Fourteen years ago, Josie and Tyler shared one perfect night together that left her with more than just memories. Unable to find him, Josie raised their daughter alone before marrying and later divorcing a man who gave her a son, but not the love she needed.
Now, as a single mom in the small town of Singing River, Josie has built a life rooted in resilience, caution, and fierce devotion to her kids. She’s also built walls around her heart.
Unconvinced love is on the canvas of her life, Josie isn’t sure she can risk what she’s fought so hard to create. But Tyler’s presence stirs up not only old longings and new possibilities, but also fear.
When Tyler shows up in Singing River, shocked to find he has a child, he weaves himself into their everyday world to make up for lost time. He wants this family—his family—and a second chance with the woman he’s never forgotten.
From family dinners to late night confessions, Tyler is convinced the universe is about to give him everything he ever wanted.

Just A Memory ♾️ Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Jenny Cross for this ARC!
14 years ago Josie & Tyler shared an unforgettable night, which left Josie with child. However, after searching everywhere and was unable to find him, decided to raise her daughter alone.Life played her own game with her, leading her to having an another child and a divorce today.
Tyler moves to Singing River,a small town,& the last person he is expected to see there is the girl that stole his heart and mind years ago. So,will life give them a second chance or they will become Just A Memory?
I loved this story very much due to dealing with so many topics inside it.I can reassure you, YOU WILL NEVER GET BORED while reading! We have that small town vibe, that it is seen from many point of view(Josie's who lives here, her teen daughter's and Tyler's who just moved there!) & a impeccable second chance romance that will have you giggling your feet!
My girl Josie,is THE best mom, partner & woman.I loved her story since I first read about it & my absolute favourite thing about her is the way she describes something when she loves it. She is a passionate woman, and Cross really highlighted it with her decription. On the other side Tyler,is such a cinnamon roll mmc!He has all the pack:handsome, caring & patient,so all the girls love him!Josie, how lucky you are!
Their romance popped out since page 1,but due to the nature of the trope it had an another turn when it came to surface in the future again. They were more cautious with every move and wanted to be 100% sure with themselves before every step.Something that was a big YES from me & led us to the amazing ending that we had!
If you ask me,you should definitely add this to your TBR TODAY! out on 14th Nov ✨ 4⭐
@authorjennycross is amazing!! This series has me hooked, and I loved this couple just as much as I loved Penny and Austin.
Just A Memory is a secret baby, single mom, second chance, small town romance between Josie and Tyler.
I really felt for Josie. She’s doing the best she can, and has such a big heart for her family, friends, and students. She’s been through so much heartache, and I completely understand why she’s so resistant to a relationship with Tyler at first. It made watching her let him into their lives that much sweeter. Readers will absolutely love her.
Tyler is such a sweetheart. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for Josie and her kids, and I also loved how he never hesitated to step in and protect them or be their cheerleader when they needed him. He loves them with his whole heart, just as he loves his friends and would do anything for them. I loved him just as much as Austin, and so will y’all.
Thank you so much to @authorjennycross for my arc, and for having me on your content team! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
This is such an adorable book and I am so grateful to have been a part of the ARC team. I thoroughly enjoyed the second chance, slow burn, small town vibe - these tropes are my jam! The sparks between Jo and Tyler are just palpable! Throw in there fate and a secret baby?! Wow! Love! Thank you for the ARC opportunity!
I was sucked in from the start with this story! When I saw that this was a second chance and secret baby I knew it was going to be a wild ride!
The chemistry with Josie and Tyler from the beginning had me hooked and wanting to know more about how they were going to reconnect for their second chance.
Tyler is a dreamboat. He was the man that Josie deserved from the start, but unfortunately her heart is guarded from a nasty divorce. Josie has had to be a single mom for years, juggling everything on her own. But Tyler is patient and takes his time proving to Josie that he is in it for the long haul 💖
A must read , please add to your TBR!
