This is a terrific book about discovering what core belief about yourself is untrue and how to fill your mind with the truth from the bible to combat it. The hardest part is recognizing that you believe a lie. It is a well-written, encouraging book that I enjoyed and would recommend to everyone.

Family friendly.

Thanks to NetGalley and Nelson Books. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Love

1st book of hers I've read. It was great. It went along with our sermons too. Wild how God does that for us. Book club was fun with a new group of ladies. I love how God surrounds us with love and his timing is perfect.

Read this book!

I don’t say this lightly, more people need to read The Lie You Don’t Know You Believe by Jennie Allen.

This book doesn’t just encourage you, it exposes you in the best way. It helped me realize that so many of the struggles I’ve dealt with for years weren’t just habits or personality traits… they were lies I had believed for a long time without even realizing it.

Lies like:

* “I’m not enough”
* “I have to earn love”
* “If people really knew me…”

And the scary part? I wasn’t even questioning them.

What this book does so well is connect that internal battle to what Scripture has been saying all along, especially verses like 2 Corinthians 10:5.

This book helped me start doing that; naming the lies, confronting them, and replacing them with truth.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re constantly trying to prove yourself… this isn’t just a good read. It’s a necessary one.
