The Forging of Alder Edman

Rate this book
In this harrowing sequel to The Breaking of Brendalyn Ellingboe, Bren and Alder are whisked away to a kingdom far more sinister than their own. Alder is the heir to the throne of Cereluna, but his crown comes with terrible foes. Gabriel Nocturne, King of Cereluna, would like nothing more than to see Alder’s head on a spike. However, his trusted advisor, Peridon Bellitome, is after something else—the return of his son, Novah.

Peridon Bellitome possesses power beyond comprehension—the Ember Heart; it’s power wild, and seemingly alive. Some believe it to be the source of magic itself. With the Ember Heart in his possession, Peridon is invincible. Fighting against such a force of nature seems impossible… until Bren discovers that someone close to her has bested Peridon before. Cereluna is a dangerous kingdom, but answers to Bren’s past can be found within the half truths of her enemies, and abilities previously beyond her comprehension rest just out of reach.

Try as she might, there’s no escaping this kingdom on her own. She will need every advantage she can get—but will it be enough?

I sure hope the author is a fast writer because I need book 3 like tomorrow.

Another great book that is filled the right mixture of suspense, intrigue, drama, friendship and loss like all the best books have. It’s a long book - almost 600 pages like book 1 but it just pulls you in and the next thing you know you’re almost done.

The only thing I didn’t like is that it ended on a pivotal point and now I have to wait for book 3! I received this book as an ARC from the author and she was also kind enough to give me book one to set the stage for this book.

I loved book one so much, so my expectations for the second were very high! I’m happy to say those expectations were certainly met. The way the author writes her characters is full of life and intrigue, and the addition of new characters in this book made me want to read all of their own stories. Many questions I had from the first book were answered, and many more raised have left me impatient for the final book of the trilogy to come out!

Welcome back to what I thought was her world.

I knew nothing about this series until I got an invite to read this book. like always I come to find out late this had a book 1. This series was refreshing from what everyone else is doing. I love spicy books but found myself in slump, felt like I was reading the same books by different authors lol. These books had my attention especially after how book 1 ended. Its a great break from my heavy loads. I liked how brought all the characters together and didn't drag out the plots.

I could also get into a spin off about the Bellitome Family , the thoughts of a siren family with a song so sweet. I'm more so into the moms story and the youngest brother relationship.

Amazing! Usually sequels are not as strong as the first book, The Forging of Alder Edman is a super action packed sequel. This story continuation from Book 1, and Bren's and Alder's latest adventures while feeling the emotions of those they love.
Fall into the new worlds that are opened with new characters that you will love and hate! Unlike some stories, you can't predict where the next chapter will take you. With the fae and their powers that can change any situation, it is a book that is hard to put down, even at midnight.
The depth of the history of the kingdoms are so well crafted and untold as you see parts connect and unravel prior beliefs. This book is cleverly written for all teen and adult audiences interested in Fantasy, mystery, and adventure. Waiting for Book 3 eagerly.