What to Expect: 🎨 Small Town 🎨 Single Mom 🎨 Second Chance 🎨 One Night Stand 🎨 Secret Child 🎨 It’s Always Been You
Just A Memory is book 2 in the Singing River Sound and it was such a beautiful story. From the start Jenny enthralled me with her beautiful writing and prose. The amount of growth in her writing from the first book is outstanding, I can't even comprehend how she grew so much! I could feel the amount of emotions she poured into the book, it was felt through the characters. The relationship with Tyler & Josie is definitely an insta love type of situation, but the way Jenny crafted it truly made sense and I could feel the connection and love between them. It felt real, not forced or unrealistic, when you know you know. The added letters Josie wrote absolutely tugged at my heart!
The communication between them in the beginning was great, there was a first issue that was resolved super quickly by taking it out which I truly appreciated. Tyler was truly the highlight of the story for me, the way this man stepped up and the way he was there for Josie was outstanding. He proved each and every single day how much he wanted her and her kids. I won't lie Josie did not always hit the spot for me, she is definitely human, but her inability to see how much this man wanted her and would do anything was a little hard at times. Josie definitely experienced a lot of growth from the start to the end which definitely made it so much better.
Overall, Jenny crafted a beautiful story with beautiful characters. Her impeccable writing and storytelling skills enhanced the beauty of this novel. I can only see Jenny going up from here!
✨️ Thank you to @jennycross for my gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks to Jenny Cross and Love Notes PR for the #gifted copy of this book.
"To the memories of the past and the ones left to create."
My Thoughts: THIS was the perfect second book of a series with a heartbreaking past, one perfect night, and an unexpected second chance with all the feels and the swooniest MMC. Just a Memory was hands down a five-star book for me because I loved the small moments Tyler showed Josie that he loved her and that he was going to stay, along with the sweetest grand gestures. Though Josie's past is heartbreaking and her journey to love is tough, she is such a remarkable woman, especially through her after-school art therapy program for students at her school. Because of the walls around her heart, it took Josie a long while to let Tyler in and to trust him, but when she finally did, it was the perfect moment. Jo's children, Abby and Jay, were such a pivotal part of Jo and Tyler's story, and I love the levity and sage advice they brought to the table. It was so fun to revisit some of my favorite people from the first book, especially Penny and Austin. I loved seeing them again, along with Cassie. I am thrilled about the next book by Jenny Cross!
"You told me they're forget-me-nots. I don't want to just be a memory, Jo."
What You'll Find: 🏡 Small Town 🤭 Single Divorced Mom 🥰 One Night Stand 💋 Second Chance 🍼 Secret Child 🫣 It's Always Been You
I had the absolute pleasure of beta and arc reading Just a Memory, and I feel like it's only fair to say that I absolutely adored Tyler and Josie's story!
After one magical night together, Josie and Tyler never see each other again. At least, that is what they expected until Tyler came to Singing River with his client, Austin. When Josie sees Tyler again, she is transported to that night all over again, and to the way her life changed after that fateful night.
Tyler has dethroned Austin as my top Jenny MMC. The way this man loves Josie had me swooning. While yes, there is the insta love elements, he had found a moment with someone he wanted to know the rest of his life and he lost her. The way he carried her with him all these years and the way he immediately set to winning her back with his whole heart had my fully supporting his endeavors.
Josie, this woman is so strong because she had to be. After losing Tyler and who he could have been to her, she tried to move on and be the best mother she could be. Unfortunately that journey only caused more hurt so she closed her heart to love and worked every day to provide for her children as best as she can. She is complicated, jaded but so realistic that I wanted to give her a big hug and tell her everything would work out. She resonated with me as a character and I love her, every messy and complex bit to my soul.
Abbey, Jay and cameos of our other favorites from Just Business had the found family vibes I love. The way this family supports each other was perfect and I could not get enough.
Thank you so much to Jenny for the early copy of Just a Memory and letting me be a small part of your journey. I am so excited to see what is next!
Tropes: Second Chance Single Mom Surprise Baby Small Town Opposites Attract It's Always Been You
Absolutely love this one! Thank you to LoveNotes PR and Jenny Cross for allowing me to be an advanced reader for this beauty of a novel. I can not rave about this enough! I've told all my coworkers who are readers and have even had a few say they are going to grab it off KU.
Josie & Tyler really are great together! Bath Current time & 14 years ago. One crazy drunk night at a frat party and antibiotics being a sneaky culprit start this crazy, lovely novel. That and a torrential downpour & a super rude driver.
