This book kept me on my toes… especially the final battle. I would love to read more adventures from this author. The only downfall of this book is that I wish it Hadn’t ended!

I've known the author for years, and the poor man had to put up with me as a student back in his early days as a teacher - As I read this, I was reminded of the many hours I badgered him with questions about D&D, since he was the only adult I knew back then who actually played the game. Each story gave reminded me of all the old adventures my friends and I played out starting in high school (and some of us still play together now in our 40s), so I have to say that the author succeeded in capturing his own stories like the ones he enjoyed back in the day, as he explained in the foreword. Hope to see more of them in the future!

Full disclosure: the author is a good friend, a former teacher many moons ago, and the bane of my card-gaming existence (seriously, I almost NEVER win against him). I have played D&D and games of the sort for almost 30 years, and I have in fact played with the author at times. So when I say he nailed the feel of a good D&D adventure, with plenty of banter between characters, I speak from experience. And I’m here to tell you, he did indeed nail it. At times I felt my hand wanting to roll dice to determine what would happen next. Just a good, fun read. With any luck, I’m going to get my son (also a student of his) to read it next, even though it doesn’t have any pictures. Might need to work on that next time, Ries, to capture the younger crowd. lol.
