With pearlescent hair and spring green eyes, he crashes into my world. I thought this crazy, beautiful man could mend my heart and make things normal. Instead, he pulls me from the embers and feeds me to the flames. What do you do when you’re both lost and on fire?

Review by the author...I know...that sounds silly. But this is the perfect place to warn you about the difference between Shattering Halos and Stargazer.

Stargazer is what I like to call a "standalonish" sequel to Shattering Halos; it can be read alone, but whoever reads Shattering Halos first will probably enjoy it even more.

Both books are New Adult Paranormal/Fantasy. The style might appear similar with its short, simple (yet lyrical, I've been told) sentences, and they're both quick, intense reads mostly strung together like film clips.

The difference lays in that I make no excuses in Stargazer. I take chances in order to make you feel. Stargazer is more New Adult, less Paranormal. It's more passionate, angstier, more unpredictable—just...MORE.

I don't expect Stargazer to be a people-pleaser. I don't think it will get many 3-star reviews. My guess is that you will either hate it or love it, and I'm hoping that at least some of you will love it to death—obsess over this new favorite of mine. If other readers choose less edgy novels, I will certainly understand.

Yes, so this "review" is a warning. Stargazer might not be as sweet as Shattering Halos.

Oh, and the five stars I just gave myself here? They're for effort. Yep, there's a lot of effort buried in this book. :)

xoxo

Sinfully good!

In the New Adult/Paranormal Romance, Stargazer (sequel to Shattering Halos), we get to witness a new side to the hot-as-HELL and naughty fallen angel, Cassiel.

The young, beautiful Luna, sister to Gaia from book one, catches Cassiel’s eye. Again. This time, her mix of sweet innocence and stubborn independence is too much for Cas to ignore. Luna sparks life into his dark heart, causing him to want things he never understood, let alone wanted before.

In this installment, we are introduced to hot new character, Ka, who causes Cas to do something he hasn’t had to do in hundreds of years—fight for what he wants.

With Sunniva Dee’s unique way of mixing genres, we are once again gifted with a blended new adult and paranormal romance, resulting in one stunning, page-turning novel.

They’re back! All the characters from Shattering Halos that you know and love have returned! Welcome back to the town of Shades Run, where Luna now attends college and lives with her sister, Gaia, and Gaia’s unearthly beautiful boyfriend, Gabriel. When Cassiel, Gabriel’s hotter-than-hell, bad-boy brother shows up, Luna has no idea the secrets the two keep about their true identities. But she will.

It’s so hard not to discuss every amazing detail in this book—because there are so many, but I really don’t want to ruin the surprise. What I can say on the subject is this: (1) Gaia has a secret that’s going to come out sooner or later, (2) Gabriel has a task that must be completed, (3) Cassiel might be more than just a naughty party boy, and (4) another angel, Ka, enters the picture.

What I loved about this book, and what Sunniva Dee really pushed the envelope with, were the characters. Each one of the main players—Luna, Ka, Cassiel—is a flawed in some way. And when three flawed characters get involved in a love triangle … well, things get real interesting! Dee could’ve backed away from trying to tackle this, but she didn’t. And, to be fair, this is not a story for the faint of heart. These characters make mistakes—sometimes over and over again. They get themselves into trouble. They yearn for things they believe they cannot have. You won’t find Prince Charming or the maiden who’s pure of heart here. You’ll find something else much truer: characters being human and dealing with situations imperfectly. It’s raw, honest, and sometimes strikes really close to home.

Also worth gushing over: Gaia and Gabriel! So happy they made an appearance in this book! Their relationship is so ridiculously adorable that I loved lingering in their world!

Lastly, and this is the spoiler I really am happy to share: the book is HEA (“happily ever after” for those of you who don’t do acronyms)! That’s all I’ll say on this, though I’m totally dying to gush about the ending as well!

Another phenomenal book from Sunniva Dee, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there will be another in this series!

Having read Shattering Halos, the story of Gaia and Guardian Angel Gabriel and meeting Cassiel the bad boy fallen Angel who gave no indication of changing his ways, reading Stargazer wasn't an option but a compulsion.