Tyler ends up in' Josie's hometown & is surprised to see she is there and she is a Mom. There is an immediate connection, one so great that the families of both feel it. On top of this, we find out Josie moved back to help care for her aging Mawmaw, the woman who raised her.
There's a couple of really well written spicy scenes. There's great representation of mental stress and how it affects a person.
- Second chance - Explicit scenes
All in all, this was a great wholesome novel with a few spicy scenes and a crap-ton of really cute moments. Definitely will be a book I re-read when I need a pick-me-up.
Some memories never fade — especially the ones tied to the person you never really got over. 💔
Jenny Cross absolutely nails the small-town, second-chance romance in Just a Memory. It’s emotional, heartfelt, and beautifully real. The story follows two people bound by the past, forced to face old wounds and decide if love is worth another shot.
The chemistry between them? 🔥 The heartbreak? Gutting. The hope? So worth it. Cross has this way of writing characters that feel lived in — flawed, scared, and still trying to find their way back to something that feels like home. 🥹
The small-town setting adds another layer — that mix of comfort and claustrophobia, where everyone knows your story and healing means confronting it head-on. It’s raw, emotional, and so satisfying to watch unfold.
This isn’t just a romance — it’s a story about forgiveness, growth, and finding peace with the past. By the end, you’ll be teary-eyed but smiling. 🩶
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Heartfelt. Tender. Unforgettable.
Thanks @lovenotes.pr and @authorjennycross for letting me be an ARC.
It tells the story of Josie and Tyler, who, after spending a night together, go their separate ways. Fourteen years later they meet again, and he discovers that she has raised their daughter on her own.
I really liked Josie. I think she’s very strong and represents single mothers very well, those mothers who give absolutely everything for their daughters. She is funny, and I really like the way she raises her children.
I liked Tyler, he’s very sweet, and I like that he immediately wants to be part of his daughter’s life. However, there were certain moments when he seemed very insistent, and it overwhelmed me a bit. I really liked the relationship he has with the kids and how he wants to be another member of the family.
Overall, it’s a very sweet story, with very funny moments and a very well-built second-chance romance.
I know I live in a small town but Jenny has me wishing that Singing River was real and that I could move there tomorrow!
I enjoyed the first book in this series so much but this book quickly became my favorite! Just from the little bit we got of Josie in the first book, I knew I was going to adore her and I was right! Watching her learn to lean on others had me feeling all types of way and I just fell more in love with her! Tyler, geez what I tall drink of water! The way he just fit right in and made sure to be there for Josie and her kids had me loving him so much!
Josie and Tyler had such great chemistry and I loved that they got their second chance! I can’t wait to see what’s next from Jenny!
Thanks so much to Jenny for the ARC for an honest review!
This was my first accidental pregnancy book, and honestly? I loved it!
The FMC and MMC meet in college and share a one-night stand that leads to an unexpected pregnancy. Fourteen years later, their paths cross again, and all those buried feelings come rushing back.
The love story is genuinely adorable, and I’m pretty sure I fell a little bit in love with Tyler Kent myself. It’s sweet, spicy, and fun — a romantic, feel-good story from start to finish.
The third-act miscommunication killed me. I just wanted to shake the characters and tell them to get it together! But the ending tied everything up so perfectly that it totally made up for it.
If you love second chance romances and you adore an ALL IN mmc, then this is the book for you!! And I’m talking all in from the very start. Tyler is an absolute dreamboat and he is determined to show Josie that he is the man she absolutely needs in her life. Tyler is there for Josie and her kids every step of the way! My gosh, this man! Just A Memory is both messy and real. Tender and emotional. And amongst all the messy moments, there are so many sweet and swoony moments between Josie and Tyler. There was banter and flirting and yearning and just the right the right amount of spice!! I can’t wait to see who’s up next for us in this endearing small town series!!
this was such a cute read! This was actually my first book by this author and I was shocked at how quickly I finished it! Tyler & Josie… ahhh, I’m a sucker for a good second chance romance, & this one was captivating & swoon-worthy & addicting! I also really loved the small town vibes and the whole secret baby aspect was unique, given it’s a second chance story. I’m not always big on pregnancy/secret babies but this one was executed well.
