One night. One mistake. One chance to make it right.
He’s the hacker. The playboy. The one-night stand she should’ve forgotten. She’s the librarian who can’t outrun her past.
Ranger has always kept things casual—no names, no strings. Until the woman he once took hard and fast in the back of a bar ends up half-dead in his care, wasted away from months inside the ring.
Marla wants nothing more than to hide. But when her best friend becomes the traffickers’ next target, she steps into the fight, and Ranger is right there, steady and unrelenting, even as guilt tears him apart.
Ranger is the fourth book in the Iron Battalion MC series. It is dark, gritty, and addictive. Please check the trigger warnings on the author's website.
Savannah Rylan writes dirty-talking motorcycle club and mafia romance filled with ruthless men, ride-or-die loyalty, and women who don’t back down.
She has a soft spot for anti-heroes with scars, found family dynamics, and enemies-to-lovers stories that make her heart melt. If there’s a morally gray biker growling “mine,” she’s one happy girl.
When she’s not plotting revenge arcs and steamy showdowns, Savannah is wrangling two tiny humans, two chaotic dogs, and a husband who has fully accepted that fictional bikers pay the bills. She’s known for rocking rainbow hair (usually some shade of pink or purple), surviving East Coast winters with dramatic flair, and drinking coffee like it’s water.
Originally from sunny California, she now lives where it snows, which she deeply resents. But at least it gives her more time to stay inside and write about men who prefer leather cuts over parkas.
If you love possessive heroes, high-stakes drama, and spice that fogs up the windows, you’re in the right place.
RANGER is the fourth instalment in Savannah Rylan’s contemporary, adult IRON BATTALION MC erotic, MC romance series. This is hacker and MC member Ranger aka Miles, and Marla’s story line. RANGER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise throughout. Some of the events of RANGER cross over with, and run parallel to the events of book three GHOST.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told for dual first person perspectives ( Ranger and Marla) RANGER follows in the aftermath of the rescue of our story line heroine. Months earlier, Marla was rescued by the Iron Battalion MC, as a survivor of a human trafficking ring, a ring that was still in operation to this day but Marla’s recovery is long, as she struggles with nightmares and memories, and the loss of her best friend, missing and presumed in the hands of the ring. With the help of Ranger, a man she met the night she went missing, Marla sees slow progress in her recovery but continues to spiral when perceived threats are heightened by previous abuse.
The world building follows the mental and physical recovery of our story line heroine, as well as the search for the people responsible.
The relationship between Ranger and Marla begins as a rescue but Marla struggles in the wake of nightmares and PTSD. As Ranger begins a slow seduction of the woman that calls to his heart, Marla steps on the road to recovery in the hopes of finding what happened to her best friend. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line characters. We are introduced to Marlas friend Lizzie.
RANGER is a story of rescue and recovery, friendships and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is fast paced, captivating and edgy: the romance is fated and seductive; the characters are determined and desperate.
This is the fourth book in the series and continues the MCs quest to bring down the trafficking ring in and around their territory. It is a dark read so check the trigger warnings. Remember the young women chased out of the woods in the third book? Well, that is Marla who coincidentally is also the woman with whom Ranger had a one night stand. Turns out she was taken that night when she left the bar and is so severely traumatized, that she stays hidden in Ranger's closet. Little by little she begins to trust Ranger who feels guilty that he didn't walk her to her car that night. Theirs is very much a one step forward, two steps to back relationship and even after Ranger coaxes her out of the closet, she refuses to to leave the room. Only gradually joining the others in the clubhouse. They have lots to work through before obtaining their HEA and through it all, the MC continues to gather information about the trafficking ring.

