Final update: I passed the exam! But not thanks to this book, which seemingly misses half the information that you need to understand all the requirements of the exam. I recommend reading everything you can find about AI security, in particular attack types and their mitigation, on addition to checking out all referenced materials listed in this guide.

Update January 2026: I finally have my exam scheduled, so went through this book again. It still suffers from inconsistencies, bias and contradictions. I will update on Friday after I pass my exam about whether the book’s content actually matches the exam’s content.

A well-respected colleague convinced me I should take the exam for ISACA’s Advanced Artificial Intelligence Security Management. Given an impending career change and the general hype around AI, I agreed it would be a good idea.
I can only guess at this point that most information needed for the AAISM exam is in this book. The contents are a mess, though, seemingly written by several people without much coordination in terms of who writes what or alignment of style. It is also referring to several external publications that I still have to read.
As usual, ISACA uses their three-part setup for this book: Governance, Risk Management and Operational topics. In the case of this book, they should have reversed the order, as all the basic information about AI is presented in the third part and you need this background to understand the Governance and Risk Management implications.
Let’s see if I manage to pass the exam with this.