🩵 small town 🩵 second chance 🩵 secret baby 🩵 it’s always been you 🩵 one night stand situation 🩵 duet pov
A super cute follow-up to Book 1, Just Business. I loved the MMC and the kids in this story! Josie annoyed me a bit, but she even annoyed herself, so that’s okay! lol I love this author’s sense of humor and the southern phrases that get thrown into the conversations between characters. Very Alabama! I recommend if you like second chance romance and small town vibes!
Just a Memory had me hooked from the very first chapter! I couldn’t put it down. This small-town love story has all the heart and charm I adore — a single mom finding her second chance at happiness, and a man who’s everything we dream of. Josie’s story felt so real and relatable, and Tyler? He’s the kind of hero that makes you believe in love all over again.
This book had everything I look for in a romance — heart, hope, a little heat, and that perfect HEA! It left me smiling and wishing I could stay in Singing River just a little longer.
I want to thank Jenny Cross for gifting me this ARC.
If I could give this book 6 stars I would. I absolutely loved it. It made me smile, tear up, and cheer on both Tyler and Josie. Both characters were extremely likable and I felt like their story reminded of the Notebook and any classic romance from Jane Austen. This book is indeed a second chance romance to the core and the yearning from Tyler is swoon worthy. Of all the books I've read this year, I have never met anyone like Tyler who I guess has the appearance of Clark Kent. (Immediate like, by the way.) I felt that Josie was extremely relatable when it came to her being a strong single parent. While I'm not a parent myself, I could tell that despite being in crappy relationships and an even crappier marriage Josie felt it necessary to have a tough exterior to everyone around her even when she was breaking inside.
Throughout the book we were able to see the push and pull between Josie and Tyler. The kids, family, and friends added more substance and realism to the book. Some quotes that really stuck with me were:
"We can do hard things."
"I like my men exactly where they belong. In my romance books. Fictional men don't break your heart. Fictional men stick around."
"You told me they're forget-me-nots. I don't want to be just a memory, Jo"
"Deep down, she wants to be cherished. She wants someone to make her feel beautiful and sexy. Josie wants to feel seen. To notice the little, seemingly insignificant things that only the love of your life would notice."
"Not a single one of us is capable of judging the suffering of another human being. No matter the ramifications of their suffering, whether it be poor choices or whatever they leave in their wake. What's easy for one person might be a feat for another."
When it comes to things I didn't like about the book, I didn't like how long it took for Josie to realize the truth of what she felt for Tyler, but I feel like understanding where she was at emotionally and mentally was key to her character arc.
The people I would recommend this book to are those who love second chance romance, small town romance, and contemporary romance. Those who like books with men who truly yearn after the women they want would also enjoy this book. I felt that this book was inspired by some of the classics such as Pride and Prejudice and the Notebook. There is some open door spice throughout this book and I would rate is a 2 out of 5.
Overall, 6 stars.

My Review:
This was my first book by Jenny Cross and I will be reading more of her stories! Just a Memory follows Josie and Tyler. Josie and Tyler met and had a one night stand.. Josie becomes pregnant and without her and tyler exchanging numbers or last names there is no way for her to tell him. After fourteen years Josie and Tyler cross paths again after Josie has been through a disaster of a divorce. Tyler is able to get to know the woman he has always wanted and the daughter he did not know he had. Tyler is exactly what Josie needs and who she truly deserves after everything she has been through. He is sweet and kind. This book was beautifully written and I absolutely loved it.
Tropes: 🏡 Small Town 🤭 Single Divorced Mom 🥰 One Night Stand 💋 Second Chance 🍼 Secret Child 🫣 It's Always Been You
Just a Memory is the second book in the Singing River Sound series. I did not read the first book in the series and can say that this is a true standalone.
Accidental pregnancy is not one of my favorite tropes, but I actually really liked it in this story. Josie and Tyler share a memorable night together in college and lose touch with each other. They tried to find one another, but were not successful for 14 years. Following a surprise encounter, they slowly learn about each other and what they have missed over their time apart.
