At a young age, Terrez Blakewood was forced into manhood. Being raised by a single mother in the projects left no room for fun. Paying his dues and earning his street credit was his main focus. After being known as one of the biggest in Diamond Falls, Terrez is ready to step back from the streets and find love.
Freshly divorced and navigating her way through new found independence, Shalene Thompson finds herself second guessing her every move. Raising her daughter and keeping her mind on her goals was the plan. That was until an unexpected night out turned into something she couldn’t cut ties with.
When the streets and love collide, is it possible for the two to coexist, or are Terrez and Shalene in over their heads for the sake of love?
Terrez & Shalene’s story was definitely one of my favorites in this series!!
Shalene went through a lot after the death of her mother & Brevin was so trash! The way he did her after what she went through was insane!
Terrez was exactly what she needed! He saw what he wanted & stood on business about Shalene from day one!! I love how he was a man of his word & followed through with everything he told her!! He helped her regain her self confidence & gave her the reassurance she needed to love again! This story was too cute! I’m thoroughly enjoying this series! 🥰
This was just ok for me. I liked how protective Terrez was of Shalene from the beginning, and how he made space for her to have her grief moments. I also found Shalene’s story relatable. After losing a loved one suddenly, your mental health will most likely suffer and in that time it’s important to have a partner who can love & support you through it. After how terrible her ex was, it was nice to see her come out of her depression and start to care for herself again and rebuild relationships. I do wish we had a like more backstory on why Terrez was so distrustful overall. It was mentioned multiple times that he didn’t trust many, but it never said why or whether he learned to let people in. I also wish we had a glimpse of what his life post-gang looked like and how did he and Shalene’s relationship progress. So a lil epilogue would have been appreciated it.
Terrez and Shalene had a really good story 💕. Shalene was going through a painful divorce, and to make things worse, her ex-husband was forcing her out of the home they once shared—with their daughter 😔💔. As she tried to pick up the pieces, the building she ended up moving into just so happened to be where Terrez lived, which felt like fate stepping in 👀✨.
Terrez was a street pharmacist 💊 who was already working on his exit plan and trying to build a legitimate life for himself. When they first met, Shalene was very hesitant—and understandably so. Her past with a verbally abusive ex-husband left her guarded 🛑, and Terrez’s current lifestyle raised even more red flags 🚩.
One of my favorite moments was when Terrez showed up for her in a real way. When the moving company double-booked and canceled, leaving Shalene’s belongings sitting in the driveway in the rain 🌧️📦, Terrez stepped in without hesitation and helped her move. That moment really showed his character ❤️.
Even though Shalene kept her guard up at first, once they actually talked and she heard Terrez out, she decided to give him a chance 🤍. From there, their bond grew naturally, and their relationship became stronger as trust and understanding developed 🌱💑.
Overall, I really enjoyed watching their love story unfold, and now I’m especially interested in seeing how their friends Little and Pat’s situation plays out next 👀🔥. I’m definitely invested and ready for more! 📖✨
I know after each book in this series I say its my favorite but this one is for real. I took away a lot reading this story. Shalene's husband was a fool and found out what he missed out on behind his behavior. Some people don't know how to end a relationship respectfully. No problem. Terezz knows how to treat a Queen. Shalene was scared to be moving on so fast but found she was with the wrong man until she got with Terezz. They complimented each other. I was into Book 4. I'm enjoying this entire series.
Authenticity! Of the four “D-Ville Projects books, “Terrez & Shalene” met in a social environment, exchanged numbers & dated. However, he was explicit about his motivations, his intentions & the pursuer of the relationship (with Shalene) in spite of his DP gang affiliation. Terrez has/had a career plan beyond DP life. Thank you Ms. Myles‼️Lesson: Terrez didn’t allow Shalene or other outsiders to define his character by assumptions or association.
Book 4 was an ok read, but I wanted more from this story. I thoroughly enjoyed the way Terrez showed up for Shalene from day 1. I'm here for a man who goes after who he wants and doesn't care how anyone else feels about it. Terrez wasn't even letting Shalene get in the way of their potential. Shalene's ex was an absolute asshole and I really wanted to see Terrez handle him a different way (I might be a lil ratchet 🤷🏽♀️).
Babbbbbyyyy, the way that Terrez poured into Shalene during her toughest time was so refreshing to read. Especially after reading how her ex-husband disrespected and disregarded her feelings. Terrez was a man for sure. This book was a quick, easy read that was fast-paced. I enjoyed this love story.
This is the 4th D-Ville book I’ve read and like book 1 & 2 I saw the connection in how DP moved. Terrez was actually a good guy and so was Little. I loved how they looked out for one another and how he took care of Sharlene. It’s crazy how you can see character growth in such short stories. I can’t wait to read more
This was my first book by Cocoa, and I will definitely be exploring her catalog.
Shalene showed Bregin what a glow up was. All he had to do was trust in his marriage and assist her in healing. Nope. He found something else that interested him, and Terrez swooped in and loved her right.
I could really vibe with Terrez and Shalene’s book. Terrez showed Shalene so much care and gave her the love and support that she deserved. Shalene took way too much disrespect from Brevin and I was glad when she shut him down when he tried to get her to take him back. The book needed an epilogue in my opinion.
I enjoyed Terrez and Shalene story the best so far. Shalene is dealing with grief and a failed marriage while Brevin was being a f boy. I'm glad she had people in her corner to pull her out of the depression and be there for her. Terrez was like he was sent by her mom. Get into this series! All the characters were needed.
Okay, okay. This was great. Sad beginnings always make for great endings, and I loved every bit of this story. From the things involved with DP to the refreshing love from Terrez for Shalene, awesome story.
Starting over can be hard, but I'm glad Shalene had a helping hand from Terrez. He made sure she was good and protected. He loved her daughter as if she was his.
Such a sweet and cute love 💕 Terrez was definitely a book bae 🥰 loved him and how intentional he was with Shalene. She deserved to be loved respected and protected and Tarrez was up for the job.
Short, loving and to the lint. Terrestrial & Shalene’s story was right on point. Glad the bitch ass husband of hers was tossed by the side and left in his sad ass feelings. What one man won’t do…..another always will!!!
First read by this author and was really impressed. The character build was minimal but you were able to understand and love each one of them. Storyline and plot was interesting. Very good read.
This book was the introduction to this author’s talent and I wasn’t disappointed at all! Very well written and entertaining. Over all an excellent book.
This book of the series I was kind of a slow burn Shalene and Terrez story had a slow build of love. Due to Shalene’s situation, I understood why but she may have been a little older and they may been the reason as well. Terrez was cute and knew what he wanted.
