Our heroine is a damsel, forced to marry a terrible man by her abusive parents- until she meets the hero. He is the lawyer responsible for her prenup and falls instantly for her.

We get some forbidden sex, fiancé and parental drama before a happy ending.

Emerson and Gideon

I liked these two together. Gideon was a goner for Emerson even if he denied it. She was sweet and needed someone to show her that she had a choice.
They had a good story. I liked how he gave her her freedom and let her decide what she wanted. Also, the spice was good. It's a good story if you need something quick!

Emerson grew up stupid rich and unloved. Her parents have always seen her as lacking and didn't plan for her future. Now she's days away from an arranged marriage, to a cheating addict.

Gideon is a lawyer.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
This was just okay.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
Gideon wasn't really all in it at first, he was questioning himself. And Emerson has no urgency. She was too go with the flow, and for a girl who can't trust her parents, she sure goes along with whatever they say. She had people at every turn giving her hints and telling her there is a way out and she was like a horse with blinders, woe is me.