Jenny does an amazing job of describing the routines and structures that Josie has created in her life to be a successful single mom. With Tyler not being aware of his daughter and Jay's (second child) dad being out of the picture, Josie does it all and she does it so well. She's present with her kids, works hard at her job, keeps close with her friends, checks in on her grandma, cooks the meals, etc. It's hard and exhausting, but she gets it done all while mostly maintaining an upbeat attitude for her friends and family. But Tyler comes along and sees all of that and finds ways to help her without pushing too much. He never lashes out about not knowing about his daughter, and while it couldn't really be helped that he didn't know, his immediate understanding and compassion was such perfect green flag energy.
My only real frustration was how long they waited to tell Abby who he was. I understand it was based on Josie's fear of abandonment, but for as involved as he was in their lives, it seemed like an earlier reveal would have made more sense.
This is my first time reading a book by Jenny Cross and I am so glad I did. I'm looking forward to more books from her. Thank you to Jenny and LoveNotes PR for my ARC!
I loved Book 1, Just Business, so much that I was nervous this follow-up wouldn’t have the same magic, but wow, was I wrong.
I’m not a secret baby fan, but the way this was done is freaking good. My heartstrings were being strummed like an Austin James country song. Josie and Tyler shared one magical night in college that changed them both. They had chemistry, spark, everything. He left his number, but thanks to the rain it was lost forever. Josie got pregnant, and with no last names exchanged, there was no way to find him…though they both tried.
14 years later, Josie is a divorced mother of two pre-teens when they meet again. Now they’re trying to figure out who they’ve become as adults, how Tyler can build a relationship with the daughter he never knew about, and how to break the news to her. It’s…a lot.
But one thing that is not a mess? Tyler "Clark" Kent! The way he shows up again and again in big and small ways? It absolutely melted me. He’s determined to make up for lost time, and he refuses to lose Josie now that he’s finally found her. He’s patient, supportive, loving, steady. I swooned basically the entire time.
Josie takes longer to trust. Her past has made her cautious, jaded, and overwhelmed. She’s trying to protect her kids, her heart, and survive the day-to-day. Her walls are sky-high after years of disappointment and people leaving. I need to also mention that the letters and the box that Josie gives Tyler really tugged HARD at my heart.
I also loved seeing Austin and Penny since Josie is Penny’s bff and Tyler being Austin’s cousin/manager. Watching their relationship progress beyond where we left them in Book 1 felt like the perfect cherry on top.
Thank you so much, @authorjennycross and @lovenotes.pr for the ARC. I can't wait to continue with this series!

🎨 𝙈𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 🎨 This is book two in the Singing River Sound series and it does not disappoint! At the end of Just Business, book 1 of Singing River Sound, we are given a surprise storyline reveal that made me so excited to pick this story up!
Josie and Tyler’s story brings us a second chance romance that you love to root for. They share one amazing night together 14 years ago, that leaves Josie with their daughter she’s raising after being unable to find each other again.
Divorced and living the independent, single mom life, Josie is shocked when Tyler comes to town and they get a chance to reconnect. I love how Tyler connects with both of Josie’s kids, even though he’s only father to one of them.
I love how steady Tyler is in face of Josie’s fears of everyone always leaving her. His “Clark Kent” vibes, glasses and maturity make him the leading man to swoon over. He is always there when Josie needs him, even when she won’t ask. Tyler’s steadiness is one of my favorite characteristics of his as he is determined to prove to Josie that they still have something special after all these years!
The tension and chemistry flies between Tyler and Josie! The vulnerability they share as they navigate old feelings with new ones, along with the swirling questions of where they fit together as parents, leads readers on a journey they won’t want to stop reading about.
I’m excited to read more in the future from new author Jenny Cross!!

Review This story is beautiful in so many ways. From topics that it deals with to Josie being a single mom for a while. There's so many moments where this book had me laughing, giggling, and kicking my feet and I love how it did justice to representing mental health, single parenting.
The love story between Josie and Tyler is the cutest and I love how the universe gave them a second chance. The spicy scenes are so good and I'm impressed. but over all the cute moments are the winners.
I enjoyed reading, Just a Memory by author Jenny Cross. This is the first book that I have read of hers, and I was deeply touched by such a beautiful written story. Right from the start I was captivated by the story of Josie and Tyler. Both of whom began their story with a night full of passion and lovemaking.
