I am the author of many different types of books. Some are technical and others are fanciful. Illustrated books are my favorite. I believe that you can capture a reader’s attention with a good story but amazing artwork will reel them in and keep them riveted.
Check out my newest series titled Magical Elements of the Periodic Table. Books are presented by unicorns, dragons and wizards. It's Techno-Magical.
Boo's Shoes is my last rabbit and fox book and it is a companion to Cleo Can Tie A Bow! Make sure to put it on your bookshelf so that you'll have it handy when you know someone who wants to learn to tie their shoelaces or any other kind of bow.
Journey To Osm - The Blue Unicorn's Tale is my first full-length novel. Please look for it on these Goodreads Listopia lists and give it a vote up on a few of them. https://www.goodreads.com/list/book/4...
Please look for "The Blue Unicorn's Journey To Osm Illustrated Book For Teens and Older Readers" on this Goodreads Listopia. https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/9... A vote from you would be fantastic.
I've also written a companion book for little children called "Unicorns From Unimaise - The Magical Metal-Horn Tribe."
I also believe if you teach a child with a story and pictures, they will remember it forever. With that in mind, I wrote the "Learn To Tie A Tie With The Rabbit and The Fox" series of instructional books for boys and girls.
You can also vote for it on the best book for children to learn how to tie, here:
I am also the publisher of the 4 volume set - Sybrina's Phrase Thesaurus. Check out all of these books and if you like them, please recommend them to other Good Reads members.
This book is so cool! I liked how each knight had a special power based on their element. It made learning about the periodic table feel like an adventure. The pictures are awesome too!
Thanks a bunch mbooktours for the opportunity. The book is great but in my opinion (pls don’t come at me because everyone has their own povs) this book is still super difficult for kids. I mean it’s good definitely but it’s still hard for kids to learn this much knowledge and points of so many elements. Yes, I love the concept but there’s still too much information for young minds to store. That’s only my pov, y’all can have your own opinions, id mind.
Thankyou mbooktours and Sybrina for the wonderful opportunity to participate in this book tour.
I absolutely love children’s books and this one was an educational read for young minds. Being a mom of 2 year old I’m always in search of educational books so that I can introduce these to my daughter early on.
This one was quite different from the normal educational books as it has this unique concept of magical wizards who have names based on periodic elements and they have all the properties of the specific elements.
All the uses, characteristics, facts and properties are enlisted in separate boxes for easy learning. I enjoyed this a lot and I’m going to recommend this to my mom friends as well.
Yes I enjoyed this but even for me (an adult: 25 years old) it was overwhelming and I still couldn’t process or remember anything. But I’m still going to rate this book 4/5 because I read this book only for reading purpose, but the kids who are going to read this book for learning purpose will surely invest time and will learn stuff about periodic elements effortlessly, so yeah it’s a great book.
This book is an engaging and imaginative exploration of the periodic table. I particularly enjoyed how each knight was uniquely associated with an elemental power, transforming scientific concepts into an exciting, story-driven adventure. The creative approach not only made learning about the elements enjoyable but also deeply memorable. The illustrations are vibrant and captivating, perfectly complementing the narrative and enhancing the overall reading experience.
This unique book captured my attention instantly and I will highly recommend it to parents struggling with their kids who aren’t so good at chemistry. You’ll find main characters as knights who are given names according to periodic elements. Their properties and uses are enlisted on the sides and they have special powers as well based on their elemental properties. This is a very interesting and important book. I hope to read more books by this author because she’s amazing at what she does. It’s a highly valuable and well researched book.
This one brought so many childhood memories back like when we used to memorise the periodic table by heart yet still failed terribly lol 😂 I remember once pleading my chemistry teacher to help me pass my exam with grace marks because it was the third time I failed in chemistry 😭😂
Sybrina has come up with a brilliant idea of introducing different cartoonish characters for the elements according to their uses and properties which will make it easier for kids to memorise at least the characteristics of each element.
Very nicely curated and illustrated. Well done Sybrina 👏🏻
The moment this book showed up, I knew I had to sign up because trust me it is one of the BEST children’s books I’ve read so far. I know this is a universal problem that kids even adults mostly hate chemistry but Sybrina knows how to solve that problem that’s why she came up with this excellent idea of transforming the boring periodic table elements into magical/fantasy knights. This is literally the best best best way to learn elements in the most fun way. Thank you Sybrina and mbooktours for this wonderful opportunity.
Absolutely amazing!!! I love this book as it delivers knowledge and it tells a story. This is literally the most fun way of learning periodic elements that 90% of the kids hate. I can’t express how good it was to read this book. Sybrina has made sure to mention all the necessary important things like uses, facts, additional information and atomic structure so it’s a complete bundle and you can blindly go for it. I definitely recommend it and it definitely deserves more recognition and promotion.
A nicely illustrated and put together literature/chemistry book that will attract young readers and help them learn periodic table in a fun way. The knights mentioned on every page are given names according to the periodic elements and similarly their powers are based on their elemental properties as well. The overall outlook, style and idea of the book is 10/10. It’s great to see authors coming up with unique and different ideas for their educational books rather than boring ways to inculcate knowledge in kids.
