Hope Creatures by Eleanor Feighery was a solid 5-star read for me! This dark mafia romance was fast-paced, addictive, and had me turning the pages nonstop. From the very first chapter, I was hooked by the danger, tension, and chemistry between Cassandra and Mikhail.
Cassandra is a business college student just trying to make it home after a night in the city with her best friend Sophia, a science major. But one wrong turn puts her in the middle of a violent shootout. When the chaos settles, she finds a dangerously beautiful man bleeding out on the ground with piercing blue eyes she can’t stop thinking about. Instead of running away, she saves him, holding pressure on his wound, calling an ambulance, and even taking his gun so he won’t get arrested before disappearing from his life completely.
Months later, she still can’t forget him… and neither can he forget her.
Mikhail was such a good mafia MMC. Cold, dangerous, touch-averse, and fully prepared to die that night, until Cassandra refused to let him. The fact that he hates physical touch but somehow doesn’t mind hers made their connection even better. Once he decides he’s going to find the girl who saved him, the obsession and intensity only grow from there.
The chemistry between them was incredible, the tension was nonstop, and the story balanced emotional moments with dark mafia danger perfectly. I loved how quickly the plot moved without feeling rushed, and every chapter gave me another reason to keep reading “just one more.”
If you love:
* Dark mafia romance * Obsessive MMCs * Touch-her-and-die energy * Morally gray characters * Instant connection with slow emotional unraveling * Protective, possessive heroes * Fast-paced romance with action and tension
…then you definitely need to pick this one up. I could not put it down.