It was a night that neither of them would forget. Let’s just say Josie was left with more than just memories from that one night stand. Josie embarks on the search for Tyler. But she has no luck in finding him. She nevertheless is determined to raise this child on her own.
Josie later marries and has a son. And when that marriage didn’t work out, once again she is left to raise them on her own. A single mom with two children to raise and care for, Josie is determined to stay strong and raise them with no future plans of meeting or jumping into any relationships with anyone. Working keeps her busy. Plus who has time for love with the luck she’s had in the past.
That is until Tyler returns to Singer River and realizes he has a daughter with the one person that he has never forgotten. He is fully determined to make things right and win Josie over. He is hoping to gain that family he’s always wanted.
Is there a happy ending for Josie and Tyler? Well, you’ll just have to read the book for yourself and find out.
Overall, it’s a beautifully crafted storyline; well put together. There was never a dull moment. The author does well, in keeping the reader engaged.
10 out of 10 I would recommend this book to everyone!!
ARC review book 2 in the series, I have not read book 1 Antecdotal thoughts while reading Southern setting The story opens up with flashbacks to a college graduation party. The Josie-isms are funny. The music industry connects "Jo" and Tyler early on. Will this be a second-chance romance? Open-door romance During the flashback opening, "I wish I could keep you. That the universe would find a way for me to keep you." Is this some foreshadowing? "Maybe we're not over yet." Ummmm Jo, did you take a test? Are you with Tyler or not?? You are about to see his cousin perform. The persistence of Josie is admirable. 20% in the book and loving it thus far. That principal is a full-blown a$$ wipe! I've heard of telling your good/bad of the day or the who did you help/who helped you, but "whoops and poops" is a new one. "Operation Woo Josie" has a plan...now to execute it. Yes, Josie, choose hope as your motto. Josie, those letters had to have been very cathartic. That's some good advice given by Cassie and Penny. It's finally New Year's! Walls are crumbling fast!! Inside Out references always have an impact. That movie is so important to social-emotional learning for kiddos and adults alike. I'm still waiting to see if Tyler bought the dream house for Josie. Will there be an adoption? Postpartum depression is real people! I had it with my second kiddo. Do not tell me what I was feeling and thinking was not valid! 😡😡😡 Self-sabotage/self-preservation, tomato/tomatoe, potato/potatoe Nothing says love like an overpaid Chili's delivery.
I absolutely adored this story! Josie and Tyler were so cute and I just loved them so much.
After reading Just Business earlier this year, I was impatiently awaiting this story and they did not disappoint!
Josie is a strong, badass mom. After a one night stand in college with a stranger results in a pregnancy, Josie has no way to connect with the father. Fast forward 14 years and she is now a divorcee and a single mom to Abby (14) and Jay (10). She has given up on love for herself after years of those who were supposed to stay left. When her best friend falls in love with country music star Austin, she finds out that his manager (who is also his cousin) is Abby’s father. Once he finds out about his daughter, he is determined to be in her life and be the best dad he can be.
Tyler is such a sweetheart and the greenest of flags. After his one night with Josie in college, he has been missing the spark he felt when they were together and he is determined to get that back. The steadfast way he continued to show up for Josie and silently do the little things to help her out and make her life easier was so sweet. Watching him step up, not only for Abby, but Josie and Jay too was SO attractive. His protectiveness over them had me swooning and hearing him just speak about Josie was 🥹
Their connection was electric from day one and you just knew they were special together. Watching them reconnect after what felt like a lifetime apart had me kicking my feet and swooning over them. Tyler chipped away at Josie’s tough exterior bit by bit and when she finally let him in… sparks flew. The spice was 🔥 and the filthy mouth on Tyler was unexpected but 🥵
I loved the mental health rep and I really enjoyed the friendships and how Josie’s friends called her out and had an intervention when needed. Those were true friends 🙌
I enjoyed this, but I always wonder why FMCs have always had all these imperfections, and MMCs are cookie-cutter perfect.
The author skillfully portrays the deep love and longing shared by the main characters, making their emotional journey feel authentic and heartfelt. Their separation of fourteen years isn’t just a backstory; it’s a palpable force driving every encounter. As a reader, I found myself invested in their happiness, with the story evoking everything from laughter to tears, and even moments where I couldn’t help but smile.
