Cam’s book is the fifth in the series and features small town romance, a veterinarian MMC, groveling, a close band of siblings, a virgin FMC, and so much more.
Cam fell for Taylor at first sight and wanted her immediately. However, things took a turn when he believed Taylor was partly responsible for his father’s accident. Once that came to light, he wanted nothing to do with her, and Taylor began avoiding the Wilder family altogether—especially after her ex played a role in putting Cam’s father in the hospital.
I really enjoyed Cam’s grovel once the truth came out and how he owned his mistakes. I also loved seeing him protect Taylor, especially from her drunk father and her problematic ex. It showed his growth and how deeply he cared for her.
As always, the Wilder siblings were a highlight. Their bond, loyalty, and constant presence added so much warmth to the story.
This was a solid and emotional addition to the series.

OH. MY. GOD.
Vanessa Vale has DONE IT AGAIN. Every time I think these Devil’s Ditch cowboys can’t get any more obsessive, more protective, more feral for their women… she drops Cam on me and proves I know NOTHING.
This man fell first, fell fastest, fell HARDEST. One look at Taylor and he basically wrote their wedding vows in his head. And the fact that all she wanted was a quick little bachelorette bingo kiss??? GIRL. She had no idea she was about to get tackled by destiny in a cowboy hat.
Cam:
An actual menace.
A walking, talking, groveling, steam-soaked fantasy.
He sees her, decides she’s his, and immediately turns into a full-time protector with the emotional intensity of a man who would burn down the entire county for her.
The way he goes from “hi, I’ll be your first kiss” to “oops, you might’ve brought danger to my family” to “WAIT—LET ME FIX EVERYTHING PLEASE I LOVE YOU” had me giggling, kicking, screaming, CHOKED by the pining.

Cam is a veterinarian in the small town of Devil’s Ditch. He has a great practice for the town. He loves his big family. Back in July when his father was injured by the horse, Cam took the horse and got the blood work tested and found out it was drugged. Cam didn’t know who or what happened at the hospital with his father as he was attending to the horse.
Taylor is out on the town one night with her friends celebrating a bachelorette night now. They are playing a Bingo game and Taylor has to go get a kiss from Cam when they see each other across the bar. Once Cam sees Taylor he can’t seem to let her go. But when Taylor finds out his name she bolts away from him and sees him a week later at the riding ranch she works at.
Taylor has been living with her father her whole life. But, she been the one supporting him since she was 14. Now that she’s 22, she tired of working doubles jobs to support them. She wants to be rescued herself. But who can she lean on?
Once Cam finds out who Taylor is he is furious about her and her past. But he also knows it wasn’t her fault. Once Cam finds out she lives in a horrible house with her father he has to get her out from under his roof.
Will Cam be able to love Taylor even though she has a past with his family? Will Taylor be able to move on with her life away from her father?

This is book five in the author’s new steamy series, Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch and features Cam, one of nine Wilder siblings and Devil’s Ditch’s local vet. This one picked up immediately after Beau’s ending and caused some friction between Cam and Taylor who was involved in a bit of drama with her ex in the previous book but Cam wound up being a groveling champion not to mention a world class dirty talker.
Taylor didn’t have the best home life after her mother passed. Her father, being embittered at his wife’s loss, spent all his time and money drinking, forcing Taylor to have to work two jobs to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. Having had the best night of her life with a gorgeous stranger at a bachelorette party only to find out it was with someone she could never have was just the cherry on top of her crappy life.
I loved this one, Cam possessed all of my favorite traits in an MMC (all the men in the Wilder family that I’ve read did, really), obsessed with his woman, possessive and protective, willing to burn down the world for her… makes me want my own wild cowboy!
This is an excellent read for anyone who loves high heat and adoring cowboys. 4.5 stars

Another short, sexy read that will grab your attention.
These Wilder brothers sure are something! Cam is the local vet and when a friend of Taylor’s approaches him and his friends at The Roadside bar to mark off the last squares on a Bachelorette bingo card, he points to Taylor and indicates she is who he wants a kiss and article of clothing from.
When he tells Taylor his full name after making her see stars behind The Roadside Bar she runs away because she still blames herself for the attack against Me Wilder at the fair/rodeo. Cam is shocked when the woman he wants runs from him. He is determined to find her and claim her. These Wilder brothers fall fast and hard for their ladies, and don’t let anything come between them and their happiness.
In addition to the steam and insta-love, Taylor is potentially in danger from her ex. This adds a dash of suspense to this novella’s storyline.

As the designated driver for one of my friends getting hitched I was just here ti watch and look out until the hot cowboy chose me to kiss and well thats private only when he tells me his name I panic and run of all the luck my lousy ex caused Cam Wilders family emotional distress and I feel responsible why did my stupid hormones pick the one guy I shouldn't want. Cam she left and when I find her again it's a miracle only when she tells me her name I'm furious until my family tells me to get my head our of my well you know and apologize or just straight up beg her forgiveness she's mine and I really messed things up and when I track her down see what's she's been dealing with there's no way I'm leaving her there in that house. Just as everything is going good the other shoe drops and that shady ex pops back up and scares Taylor can Cam save her.

We are back in Devil's Ditch for book five of this series! Once again, they can be read as standalones, but I highly recommend you read them in order for the full experience. Our MMC this time is the town veterinarian, Cam. Our FMC is Taylor, a girl who meets Cam on a night out, and who has had a traumatic childhood. Their pasts are more intertwined than they realize, and this sets the tone for the romance aspect of this book. Vanessa does a great job with this short story. It is another easy read, and I really enjoyed reading about how Cam and Taylor navigate their family issues to try and find a happily ever after. We love a cowboy who knows what he wants, and stops at nothing to get it. Another small-town, cowboy romance win!