Luna is Gaia's sister who lives with her sister and her boyfriend Gabriel whilst attending college. She had a crush on Cassiel when she was fifteen and he just happens to turn up four years later. She is still attracted to him but giving in to her feelings would be like playing with fire. Cassiel on the other hand likes the good life and even though he is fascinated by Luna, he gives all indication that he intends to keep his way of life. Women, Champagne and strawberries being some of his pleasures!

Then there is Ka the other brother who wants Luna as his girlfriend but would Luna be better off with him? He too has his own flaws.

Reading this book was so worth it. It was nice to see more of Gaia and Gabriel and what transpires after Shattering Halos. Ms Dee doesn't give anything away and keeps you guessing right to the end. I would fully recommend this novel to those who like Angels, Bad Boys and a good love story. Even though this is a stand alone, it will be worth reading Shattering Halos too.

The other thing I want to say is Please Ms, can I have some more?

I got to be a beta-reader for this awesome sequel, and it is the sort of book that just draws you in from the start! Exciting, sexy, and funny too, I was intrigued to see what the new main angel snide-and-saucy Cassiel was up to, and why in the hell he was giving boring mortal Luna so much attention?! Especially after his low opinion on Gabriel's "nonsense" in the last book with the "moving of heaven and earth" for his lowly mortal gal :P

In short; I highly recommend it for any lovers of sass, terribly good-looking but not-so-good boys, (heh, "boys"!) and romance. This one is a nail-biter people, free up your afternoons when this hits the shelves!

I have been anticipating the release of Stargazer ever since I finished Shattering Halos. Why you ask? Well, because it was amazing and I enjoyed the story tremendously, but really I just wanted more of Cassiel. Don't know who Cassiel is? Well, just stop reading right this second and pick up Shattering Halos so you can be properly introduced to this fine, sexy, hot Fallen Angel. Sunniva Dee certainly did step up the heat level with the latest installment, Stargazer. Where Shattering Halos was a sweet and touching love story, Stargazer was a scorching inferno of HOTNESS! I mean look at the gorgeous cover! It just screams that this book is going to be HOT!

So, what went on during Stargazer you ask? Well....this:

Luna is obsessed with Cassiel (and who wouldn't be?) but is getting frustrated with him. He is still the playboy we have grown to love and lust over. Cassiel still loves his women - BUT, he has grown quite fond of Luna but can't convince her of that. All Luna sees is a horny playboy who will never settle down, especially with her. The sexual tension between the two is hot and you will be begging for them to get their act together and do something about it.

Just when you think the drama could not get any more intense between Luna and Cassiel, we are introduced to Ka, as he crash lands into Luna's bedroom. Ka is an angel with a lot of issues. Ka is like this huge overgrown kid wrapped up in muscular, sexy body. He's confusing as hell too. One minute you will think you love his innocent, child-like mind and then the next you want to strangle him for being a sadistic, lying, cheating prick. I know......such a confusing man. But the sad thing is that Luna is falling for him. It's her way to get her mind off Cassiel. But you know the old saying, you want what you can't have? Well, now that Ka is in the picture, Cassiel just isn't himself as he wants Luna all to himself. But is it too late?

I absolutely loved Stargazer! It was so much edgier and sexier than the previous book. I must admit that I was frustrated at times with Luna and her decision making, but then everything came together especially after the 'L' word was used. I actually had a Hallelujah moment...singing from the mountain tops praising the Good Lord Almighty because miracles can happen, and one did within the pages of this book! (I know....a little dramatic, but heck, it is what it is). And that is what you get with this novel, an amazing story that is so easy to get swept into and one where you really connect with the characters and feel like you are involved with them.

Sunniva Dee is an amazing writer and her books get better and better with each release. Her writing really draws you into the story and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very last page is read. Stargazer is indeed an amazing story and is one that I would recommend to anyone looking to read a scorching hot, intense romance. But be warned...once you start this book, you will not want to put it down, so clear the calendar for this one!

Thank you to Sunniva for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review

So when I regretfully got to the end of this book I'm sure I made a noise kinda like "mmmmmhhhmmurgh" which is a good noise and this noise is what came out of me once I had read the last few paragraphs.