Book review of the actinide A book that helps you learn chemistry? Well it is actually a book that’ll help you learn periodic table and their uses in a very fun way. In starting this book has knights which represents an element like curran (the curium knight) and so many more each has it uses, facts, structure & powers which makes it more interesting. W If you’re new to chemistry this book is exactly what you’d need a perfect mixture of science and fantasy.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I even made a few notes about these elements and their characteristics. It’s a special kind of read that will hit you differently. It gives you that nostalgic feeling about childhood but with a twist. The outlook is amazing with awesome illustrations and vibrant colours. It will not only attract kids but also adults. Definitely worth your time.
Yup these are definitely magical elements with a knight having different powers and abilities. The cover attracted me first and I must say the illustrations are amazing and super vibrant. I loved the idea of turning periodic table into fun characters for easy learning and understanding. This is definitely one of my fav reads of 2025. Recommended.
Standing ovation for this book because it’s not any ordinary book, it’s full of elements combined with characters of knights and provides knowledge in a super fun way. I’m highly impressed by this book and I wish to read more from this series. It literally won my heart with the cute illustrations. You’ll find uses, properties, atomic numbers etc of the elements, so it’s easier to learn them.
If you’re looking for educational books combined with fantasy then this is the perfect book. The knights have special powers based on their elemental properties and that’s such an awesome thing. Sybrina has enlisted and columned every information to make it intelligible for young minds to read, understand and learn easily.
This was a fun and exciting read. I’m reading this genre and author for the first time but safe to say I loved them both. Easily a 5-star read. The elemental knights and their characteristics represent their powers, uses, facts and atomic structures. It’s an easier and fun way to learn and memorise the elements of the periodic table. Definitely worth your time and energy, surely recommended!
Thank you mbooktours and Sybrina for making me a part of this book tour..
I’m sorry but didn’t enjoy this book much as it was too difficult.. 3 stars for the overall outlook, the idea/concept and research, but I feel like it’s too difficult for kids even like this because it’s a lot of information + the additional knight names and powers..
Although I’d like to appreciate Sybrina Durant’s efforts and hardwork… Great job 👏🏻
It’s like fantasy meets chemistry. I loved the concept of using periodic elements’ names for knights and giving them a super power according to the uses and properties of the elements. It’s a quick read and it can definitely help kids learn chemistry faster and better. Overall a fun way to learn chemistry and enjoy it!!!
As a kid I always hated chemistry and my chemistry teacher lol
I enjoyed this much and wished we had such books back in our days. It’s a healthy and fun way to teach kids chemistry because in my pov it is the most boring subject ever to exist
This book is based on the topic of metals — a branch of chemistry within education. What makes it unique is how the writers have creatively portrayed the metals from the periodic table as magical creatures(knights). This imaginative AND CREATIVE TWIST turns what could have been a dry science topic into something fun and engaging.
The book is filled with colorful pictures and detailed illustrations, which make it very interesting to go through. Each metal is introduced as a unique character (knight), and the story format helps readers easily remember their characteristics, uses, and properties. It’s especially helpful for kids who are currently studying chemistry and find it hard to memorize metals and their features.
There’s also a periodic table included inside, along with a catchy metal song! The book provides a link to listen to the song, which makes learning even more interactive. AND I LOVE THAT
I think this book is an excellent choice for students who love chemistry, as well as for those who don’t enjoy it much but need to prepare for exams. even teachers can use this as a tool to teach the periodic table. The magical concept and creative storytelling make learning much easier and more enjoyable.
Overall, it’s a great read — fun, educational, and beautifully presented.
I’d rate it 4 out of 5 stars. (Originally I thought of 3.5 because I’m not much of a chemistry person, and it was a bit confusing at first, but overall it deserves a 4.)
‘No metal -No magic..and No Technology’ – Fun discoveries!
Author Sybrina Durant writes young adult novels, coloring books, technical books, and children’s books that both entertain and instruct. After her initial book for learning the elements with unicorns and dragons and alchemical wizards, she now presents a new and fresh book on learning the metals, illustrated with Actinide Knights beautifully created by Pranavva et al. The Periodic Table is presented with academic accuracy as well as entertaining interaction with fourteen actinide knights, each wielding a magical sword or lance with an element which gives them unique powers presenting Actinium, Americium, Berkelium, Californium, Curium, Einsteinium, etc with magical finesse. Each elemental character has magical powers ‘based on the properties of the elements that come from the land, air and water, introducing metals, metalloids, non-metals, halogens, noble gases and much more.’ This book provides not only information about each element in the Periodic Table but adds history, atomic structure, uses, fun ‘did you know’ facts, and very helpful and fun lessons in the form of printable downloads, trading cards, and other interactive forms of learning. This book is a valuable asset to teens in the middle school to high school range (and adults!) - a perfect gift to assist learning at home the enjoyable way! Highly recommended!
