She wanted quiet. She got Mina. Maybe that’s exactly what she needed.
Ray Thomas has always been the responsible one—managing her mother’s crises, excelling in school, and keeping life under control. But when her sister’s chaotic best friend Mina needs a place to crash, Ray’s carefully ordered world flips upside down.
Mina Park knows what it means to be unwanted—by her parents, by her ex, and by the boss who steals her work. She’s used to shrinking herself to fit, but staying on Ray’s couch isn’t supposed to feel this… different.
Temporary turns complicated when Mina’s chaos collides with Ray’s quiet strength. Between manipulative exes, toxic bosses, families who take too much, and a judgmental cat, they’ll discover that love isn’t tidy—it’s the most beautiful mess of all.
Chaos Theory, Love Practice is perfect for readers who love curling up with a cozy blanket, a cup of coffee, and a sweet sapphic romance with found family feels that will leave your heart full.
Fluffy and super cute book. It’s a quick read, which I appreciate as I’m been so busy lately, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to read this ARC on time. But once I started it I couldn’t leave it alone. So any spare time I had, I kept reading. The topics treated in this book are worth talking about. But the way Cameron does it, and the character’s personality is so appealing, andthe way they interact is so healthy, that it was amazing to read and healing as well!
Wow! I loved this. The slow build, the messy, imperfect mains. The love. I cannot believe how tense I was when trouble, and the ex came calling! Sometimes if a sentence particularly strikes me, makes me think,I highlight it. I honestly think this book has more highlights than any other in recent reading…… and to be honest not recent reading.
well i have to say i thoroughly enjoyed reading this book in one sitting.... the author drew me in and didnt let me go till the very end... and this book will draw you in hook line and sinker
ray is moving into her sisters apartment whilst her sister izzie goes away for 6 months for a work placement, ray will be trying not to let the house plants die and look after a very temperamental cat that doesnt like her
but not long after izzie has gone a knock at the door reveals izzie best friend mina who needs a place to stay as her place is uninhabitable for a while.... with trepidation ray lets izzie in to sleep on the sofa ...its the decent thing to do...
and so begins ray and izzie nightmare because izzie is untidy and leaves things lying around and ray is a neat freak... it doesnt bode well
but something is happening and along the way izzie and ray need each other they just dont know it yet...
i have to say its a captivating read that has you shouting for relief as they both work through their issues ray with her mother and izzie with her boss and ex and along the way a recognition of sorts its the aww factor....
This was such an uplifting and inspiring read. Not only is it filled with tender moments, and a supportive atmosphere, but it navigates adapting to change and the unexpected moments in life in a relatable way. Ray is a ball of sunshine, she's caring, kind and thoughtful, but she also functions differently, likes her space and routines, and struggles with chaos and saying no. Mina is her polar opposite, she's grumpy, loves disorder, and attracts trouble, but has a heart of gold and a tendency to doubt herself and her worth. Forced to live together, they have to work around each others routines and habits which proves troublesome. They clash, they argue, but underneath it all is a bond that is growing and giving them both the encouragement they need to face their demons. Their journey confronts manipulation and emotional abuse, toxic people and workplaces, and how to put yourself first. This is the kind of book you can curl up with, relate to the struggles, feel the doubts and fears, but embrace the warmth, honesty, acceptance and love. It's the ultimate feel good journey that leaves you smiling.
"Maybe this whole situation is an opportunity to figure out how to coexist with chaos instead of trying to control it"
"You don't have to take care of everyone all the time. It's okay to take care of yourself sometimes too"
"I've realised that people who really love you shouldn't want you to change what makes you you"
this had a lot of promise and truthfully, a good start. but as i continued to read, the story became repetitive in a way that didn't really make sense? could very well be ai-generated, because multiple conversations were repeated almost directly after the other and it was just... odd ?? that being said, i finished out of pure spite (aka, so i could bitch about it) but don't waste your time !!!!
