Hayes Wilder, the last bachelor standing in his family, had sworn off love. That was until Cassidy, his brother's new ranch hand, came along and turned his world upside down. Despite their ten-year age gap, Hayes couldn't shake off the family destiny that had brought them together. But little did he know, Cassidy was hiding a secret that could change everything. And when the truth finally came out, Hayes and his family would have to decide if they could handle the truth - and the enemy in their midst.
Hayes was the undisputed dirtiest Wilder of them all – and I'm not just talking about his mouth. He had a rather... let's say, 'fascination' with stealing the heroine's panties, which, considering they lived in chilly Montana, was either very brave or very crazy and precarious to her health! There was some angst about Cassidy's true identity, but once you're claimed by the Wilders, there's no turning back – as Cassidy discovered as Hayes and his brothers helped her reclaim her birthright and settle some old scores at the same time. A fabulous, finale to the Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch series.
Cassidy I found the perfect plays ti hide from my father and brothers after graduation I had to come back home unfortunately my dad wants to sell me to one of his old cronies the old guys he hangs with and my brother Rocky wants tel auction me of to some of his friends so as soon as I can I find work in the one place they will never look there enemy the Wilders and who are my family the Trouts yep the ones causing so much trouble in Devils Ditch Wyoming and everything was fine until I caught the attention on Hayes Wilder he's older and a lawyer he needs to stay away from me my family is trouble I just need money then I can figure out what to do with my life. Hayes she's to young 18 to my 28 what am I thinking about my brother Bucks new ranch hand but after she goes out with the other ranch hands to a bar I see red she's mine and it's time I set the rules told she belongs with me. One family dinner and now everyone knows my secret but then I learn just how crooked and crazy my family really is but my Hayes and the Wilders have my back and the Trouts will finally get what's coming to them.
Hayes mentioned he wanted to find a nice, simple girl and settle down - boy did he get more than he bargained for in Cassidy Cove. An 18-year old, sassy spitfire who had him falling for her the first time he saw her in the barn at the Wilder ranch.
The last Wilder brother fell hard and fast, and while he’s introducing Cassidy to his family, readers get to catch up with the baby news for his siblings.
This last book tied up the entire series regarding the subplot that has continued through each of the books with the shenanigans the Wilder’s and their partners have faced from the nasty Trout’s. The payoff on that storyline is epic and fitting.
I always enjoy Vanessa’s writing with sassy FMCs, alpha protective MMCs, plenty of spice, lots of laughs and fun storylines.

What a great ending to this series! And how surprising that Cassidy would help them tie up the loose ends with their enemy who has given each and every one of them a little bit of trouble. I love this series and how all the boys have found their forever after, love of their lives and the cycle is now complete. I had a little problem in the beginning with Cassidy being so young, 18 is VERY young g. but I see that it was somewhat intricate to the storyline and in the end she found the family she always wanted and needed. I hope this author does another series like this. I thoroughly enjoyed these sweet, hot, sexy, quick, most satisfying stories of hot men and sassy women! I can’t wait till the next big thing from this author.
This is last in a series of novellas that should be read in order, but features a different sibling in each book. The are all pretty "spicy", featuring males that all do instalove for "the One", with a large side of dirty talk. This last one is probably my least favorite, but mostly because the barely legal of the main female (18) with an older man (28) is a personal ick for me, especially as there is some dominance/"Daddy" play, although the author tried to verbally make clear the male character was being clear on consent. The series was otherwise a generally fun, dirty distraction, that tried to also maintain a strong commitment to family & respecting the women while still having strong, dominant males, in the setting of ranch life in Montana.
And so the final Wilder sibling finds love. Hayes is arguably the most cynical of the siblings and is adamant he'll find love with a simple and uncomplicated woman. And then there is 18 year old Cassidy, ranch hand on the Wilder land. Despite the 10 year age gap, Hayes cannot resist the pull between them. However, Cassidy has a secret. She is seeking safety from her father on the Wilder ranch, the last place he would ever look.
This is a fun, steamy, age gap, virgin heroine quick read from VV that ties up the 9 novella Wilder series. Hayes and Cassidy are a perfect ending, giving closure to the underlying wider narrative.
Age gap and my enemy’s daughter is one of my favorite tropes that just made this book so much better for me personally.
Cassidy and Hayes get their happy ending in this standalone novella in a series.
Cassidy just wanted to get away from her father and brother. So she gets a job at the Wilder ranch as a ranch hand, using her mother's maiden name, where she meets Hayes. Hayes falls immediately but also recognizes that he's much older then her and tried to stay away. Once they give in, sparks explodes. But there's one small detail, Cassidy's true last name is Trout.