Why? One word......Cassiel.

Damn him, damn him to oblivion with his arrogant yet bewitching ways, his gorgeous good looks and his wicked personality make him one heck of a package, just hold on a minute I need to fan myself.

Right, still here? Good, let me continue, Stargazer is the follow up to the sensational Shattering Halos, this time Gaia and Gabriel take a back seat bringing to the forefront Gaia's younger sister Luna.

Now before I say anymore, I think you could read this without having read Shattering Halos but I wouldn't recommend it as you will miss an awesome read, anyway Luna is a lot older, now at college and growing in to a stunning young woman, one that has been noticed by Cassiel, Gabriel's brother.

But she is off limits to him Gaia is pretty insistent that this roguish angel keep his mitts or should it be wings off of her little sis. But being a woman Luna of course is totally capable of making her own bad decisions, will Cassiel be one of them?

This book isn't just about Luna and Cassiel, we do get to see more about how Gaia and Gabriel's relationship is progressing, still crazily in love with one another, they overcome everything life throws at them but Gaia is not well and Gabriel can't seem to do enough to help her, both him and Luna fear for her health, can Gaia return from her brink?

Stargazer also introduces us to Ka, Cassiel and Gabriel's brother whose instant attraction to Luna totally pisses off Cassiel and when things start to heat up between Ka and Luna, well I for one was not happy, my poor Cassiel, is Luna going to end up with Ka whose schizophrenic personality makes Cassiel shine in a totally different light.

Stargazer is not Shattering Halo's and I don't mean that as a bad thing, Cassiel is nothing like Gabriel and for that I am glad, I have read series in the past where book after book is a carbon copy of the last but just has different characters or places, Sunniva has done brilliantly in following on from Halo's using the same characters but injecting even more chemistry, sizzling sex appeal and an amazing plot that flows wonderfully all the way through linking our main characters and their lives.

Does Luna get her angel, which one will she choose, if at all? Will Gaia recover from her troubles? Will Cassiel get his girl? So many questions, if you want answers head on over to your favourite bookstore and grab your copy now!

I thoroughly enjoyed this, I know I read on Goodreads that this will be a Marmite kinda read, for my international readers I mean you will either love it or hate it, well I loved it and I hope this isn't the last we hear from them, I for one could stand to read some more about my favourite bad angel.

Awarded 5 out of 5

Stargazer is an exciting new Paranormal Romance and can be read as a stand-alone. However, even though is not necessary to read Shattering Halos first, I feel that it does give you a better understanding of Gaia, Gabriel and Cassiel....

Stargazer follows the story of Luna. Luna is an outsider looking in. She has no idea the truth about who or what Gabriel and Cassiel really are. She has her suspicions and knows that there is something different about them, but could never imagine what they truly are.

Everything seems to be going along fine until Gabriel and Cassiel's brother, Ka shows up. Soon Luna will find herself caught between two men. Luna will be left to learn a very important lesson. And that lesson is that things and people are not always what they seem. Will Luna make the right decision before it's too late??

One of the things that I loved about this book was that it was told from multiple points of view. Yes, sometimes, it can be confusing. But when it's done right, it adds so much to the story. I loved getting a look inside Cassiel's head. I finally understand why he behaved the way that he did and how hard he tried to fight the things that he was feeling.Ka was another one that was very interesting. In the whole battle of good vs evil, I enjoyed seeing him submerged into the human world and hard it was to adjust to things. I definitely had a love/hate relationship with his character.

As far as Gaia and Gabriel, I really just enjoyed being around them again. Their love for one another is so strong. After everything that they endured from Shattering Halos, it was so good to see how their life was after.

And last but not least, Luna. She was so stubborn and frustrated me at times. I wanted to yell at her and tell her to choose who I wanted her to be with. In the end though, she listened to me ;)

Stargazer was a very enjoyable read for me. It was a little bumpy in the beginning, but the pacing quickly improved. I really enjoyed the paranormal aspects of the story and of course, the multiple points of view. Stargazer was sexy, full of angst and romance and of course what would a paranormal be without a little action!