While I did enjoy Tyler’s unwavering goodness, he seemed almost too perfect. A glimpse into his flaws or struggles would have made him feel more genuine, especially for readers drawn to complex or morally ambiguous male leads.
One aspect that felt like a missed opportunity was how the central secret was handled. The slow reveal kept the tension alive, but dragged on perhaps a bit too long. Then, once the truth surfaced, the narrative pace accelerated so quickly that there was little time to explore genuine bonding between Tyler, Abbey, and Jay. I was hoping for more scenes capturing their transition as a new family unit, but it all wrapped up rather abruptly.
All in all, while the story delivers plenty of emotional highs, some parts felt rushed or underdeveloped. Still, the journey is worth the read for anyone craving a heartfelt second chance romance.
I feel very grateful to have been given the opportunity so read this before its release. This book was the cutest little second chance romance!! It starts with the main characters, Josie and Tyler, who met in college for only one night. They both spent 14 years thinking of each other and searching for that same love they found with each other that one night. After 14 years, Tyler ends up in Josie's home town and finds out he has a child with Josie. He spends his time trying to prove to Josie that she is deserving of love after she has sworn off love following her divorce. These two characters are both so wonderful and relatable in so many ways. The single mom of two, struggling to give them everything while working full time after a divorce is such a real experience. They are funny together, loving, real, patient and kind. I truly spent every moment wondering what happened next and couldn't put it down. There is definitely some spice, but not too much and appropriately timed within the story. I love how other characters are incorporated into the story, including Josie's children. Their input and feelings on their mother and her relationship with Tyler really gives a perspective on how children are impacted by single parents. I especially loved the moments Josie has with her grandmother. I had many moments of laughing, crying and feeling genuine emotions with this little love story. Anyone who appreciates a good second chance romance would love this one!!
Jo and Tyler meet at a college party when Jo is 22. They both sneak away from the noise off into the Frat library, where they stay and talk all night. The night takes a turn and ends with them naked in each other’s arms. One unforgettable night, they’ll think about for the rest of their lives. Tyler leaves Jo a note as she sleeps the rain away. Unfortunately the next morning, the rain bleeds the ink and she looses her only point of contact with Tyler. She never even caught his last name. So, three weeks later when she finds out she’s pregnant, she looks and looks for Tyler but annoy find him. Flash forward 13 years and Tyler flies to a small town in Alabama to watch his cousin propose, and he runs into Jo and her family. Immediately, Tyler decides to stay and try to win Jo back. With no idea they share a child, he tries tirelessly to “woo” her. Tyler eventually finds out Abby is his daughter. He spends time tutoring her and coaching Jo’s son Jays basketball team. Every single knight in shining armor move Tyler can make, he does. He’s amazing. He ends up buying Josie’s dream house, adopting her son Jay, and helping her raise the two kids for the remainder of their lives. The epilogue shows them on their wedding day, and all the love they share. With a bonus story about Abby going off to college, we get to see this come full circle. This is a beautiful story about second chance romances in a small town and found family’s.

"For one night he was everything. The two of us were infinite and then were lost. But against all odds, every single one of them, we found each other again, wholly different but still the same."
Tyler and Josie had one perfect night together before circumstances pulled them apart. Fourteen years later, fate brings them back together.
I became emotionally invested in this story from the first chapter and devoured it in one sitting. Seeing Tyler and Jo as carefree young 20-somethings and then as more hardened 30-somethings was both realistic and emotional. Life had changed them in so many ways, and yet, I loved the glimmers we saw come through of their old selves, from that first time they met. Josie is a complex character who has gone through a lot of trauma in her life which dimmed her light, but Tyler, with his steadiness and unwavering devotion helps pull her out of that darkness as she slowly learns to trust again. Tyler (Clark Kent!), though not a man of many words, is an absolutely swoon-worthy MMC. It was easy to fall in love with Abby and Jay, too. The four of them make a messy, adorable little family.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review. This was a pleasure to read, and I highly recommend this book, especially if you enjoy second chance romances that tug (hard!) on your heart strings.