I’m sad to see this series end but at the same time so happy to been on this fantastic journey.
The final Wilder has found their partner but boy what a way to end the series! This book could have been 509 pages and I would have been ok with that. Give me all the details about every single character and what they are doing and how the Wilders have won at life. Age gap is not really my thing so I wasn’t loving that but hearing about how this series wraps up was so fun. Dare I say, I hope Vanessa rights more about these characters?
I received this book as an arc and am leaving my honest review.
Hayes is book 9 in the Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch by Vanessa Vale 4.5 stars
This series is an insta love, small town romance as we followed the 9 Wilder siblings to finding their “One”. Up last is Hayes and Cassidy’s story with a twist that ties the undercurrent in the series together. Age gap, ranch hand, family, secrets, hiding from her father and a surprise Cassidy didn’t see coming! If you haven’t read this series you are totally missing out…
I voluntarily read a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Age gap and my enemy’s daughter, it’s a whole vibe and it’s fantastic! The last Wilder falls, it’s super steamy, and FINALLY the Trout’s get exactly what they deserve. Cassidy is a total surprise not only in that she exists but also in that get it girl way, the age gap actually works pretty well given how she was raised and how hot it is when Hayes is all bossy, and it’s the ending this family deserves. Really great little quick read.
I had a feeling Hayes and Cassidy would end up together. I didn't know her name but I figured we were going to leave this series with a bang. Ms Vale definitely did not disappoint me. I'm happy that these two got their HEA. I'm also very happy with this ending. It was about time that family got what they deserved. I will miss this family but I'm thankful I took a chance on these novellas.

I loved this story of Cassidy and Hayes! From the moment they first saw each other, the attraction was there. There may be a bit of an age gap, but they are perfect for each other. And a Trout no less. I am going to miss the Wilder family. I hope a novella cones out with updates on the whole family in the future! I love this series and highly recommend! So hot, quick and fun!
Well...am I sad? I sure am. Just finished the final Cowboys of Devils Ditch book and I don't want this series to end. Hayes is most definitely my favorite. He's bossy, alpha, protective and knows just exactly what a woman...his woman wants. This book neatly ties up some loose ends in an absolutely perfect way. Go visit Devils Ditch...meet these boys for yourself. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶.5
In this last book of the Devil’s Ditch series, the villains finally get what they deserve! Hurray! I loved the twist which was revealed at the end and that revenge was just so sweet.
This book definitely rates high on the spice, and if you love an alpha male, and an age gap romance, you will enjoy this novella.
A fabulous conclusion to these love stories!! Hayes is the last Wilder brother and he falls hard for Cassidy!! Enjoy the love story and the conclusion to the Trout troubles!! Quick read but very enjoyable!! Grab this series and enjoy the journey these brother go on to get their HEA!!
This series was a hard one to put down, all got five stars , wish I could have given more stars. I read book one and didn't stop until book nine. So so good! Ms. Vale thank you for bringing the Wilder family to us. On to the next adventure!😉💚💙🎄
Enjoyed this book more than the others mostly because we got to see retribution dealt out to the trouts. Liked hayes and even though Cassidy was young they seemed to be ideal together.
Hayes is a great ending to this series! It doesn’t get much better than marrying the enemies daughter. Oh wait…. There’s more. Read about Hayes and Cassidy to find out what.
Cassidy just wanted to get away from her father and brother, both of whom see her turning eighteen and recently graduating as a thing they can use to their advantage. So she gets a job at the Wilder ranch as a ranch hand, using her mother's maiden name, and meets Hayes. Hayes falls immediately but also recognizes that he's a decade older than her and doesn't approach her right away. Once they give in, sparks fly. But there's one small detail that, when it comes out, may tear the Wilders apart - Cassidy's true last name is Trout.
Cassidy and Hayes get their happy ending in this standalone novella in a series.
I'm sad to see the series end, but I'm so happy with how it ended as well. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a series epilogue at the end of Hayes, looking forward five to ten years and seeing how happy all nine couples are still, and to see how many kids they all have between them in that time. I was very happy with how the Trout situation ended up being resolved, though I think Cassidy's brother got off very lightly for what he was doing. I would have loved to have known how long her father got in jail for all that he had done, not only to Cassidy but also to the other Wilders over the years as well. And if Hayes got his brothers together after he got out of jail to ensure their women were all safe. These Wilder men and women were amazing people, and it was fun to see them all fall!