I think that Stargazer had the perfect ending. Everything wrapped up pretty nicely. However, I won't object to another visit into this world.....

Amazing sequel! Angels, angels, angels. And this one is filled with the one that sizzles under our skin--the one and only Cassiel. We want so much for this bad-boy angel to turn to good, but what will that take? I mean, really. This fallen angel loves being fallen and all the perks that come with it. Why would he change his wicked ways?

So I totally love the brother dynamic in this book! They act like real brothers if all real brothers had supernatural powers. Sunniva Dee has these angels down pat! Just awesome!

This book has more twists than its predecessor, Shattering Halos, so look out! It has you guessing from start to finish, but also has your heart aching for that perfect ending. Because it can only end one way--Cassiel fans, you'll know what I mean.

I can't wait for more angst angels, so bring 'em on!

Sunniva took it up several notches in this book! In Shattering Halos Gabriel just snatched up my heart but Cassel - there just always seemed to be more to this mischief maker! In this book we see a lot of Gabriel, Gaia and other celestials from the first book make an appearance as well. But Casssiel and his borderline wayward ways steal the show! This is a wonderful follow up novel that gives us a new story but gives an update on things that happened in the first. A very wonderful read that will have you searching for your very own angel, possibly a fallen one!

It's been four years since Gabriel was allowed to stay with Gaia. As the time has gone on, the fear of what could happen still owns Gaia's thoughts and she is pushed time and time again to the brink of depression. Having Luna, Gaia's sister, living in their cottage, makes it hard to Gaia and Gabriel to be open with what they went through four years ago. Gaia made the decision to keep Luna ignorant to all things angel and does this for her own protection. Unfortunately Gabriel's 'brother' Cassiel has other ideas.... and he begins to seek out Luna for his own. As good and honorable as Gabriel is, Cassiel is the opposite.... in EVERY way. As obstacles litter the path of their serenity and Gaia's fears become a realization, its only a matter of time before HE descends. And HE has the power to destroy them, wipe them out, erase all of them. Will Gabriel and Gaia ever get their happily ever after? Will Luna resist Cassiel's charm, his over the top, out of this world charisma? Or have the choices of the past already concreted their futures?

This was an AMAZING SEQUEL to an already amazing first book! This is not a stand alone book, so please read the book in series order or you will be left scratching your head. I loved the spiciness of this book and all the angles that Sunniva Dee gave us will all the characters. I know that writing a book with multiple POVs can be challenging for some authors, but she nailed it! I really hope that Ka gets his own taste of heaven, no pun intended, and happily ever after! If you like hot men with angelic powers, even if they are a bit naughty, you will LOVE THIS SERIES!

Sunniva just keeps getting better, and better!!

This. Book. Is. Hot!!

The sexy bad boy Angel is back. And he is in fine, rare form.

Cassiel is a big ole woman-loving, very tempting package wrapped in a big red bow.
He doesn't want to give up his wild playboy ways, never really even thought of doing it, that is until he met her...

Luna is young, extremely stubborn, and Gaia's sister. She has had a crush on Cassiel since she was 15. Now after four years he is back, and hotter than ever.

But Cassiel isn't the only Angel who has appeared.

Ka. Gabriel, and Cassiel brother has made appearance in Lunas life as well. And he has captured her attention.

Now that Ka has entered the pictured will Cassiel finally quit his wild ways and make Luna his one and only? Or will it be too late for them?

I loved this book, just as much as the first one. A definite must-read!!

This is the 2nd book in the delicious Halos series. It can be read as a standalone, but to get a better taste of Gaia, Gabriel, and Cassiel you should definitely read the first book. You will not be disappointed.

This is the second book in the Halo saga. This one revolves around Luna, cassiel and Ka. Ka and Cassiel are Gabriels brothers. They have quite the reputation for being quite the ladies men. They love women and oh my do the girls love them.
Luna is Gaia's younger sister. She met Cassiel briefly when she was 15 but now 4 years later he is back. Luna is beautiful, young, sexy, innocent and stubborn! She is so not what Cassiel should be lusting after. Cassiel never understood the infatuation that Gabriel had with loving a mere mortal but that is all about to change. He begins to feel things that he never knew exsisted. He can't seem to get Luna out of his head no matter who or what he does. Now on the other hand we have Ka and he comes with his own list of baggage. Let the games begin and the brothers soon become rivals.
What an amazing story of fantasy!!!

