Amber, Jade, Ruby, and a winter white opera coat

Three women are all named after precious stones.The twenty-nine year old, a dancer in a burlesque show, is named after a character in her mother’s favourite book. The forty year old, an artist and illustrator, was given her name because of the colour of her eyes. The third, who is nearly seventy and is a retired vocalist, is named after the singer of a popular song in the 1950s.
All three women don't know of each other and have never met but they all fall in love with the same coat.
In the summer of 2025 a road traffic accident brings their life stories crashing together when they will discover they have much more in common than any of them could have imagined.
Set in Kingsley, West Yorkshire this novel delves deeply into the hearts and minds of three women of different ages and backgrounds and how they make sense of living and loving.

The stories I love to read are those with layers to unravel so it's not surprising that's what I enjoy writing.
My characters mean a lot to me. When you've lived with them for so long sometimes it's hard to let them go.

Quite an enjoyable, undemanding read. Some of the writing about characters' actions was a bit heavy-handed and there were some errors which a copy editor should have spotted. Pleasant enough.