Ranger is the tech man for the Iron Battalion MC. He went to Ghost’s bar to find a woman for the night. He found the perfect woman and they had sex in the janitorial closet. Marla remembered the man from the bar and she used the memory of that night to get her through 7 months of captivity. Marla escaped and ran through the woods until she finally saw a compound, a car was chasing her. Marla fell in to the arms of a man who took care of her until she could face the world again. Marla realized that the man who saved her was the man from the bar. Ranger realized that Marla was the woman from the bar. Marla stayed in Ranger’s closet only leaving for the bathroom. Ranger has been taking very good care of Marla. They develop feelings for each other. One day all of the club got a video sent of a woman being tortured, she turned out to be Marla’s best friend Lizzie. Will Ranger and Ghost save Lizzie? Will Ranger and Marla get a happy ending? This is one of those books that comes from a darkness that has you rooting for the victim of trafficking and praying they can rebuild their life after everything that happened to them. Marla, the quiet librarian, was taken on the night she first met Ranger but now months later she shows up at the Iron Battalions MC clubhouse after running for her life from her captors. Ranger hardly recognized her after everything that was done to her but now makes it his mission to help her find her way back to the living after dealing with extreme PTSD. The patience that Ranger shows to Marla is beyond what you would expect from anyone much less a biker.
This was a story of survival and being able to find trust in someone who would lay down their life for you now. This ending also had a great lead in to Doc’s story which I cannot wait to get started on as these books are huge page turners.
First thing you should know is that this book has more triggers than an NRA swap meet. There is an excellent trigger warning in the book’s front matter, so please review it well before you choose whether you read the book, because mental health and safety are really important. If you’re still with me, I loved this book. The FMC has been recovered after being trafficked, and Ranger is so gentle, kind, and patient with her, and so careful of her triggers. It was beautiful. Marla is much stronger than she thinks. Ranger is totally hawt (with long hair, a beard, and lots of fuzz) and he is a recovering man Ho-ho-ho. Which is how he and Marla originally met, but that’s part of the story. Heat- explicit Bechdel test- passed Safety? N Tropes- abused heroine on the run, remember me, reformed man Ho-ho-ho, one night stand.

This is the 4th story in the Iron Battalion MC Series and the darkest of them to date with everything Marla has experienced at the hands of the trafficking ring. One night she goes out for a drink at the MC owned bar and meets Ranger and they have an intimate moment together and months later Marla finds herself in the MC’s parking lot after escaping and running from her torture. Ranger puts himself in charge of helping Marla recover not realizing who she is due to how badly her body has been beaten and the patience and care he gives Marla is something special. With his mission clear to protect and heal Marla they grow closer and both realize what they really mean to one another starting with their 1st night together. It’s beautiful to see how Ranger helps Marla with her PTSD. Marla’s survival shows her she can trust again and be more than what she endured for months at the hands of monsters. This is a very intense, emotional raw, put your heart through a wringer book. Marla and Ranger's romance is another piece of the ongoing story that is unfolding over the course of this series, and it is by far the most dark, gritty and impactful of the bunch. At least in my opinion and so far. Marla, Oh Marla had my heart aching, breaking and totally shattering for her but I also found myself awed by her strength, her will to survive and the hard work she put in to recover herself. Ranger too was an incredible character. The guilt he felt and the compassion and support he showed to Marla showed exactly the kind of heart he had and what a terrific man he was. Neither had an easy time of it, so prepare yourself emotionally before diving in and be sure to check out the trigger warnings to make sure you take care of you.
Ranger/Miles is the club hacker, the club is trying to take down the trafficking ring in town. Some of the girls they have rescued have become old ladies to members. He had one night stand with the town librarian, who months later comes running into the club, she is in bad shape. She has lost a lot of weight and has cuts and bruises all over her body. She is suffering so much trauma, she will not leave the closet in Ranger's room, she sleeps and eats there. Ranger is determined to help her get better on her own timetable.
This may be triggering for some due to the recounting of abuse that Marla suffered. The series should be read in order due to the overarching story line, the trafficking plot has not been resolved.

This is a very intense and emotional biker romance that leans into darkness—not through the actions of the main characters, but through the mental and emotional places they are in. The female main character is a survivor of trafficking, and her journey toward healing is handled with care and depth. The male main character stands out through his patience and compassion, giving her the space, time, and support she needs to heal. What makes this story special is how naturally the romance develops. It doesn’t rush, but allows the characters to grow together at a believable pace. At the same time, there is enough external tension and threat to keep the story engaging throughout. Overall, it’s a well-written, thoughtful romance that balances emotional healing with suspense.

Marla’s story is both heartbreaking and powerful. After escaping a horrific trafficking situation, she finds refuge with the Rangers MC, where safety is something she’s never truly known—until now. Ranger, drawn to Marla from the start, shows patience and compassion as he helps her begin the long road to healing while also seeking justice against those who hurt her.
This fast-paced story doesn’t shy away from the darker realities, but it’s balanced with themes of resilience, second chances, and the courage to move forward. Ranger and Marla’s connection grows through trust and understanding, making their journey both emotional and rewarding.
A gripping read filled with intensity, heart, and hope.