Even though this is the second book to Sunniva Dee's Halos series, she has crafted it so beautifully that first time readers can join right in without a pause. I loved joining Gaia's sister Luna for her journey in this book as she is torn between two unearthly men, and even MORE excited to see a lot of my favorite bad boy, Cassiel. And fear not, our favorite duo from Shattering Halos (book 1), Gaia and Gabriel, are very much still around!

I look forward to many more novels from Sunniva Dee...I fly through them!

I absolutely loved this book. This is the second book of The Halo Series. Gabriel and Gaia are adorable. Then Luna, Gaia's sister moves in. Gaia and Gabriel are trying their best to keep Luna from learning that Gabriels and Angel. When Cassiel shows up he drives Luna wild with desire, but she fights all the urges to go to him. She wants him to admit that he wants her and her alone. Then out of nowhere brother number 3 shows up. Naked in Lunas bedroom. Oh yeah, this gets really good!! This is a great storyline. I couldn't put it down. Neither will you!!

3.5 STARS

Stargazer is a continuing story of the Angel Brothers, who are very much into the Samuelle sisters. As much as this story is really suppose to focus on Gaia’s younger sister Luna, we still get a lot of Gaia and Gabrielle love story. As always Gaia and Gabrielle are very loving and will do anything for each other.

Then there’s Luna, Gaia’s sister who first met Gabriel’s brother Cassiel when she was only 15. The day she met him was also the day she fell in love with him. Four years later, years after Cassiel stayed away from the only person that drove him crazy..he was back only wanting Luna more. All grown up, more beautiful than he remembered and feistier than ever. With Gaia’s warning to stay away from Luna, he tried to keep his promise by drowning himself with a different woman almost every night. But while working hard to stay away from Luna, another one of their brothers fell. Ka is as gorgeous as his brothers are, but he was a little crazy and said everything as he knows them and feel. Luna figured the only way to keep away from Cassiel, was to spend time with his lunatic brother Ka. Ka was crazy and wouldn’t let go of Luna, but he was no better than Cassiel. Ka is worse, he did things and believe himself that his reasons and excuses will fix it all. He slept with her and made her believe she was his world, but when she’s not around is a whole other story. This is one the love triangle begun…

 photo Stargazer-Teaser.jpg

Will Luna ever figure out who she really loves? Is it Cassiel? Or Ka?
What about Cassiel, will he stop his womanizing ways, to be with Luna if she gives him a chance?

Luna’s story is nothing like her sister. Luna is very young and learning about life. Luna is all over the place and always trying to figure who is good for her and at the same time she hurts the person that loves her the most, without even realizing it. The change that Luna goes through once she figures herself out is amazing and the ending makes up for everything.

Angst filled but oh so satisfying!
There's is a lot of heartfelt angst in this book. Luna, Cassiel, and Ka are all hurt and broken in their own ways and each is trying to lessen the hurt. Their methods may not be the best but we often times try to protect ourselves from hurting by whatever means we can find and they do the same. Be ready for the struggles.

If you read Shattering Halos then you'll be happy to know that not only do we see Gaia and Gabriel, but their relationship and life continues to develop also. ;) For those of you who have read Adrenaline, there's even a quick bit with Cameron in it! :)

And the ending. Oh the ending. All the angst was worth it. The ending is so happy and rewarding, not to mention sexy. It was hot, hot, hot. I don't think it could have ended better for Cassiel and Luna. Definitely worth a read.

Frustrating, but Great!

I'm so thrilled to finally have read Stargazer. I love that the story focused more on Cassiel and Luna. Although Luna frustrated the hell out of me from time to time, it was still a great book. I also feel that all of Luna's actions, as a young outsider to the Heavenly world, made sense for her charcater. I hope Sunniva chooses to write more about these characters some day.