Magical Elements of the Periodic Table Presented by the Actinide Knights is the sixth book in Sybrina Durant’s series. This book is written for advanced middle school classes, but if you have a high school student who is struggling in Chemistry, this series will definitely help. The book is divided into several sections, enabling students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Periodic Table's importance while also explaining key terms, definitions, and properties. The Knights don’t go into battle, nor is there a dialogue among the characters, but the author features what their strengths would entail during a battle.
While reading Magical Elements of the Periodic Table Presented by the Actinide Knights, I couldn’t help wondering where this book/series was when I was teaching my own children chemistry! Sybrina Durant cleverly creates characters that make learning the Periodic Table fun, while Pranavva EtAl’s illustrations bring it to life. I loved all the fun facts about each element. This helps to see how these elements are being useful now and what our future will look like as we explore their uses. I highly recommend this to any chemistry student or teacher; it is definitely a fun read.
This book is a mashup of chemistry and fantasy storytelling, and I genuinely had fun exploring it. Imagine the periodic table reimagined as a kingdom of magical knights, each wielding elemental powers, it's like Harry Potter meets The Magic School Bus, with a dash of Dungeons & Dragons. The idea of turning actinide elements into magical knights with glowing swords and elemental powers is both clever and charming. Each character brings their element to life in a way that’s fun and surprisingly educational, making complex chemistry feel approachable, especially for younger readers or anyone new to the periodic table. I loved how the book blended real scientific facts with imaginative storytelling. The structure got a bit repetitive after a while but still, the creativity, heart, and educational value shine through. It’s a great read if you’re into science with a splash of fantasy flair.
🌟 Book Review: Actinide Knights ⚔️✨ Wow! what a fun and magical read! 💫 Actinide Knights takes science and turns it into an adventure filled with brave knights, enchanted weapons, and the wonders of the periodic table 🔬⚡ I absolutely loved how this book makes chemistry come alive! Each knight represents an element (like Acamus, the Knight of Actinium 🛡️), and through their stories, kids get to learn real scientific facts in the most creative way. It’s educational and exciting ,a perfect mix of fantasy and learning! The writing is super engaging, the concept is genius, and it’s perfect for curious young minds (or honestly, anyone who still loves a bit of magic and science). 🧪✨ If you’ve got a little scientist or a fantasy lover at home, Actinide Knights is a must-read! 💥
Magical Elements of the Periodic Table: The Actinide Knights is pure childhood alchemy, a brilliant mash-up of fantasy and science that turns the periodic table into a cast of heroic knights. Durant and the illustrator transform tricky, mysterious elements into bold characters and bite-sized facts that kids actually want to read. ‘No Metal, No Magic’ becomes a memorable lesson: this book doesn’t just teach, it sparks imagination, fuels curiosity, and makes STEM feel like an adventure. Perfect for bedtime, classrooms, or curious explorers, it’s a must-have for anyone who wants learning to feel legendary.
This book was such a creative and fun way to learn science! It mixes fantasy and education so well, with dragons, knights, and magic with the periodic table? That’s such a cool idea for kids! 😍 I really liked how each knight represented a different element and how their magical powers were explained through real science facts. It made learning about chemistry exciting and easy to understand. The illustrations were colorful and full of life, which makes it even more engaging for children. I think this book is perfect for kids who are curious about science or love magical stories. It’s fun, informative, and makes you see how amazing our world really is, full of both magic and science! 🧪
This book is pure genius! Magical Elements of the Periodic Table: The Actinide Knights turns chemistry into an epic fantasy adventure where science meets magic head-on. Every knight, every element bursts with life, color, and wonder. Kids (and adults!) will learn without even realizing it, that’s how fun it is.
Sybrina Durant has made the periodic table feel like a world you want to live in. Five stars, no question, educational, exciting, and absolutely enchanting!
I remember reading a similar kind of book by the same author some time back and I enjoyed that too. It was about unicorns I guess. This time it’s actinide knights that are heroes of the book.
Each hero has a name and some magical powers in accordance to their periodic element. This book is good in terms of learning as children try to memorise the periodic table but due to it being so dry it becomes so difficult. This book will help them learn about elements through different characters and it’s a much easier and fun way.
Thanks a lot sybrina & mbooktours for making me a part of this tour.
Sybrina Durant is famous for her amazing works for young minds. She has a full series of books for periodic elements and this is one of them.
The magical knights (I’m not supposed to give spoilers lol 😂 but I’ll just name my favs) Amerine, Curran (that silver hair though) and Elizama are my favs! I absolutely loved how their characters are illustrated. Love this book so much and I definitely highly recommend it.
This book is a fun mix of fantasy and science. The author explains the actinide elements through brave knights, each representing a different element with its own powers. It turns chemistry into a magical adventure that’s easy to follow and interesting.
The art is bright, the concept is clever, and it makes learning about elements actually fun. It’s perfect for kids, students, or anyone who enjoys fantasy with real facts. I’d rate it 4/5 stars creative, educational, and a joy to read. ✨