Amazing little book, very safe cozy read. As a people pleaser myself I have a very hard time with colleagues and family members that are walking exercises in setting boundaries. I highlighted a lot of passages. Such as "she had never learned how to say no without feeling like she was disappointing everybody that ever cared about her", "tightness in het chest that came with being responsible for something that mattered to someone else". While reading I often saw myself falling in the traps layed by toxic characters in the book. Luckily for me and the MC there was always a friend/sibling/love interest nearby (within a page) that came to the rescue with obvious truths "I'm not asking you to cut her off. I'm asking you to stop lighting yourself on fire to keep her warm" I will read this again: warm and almost therapeutic. Thank you, Cameron Tate, Nice job!
You’re apartment sitting your sisters apartment when her best friend knocks. Her apartment has just flooded and she needs a place to live. Opposites.. Mina is messy, leaves dishes in the sink. Ray everything is color coded and organized never a dish in the sink. Initially it’s chaos for them but it turns out they’re good for each other. They find strength and support dealing with issues they’ve struggled with for years. And surprise they find they’re both attracted to the other. Add in a controlling manipulative mother, a manipulative ex girlfriend, and you’ve got a delightful story.
This book was so much more than I was expecting. What started off as a lighthearted book, quickly delved into topics that I was all too familiar with. As someone who has also gone no contact with a family member, it was nice to be able to relate. I appreciated the conflicts in the story, it kept things very interesting. It felt like there was a lot packed into this book, even though it wasn't super long.
The sweet consideration Ray had for Mina was freaking adorable. And don't get me started on Princess Peaches 🍑 🐈 ✨
I've now read two books by this author and I would definitely read more.

I really enjoyed this read—it was absolutely adorable! While I would have loved to see a few more romantic scenes for my personal taste, the story ultimately delivers a beautiful message about love and growth. It demonstrates how two people who are complete opposites, yet share the same core values, can make an excellent match. Moreover, the book reminds us that we should surround ourselves with people who help us grow, rather than those who make us dependent or diminish our worth.
Choosing the right partner can be challenging, especially when we've grown comfortable with certain patterns or believe that the familiar is safer than the unknown. However, this story encourages us to always seek out people who inspire us to become better versions of ourselves—and with whom we genuinely want to grow together. If you're looking for a heartwarming sapphic romance that celebrates personal growth alongside love, this one's definitely worth your time!
This was such a loving and feel-good read. I genuinely couldn’t put it down. There were moments where both FMCs drove me up the wall because they’re blind, but the buildup was chaotic and worth it. The sweetness, tenderness, and strength that they gave each other was endearing and you can’t help but be happy for them. I loved this! Definitely want to read more books by the author. 🩷
Not going to lie, there are times this book— or at least its characters —will leave you wanting to pull your hair out in frustration... but if you can power through that a little, the payoff is well worth it.
I definitely recommend this book to anybody who wants the warm fuzzies... eventually 😁
I picked up Chaos Theory, Love Practice because I needed a break from heavy reading.
Something kind. Something that would let me exhale.
It turned out to be exactly that – and a quiet surprise, too. I downloaded it yesterday, dipped in and out today, and finished it feeling oddly refreshed. Also amusingly seasonal, since I was not expecting Christmas to put in an appearance, but it did, right on time.
The two central characters could not be more different. One is hyper-organised, the other gloriously chaotic and creative. They are young, twenty-something young, which now feels statistically offensive to me. And yet both already carry real emotional baggage from family and past relationships. What impressed me most was how plausibly their dynamic unfolded. The missteps made sense. The setbacks felt earned. And the way they learned to support each other through the stuff that surfaced was handled with real care and emotional intelligence.
It is warm without being flimsy, honest without being heavy-handed. I laughed out loud a couple of times. I found myself relating more strongly to one character than the other at different moments, while genuinely admiring them both throughout. And underneath the romance, there is a very real, very well observed look at how the small (or not so small) unspoken things in relationships can either heal or quietly corrode.
I came for a light read. I stayed for the substance. Full credit to Cameron Tate for that balance. A genuinely lovely, unexpectedly thoughtful book.
