I had the privilege of proofreading this one. If you're looking for a sweet romance with characters in their 50s finding love after loss, look no further!
This is a beautiful story about finding love later in life and learning that life can continue on after loss.
Ginny is about to lose her apartment, Bennet needs a wife to save his family business. Their choice a marriage of convenience, but when a freak snowstorm traps them in, they will be force to co-exist and the walls they have raised around their hearts will slowly start to crack. But what happens when the contract starts to feel real? How will their children react?
This is a later in life romance. Both MCs are widower and still grieving their lost HEA, but as their moments together push them to confront life, they will gain a new perspective in life and decide that a second chance at HEA might be possible, that life does not end after you lose your partner, and maybe there is a large adventure still to experience together.
The Snowmance Contract stars Virginia and Bennett. Both in their 50’s, widowed, and lonely.
Virginia can’t afford to stay in her home. Bennett needs a wife to keep up appearances. Getting married to each other is the answer. A marriage on paper to both benefit from. But when feelings arise, it gets complicated.
Especially when Ginny’s daughter Adelaide (remember her from the first book in the series?) and Bennett’s daughter Cynthia (from book 2) find out.
I liked the book. The trope is very much been-there-done-that but the main characters being older is refreshing. It’s a bit slow sometimes and could do with some more deeper delving into feelings and thoughts, but overall it’s a nice read.
The Snowmance Contract is a novel by Pizzas Bruce. I thought that the author wrote 2 fabulous characters that I found I wanted to read about. Virginia and Bennett have both lost their spouses. A marriage of convenience seems like an answer to problems they each have. But, when snow traps them… It is definitely not convenient. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
This was a great read! Virginia and Bruce are both widows and facing different struggles in life. Together, they just might be avle to help the other one. A marriage of convenience seems like the perfect plan but we all know how the best plans often go awry!! These two were great! Their story was fabulous!
Like the snowstorm in this book love is a force of nature you have no influence on, but when the outcome is finding your perfect match like Virginia and Bennett do, who wants to reason with fate and the elements?
I always appreciate when an author gives us an older couple for the main characters so I was really looking forward to this story. I enjoyed it and flew through it as I kept waiting for them to realize the feelings were real. At some points though, the characters seemed younger than they were supposed to be, especially Virginia’s daughter and at times, Bennett. I also just think the story needed a little more development.