One of the tropes for this novella is groveling, and there was little to none. We meet the MMC in the first book, and here he falls for the FMC who hurt his parents, and tells her to get out of his face. She does so, tells his family what happened, and the family (rightfully so, personally speaking) tells him he has to apologize since she was used by her then-partner. He goes back to apologize (and grovel) but no grovelling ever occurs. It's just MMC and FMC meet, they sleep together, he tells her to get out of his face, finds out what FMC is going through, and offers her a job. That's the whole story.
While I like Vale's Cowboy's of Devil's Ditch series as a palate cleanser, this one was not for me.

Party nite her best friend was engaged and the girls were celebrating!
They were at the local pub playing bingo that was more of dares to get your bingo numbers filled! She was the driver for the group so water washer choice of drink so the other girls doing any of the drinking dares! They were so close to getting a bingo but the task was to go to a stranger and give him a kiss and piece of clothing! The bolder girl went to the table with three cowboys and explained what they needed and one cowboy pointed to her and said he would do it but only with her! Heaven help what happens next!

Another Wilder brother down! This time it’s Cam, the town’s vet, and what a spicy, explosive take down it is. Bachelorette bingo leads straight to a filthy hot alley hook up with THE girl, the one he knows is meant to be his but after she catches his name and runs off it’s only by chance that he finds her again. And when he does, who she is leads straight to a blow up that has them both avoiding each other, until his family reams him a new one and knocks some sense into him and then it’s full on groveling mode, drug crazy ex-boyfriends, moving her in, protecting the girl, and finally getting his way about keeping her. Another great quick read for the Devil’s Ditch series.

Ohhh my… another great set up for a Wilder brother story!! Taylor was inadvertently involved in Cam’s father getting hurt at a rodeo where his sister Lainey got kidnapped before her competition. But as soon as Taylor realized what it happened, she got rid of the horrible boyfriend that had done the deed. Meanwhile, at a bachelorette party in a bar she meets Cam and as in all the other stories as soon as a Wilder boy sets eyes on a girl? they just know she is the one. Each couple has undeniable chemistry, and despite the quick spark, every story still feels well-built instead of rushed. The way they fall in love? Totally gave me werewolf-meets-his-mate energy 🤣

Taylor’s past broke me a little, but Cam’s steady devotion to her warmed me right back up. He’s the definition of safe but sinful.
Overall, these three books are pure instant chemistry, sizzling steam, and a surprisingly satisfying emotional ride.

We first meet Taylor in the previous book and I was eagerly awaiting for her to finally get her happy ever after. Her story is definitely full of triggers so do check out the content warnings for triggers.
While Cam made a mistake initially, his groveling was top notch and there was no way that Taylor would not forgive him. His protective side was definitely so attractive.
This was another page turner from the author and I finished this in one seating.

Loved this!
I loved this story of Cam and Taylor! Her horrible ex boyfriend hurt mainly and her Dad. Cam sees Taylor out at a bar for a bachelorette party, but doesn't know who she is. He's instantly attracted to her. When she realizes that he is Cam Wilder, she runs away. But Cam is determined that she's the one. I love these two together. I love this book and series. I highly recommend! I can't wait for Zeb's story.

Best one so far. I like a bit of conflict to the instaloviness. Cam hooks up with Taylor not knowing who she is. She’s part of the ongoing story from Beau and Lainey’s book. He tells her to get out of his sight once he realizes who she is. Then sees he made a mistake because he didn’t know she’d already worked things out with his family. Taylor’s dad and ex were pieces of shit, and I need to know what the deal is with the Trout people.

It’s Cam’s turn! This was the first of the series to have a Wilder almost rebuke his choice. This book was so intriguing when it came to Taylor and her story. This being the fifth book in the series really has me invested in the story about how all of this ties together and what is going to happen. This series has me invested a chokehold and I’m here for it.

Another Wilder man has found his "one". This match was much needed. Taylor needed someone to not only take care of her but help her get out of the horrible situation she was in. Cam was an idiot at first but he learned his lesson fast and made up for his error. I'm so happy for these two!

No tengo palabras para describir lo mucho que me ha gustado este libro. A pesar de ser una historia cortita, juega perfectamente con la tensión, spice, romance y acción. Como el resto de los libros de la saga, se trata de un romance cowboy romance donde el instalove es un punto clave de la trama. Me encantan las historias de Vanessa

I love this insta-love kind of romance, when his eyes meets hers he is done for. And just know that she is his.
Taylor needs someone to protect her and Cam is just the right man for the job. When he learned how she was he acted stupid and really stubborn before his parents knocked some sense into him. It does end with a HEA

Three of the series about a family of ranchers and the women they fall for. Interconnected characters (apart from the family obviously) with an underlying drama involving a neighbouring family. Plenty of steam and alpha instalove.

this has been my favorite so far. i loved the pacing, the plot really made me want to keep reading and i loved cam. he wasn’t absolutely ott possessive. he was sweet and i truly enjoyed that. taylor has been my favorite fmc so far!

I absolutely could not get enough of Cam and Taylor!! I love how caring Cam is and the connection and spark he has with Taylor!! Many emotions and drama heat up this love story so you will not be able to put this book down!! Quick easy read but totally enjoyable!! Grab your copy and enjoy!!

Cam and Taylor was so cute together. This one has a age-gap of few years and they just worked. The chemistry was on point and the story and drama is just getting better the more one get's to meet all the brother's.