'Marla wants nothing more than to hide. But when her best friend becomes the traffickers’ next target, she steps into the fight, and Ranger is right there, steady and unrelenting, even as guilt tears him apart.'

This is a slow burn high heat story that brings pain, PTSD, suspense, steam and healing in its plot. Be aware of your triggers when reading this story as it describes some detailed scenes.
Ranger is the hacker of the MC and was part of the trafficking ring rescue, that is how he met MArla. She is still healing from the time there, but nightmares and PTSD are still present, plus she wants to discover what happened to her friend. Ranger is careful with her while also exploring his attraction to her. HE shows care, attention and slowly will start to help her deal with the damage,
A great story.

One thing that I forgot to say about these books, there are some triggers so read the intros. The main storyline continues but now we have Rangers part. Ranger has already met his FMC but doesn't realise it yet. The MC finds a running, injured female and take her in to help her feel safe. She keeps away not trusting anyone until she starts to relate to Ranger and he realises who she is. So this is their story but it is all still connected. The characters were appealing and relatable. I don't say much in my reviews as I hate to give out too much and spoil story's for others but I'm enjoying this series.
Ranger and Marla’s story has her escaping the ring and being there for months before she runs into the MC compound into Ranger’s arms. These two had sex in the bar and she was taken on her way home. These two MC is still gathering intel but when a video shows up, they find out the lady in it was Marla’s bf, Lizzie. Now they need to get her out. This is an on going story that started with the first story. I am patiently waiting for the others in this series.

Ever since Ghost's book when a mysterious woman was chased onto their clubhouse, I have been dying to know more about her. Ranger comes off like a big giant playboy—and surprisingly that's exactly what he is. But he has a deeply caring side, especially when Marla comes crashing into his world. The things Marla endured almost broke me, and I loved how sweet and patient he was with her. The stakes keep rising, and the pieces are slowly falling into place—I am still hooked. Can't wait to find out what happens next!

Book 4 of Iron Battalion MC series, this is about Marla and Ranger. Marla is dealing with PTSD and Ranger is determined to help her through it. I love that Ranger is patient and soft for Marla, and that Marla feels safe with him. He was the light to her darkness, and she had to work slowly to come back to herself. I’m excited to read Doc’s story next.

This was a great story of a hot night, kidnapping, and a trafficking ring. Ranger helps Marla when he finds her beaten and barely hanging on. Only to find out that after their hot moment in the closet, she was kidnapped in her way home Ava thrown into a trafficking ring for eight months. She escaped but then finds out they’re targeting her friend. She wants to go back in. And Ranger is there by her side. This was intense and suspenseful. Sweet and steamy. A perfect read.
Another great MC romance in the Iron Battalion MC series. This is the story of Ranger and Marla. Once again, like the previous books in the series, I didn't want to put the book down. The storyline pulls you in and keeps you there reading later than anticipated. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Book 4 in the Iron Battalion MC, this is Ranger's story, continuing investigating the trafficking ring. Ranger is the MC's hacker. Marla is the girl that was chased out of the woods in book 3 and the girl that Ranger had a 1 night stand with before she was captured. Enter lots of guilt and trauma. This is a 1 step forward 5 steps back story.Lots of work to get to their HEA but they do make it..
Ranger is book 4 in the Iron Battalion MC series and is Ranger and Marla's story. It's an engaging, emotional, dark story. It's a great read and seeing the changes that come about in ladies man Ranger after he finds Marla was just spectacular. She needed someone patient, kind and understanding and he was all of that and so much more. Absolutely a fantastic addition to this series!

When Maria decides to help her friend, she finds herself in the grasp of the traffickers herself. She escapes but PTSD is part of her life now. Ranger comes to her aid, and he is protective and helps her through it all. It is a great storyline and that had me connecting with them.

This is the 4th book in the captivating series, well-written and packed with so much drama and emotion. This series isn't for everyone, Please check the trigger warnings. Ranger and Maria have a sizzling past and now she's in his care after being kept in the trafficking ring. Good Story.
Ranger only does casual, knows as a playboy until Marla, and when shes found nearly half dead from the trafficking ring and her friend now in the trafickers sights she can only reply on one man to keep her safe and grounded. Well written engaging steamy desires dark themes and more.
Ranger & Marla was at the same bar, and hooked up in the broom closet. She left to walk home and got kidnapped, held for 8 months. Marla escaped into the woods, she ran, and ran some more, until she fell, and Ranger caught her. I highly recommend this.
