how fun! i feel like this volume strayed a little more from the source material and had more creative liberties taken (which is totally fine) but i did find it a bit disorienting and it kinda made me a bit confused at first, since there were a few added/removed/altered scenes. that being said, looking at it as its own story (rather than solely as a faithful adaptation of the game), i like the direction the story is going in and the art is consistently in alignment with the atmosphere and art direction in the game. i think i prefer the first volume as it was a little less disorienting to me (and some of the scenes in this volume felt a bit out of place in comparison to where they are in the game), but i do like this analysis of aubrey's character (i love aubrey sm) and the way basil was portrayed in this volume was really interesting to me, too. i'll definitely be continuing!
