Snow Much Trouble

Rate this book
One blizzard. One blanket fort. And one bourbon-fueled kiss that changes everything.

I need a win. I’ve been a struggling songwriter long enough that I’m about to get dumped by my publishing house if I don’t write The Best Christmas Song Ever for an up and coming country star. My plan? Total solitude in a Smoky Mountains chalet with just my guitar, a roaring fire, and a mug of hot cocoa. Bonus points if it snows.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear…a smoking hot stranger and a cabin full of fake rustic reindeer.

Dylan Lennox owns a bourbon distillery and he’s ridiculously—seriously, almost obnoxiously—good looking. He claims the chalet was promised to him for the weekend when I know full well it was promised to me. We’re in the middle of a standoff involving thermostat wars and a bourbon tasting when I get my wish.

Snow.

So much of the fluffy stuff that the power goes out, the roads are impassable, and a tree has decided to give it all up for lost and fallen down across our driveway.

We’re not going anywhere. Might as well get to know each other over board games and piping hot cocoa spiked with bourbon.

And honestly, we really need to share body heat because baby, it’s cold outside.

I’m officially inspired by blanket forts and Dylan Lennox.

But when the snow clears, I need to get back to Nashville with a hit song and Dylan has to return to his family distillery in Kentucky.

That’s when I find myself wishing for more snow.

Because unexpected holiday flings aren’t supposed to feel this real…

Snow Much Trouble is a cozy, flirty, laugh-out-loud holiday novella perfect for fans of snarky banter, forced proximity, and the kind of heat that melts more than snow.

Snow Much Trouble was a solid, enjoyable holiday romance that landed comfortably at four stars for me. Erin McCarthy delivers a story that’s light, entertaining, and perfect for when you want something festive without a heavy emotional lift.
The pacing is one of the book’s strengths — it moves along quickly and keeps things engaging without dragging. The romance is fun and easy to follow, and the winter setting adds a nice seasonal backdrop without overpowering the story.
While it didn’t quite reach five-star territory for me, I still had a good time reading it. It’s the kind of book you can breeze through, enjoy in the moment, and walk away satisfied.
Overall, Snow Much Trouble is a good pick if you’re looking for a quick, cheerful holiday romance that delivers exactly what it promises.

The premise of this book is not an original idea. There have been several Hallmark movies and many books written about couples winding up in the same cabin and getting snowed in together. The idea has gotten old. I even remember a book or two about someone singing at a Christmas market.

I skipped most of the book because it was all the same as those books I have read. Nothing new. Too bad I spent money on the book.

Purchased this in November as she's been one of my favorite authors but this book just didn't resonate with this reader.

Her "Fast Track" and "Vegas Series" may be decades old. But these series seemed to hold humor, fast paced plot and flawed characters.

This book was just ho hum. Even the unexpected proximity in this book failed to deliver.

got scrabble words wrong?

Is there a W in quiz? What? I can suspend belief for a cute story but how did this get past an editor? Definitely snowed in Christmas feels, holiday food, great chemistry. Then the next scrabble example was wrong too!

One of my favorite holiday novellas I’ve read!! Comfortable pace, angst with spice, the ending wasn’t rushed and I don’t feel overpromised or underwhelmed. Loved loved LOVED!!!

Cute and quick but with steam!

I love Erin McCarthy books! This was a quick read but hit all the right spots for a fun Christmas story! Snowed in at a cabin where they each thought they were supposed to be the only one there! Classic!

I’m doing a challenge where a book needs to be read weekly based on a description. This week’s had have snow on the cover. This one was cute, short, and 100% predictable.

Quickie review: 3.5 stars. Cute book. This is a novella with an aspiring songwriter who gets snowed in with a guy when her cabin is double booked It was sweet, if a little slow moving, but enjoyable.

This has got to be AI written. First of all the tone and style does not match any of her other books. Then there are all the grammatical errors…not to mention entire words just missing like it was pieced together like a puzzle. Surely something ANYONE who read through it before publishing would have caught. What a disappointment.
