The magic is unique, the realms are unique. I am personal super fan of realm travel so I was immediately sucked in! The characters and worlds are beautiful! I did get irritated with Lyra but the reasons behind her doing what she was doing and the other characters kept me from disliking her! Her entire world was shattered in a day, I'm not sure there is right way to react to what she was going through! Lied to her whole life, pushed aside, abused at home bullied at school, not because he family doesn't have anything rather SIMPLY because she doesn't have an active Ore like the other kids have nor what her parents think she should have, they see her as beneath them, a stain. Gen is a true friend, she stands by her, stands up for her and helps her through school. She believes in Alyia and is the only one who doesn't mistreat her for having a dormant Ore, or so they allthink and treat her as such. And thank all the gods old and new for Chris her trainer, who truly cares for her and actually teaches her how to defend herself. She will need it!
In another realm we follow Ahirman...what a devious royal he is. An arrogant prince, god, RUTHLESS, mean, broken, beautiful, commanding! He will go to ANY lengths to get his way and he absolutely believes that he is superior to all...and then he is attacked and a dark matter begins to consume him. The girl with a dormant Ore is the only one who may be able to heal him.
We follow multiple povs as if we traveling through The Dreamscape ourselves! Each realm has it's own very noticeable environment and each character fits perfectly!
I highly recommend this to anyone wholes Sci-fi Fantasy! Romantasy!
Dreamscape by Mozie S. is a captivating and thought-provoking novel that combines elements of fantasy, psychological exploration, and self-discovery. Set against the backdrop of a surreal dreamworld, the story takes readers on a journey through the depths of the subconscious, blending reality and imagination in ways that leave the reader questioning what is real.
Plot:
The story centers around a protagonist who enters a world where dreams and reality are blurred, and the laws of the real world no longer apply. Within this strange new dimension, the protagonist must navigate through shifting landscapes, meet bizarre characters, and confront their deepest fears and desires. The plot itself is non-linear and complex, much like the labyrinthine nature of dreams. This structural choice keeps the reader on their toes, unsure of what will come next, but it also helps to illustrate the overwhelming and unpredictable nature of the dreamworld.
While at times the narrative can feel fragmented, it mirrors the experience of trying to make sense of a dream once you wake up—vivid, confusing, and occasionally unsettling. There are moments where the pacing slows, but this is often balanced by bursts of intensity that pull you back into the story.
Dreamscape if my first introduction to the sci fi genre. The prologue captivated me with the description of creation and predecessors of the main characters in the story.
This is the author’s debut novel, and first in a series. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and world. There is a lot unknown that I look forward to uncovering in the next book! The ending had me rushing to her social media asking when the next book would be released!
One word for this book amazing and I couldn't put it down. I'm excited to see where the next journey for Alyia and especially Chris. Side note if I met Chris I just want to talk to him give like five minutes with him mozies. I'm excited to read the second book.
