It’s time for the revenge era.

One week.
One week to sit in the pain, to feel his loss, to sink into the abyss of my grief. Then I’ll begin. I’ll leave this room, this darkness and remind them all.
Because they seem to have forgotten who I am.
What I am.
They think love made me weak… that because I forgave him for trying to kill me, I’ll forgive him for this.
So now I’ll show him and them just how weak and forgiving I am.
Marcus took… They took from me for the last time.

Little Reaper is the final book in the Deadly Little Thing Trilogy. The events of Little Villain have left Ava broken, unbale to find her way out of her grief. Convinced, her path to revenge is one she must go on alone, not willing to cost anyone else their lives, Ava pushes everyone away, and starts down her path of revenge alone.

But… love is a powerful thing.

I was lucky enough to get the ARC for the 3rd and final book of the Deadly Little Thing Trilogy.

What a great way to end the series. This book is packed with love, loss, grief, revenge, sorrow, and healing.
I felt so much for these characters, I felt like I was right in there with them.
Ava is such a badass throughout the series. at times you think she may have lost it, but then she comes right back and reminds you who she is.
The amazing relationships she creates with all the characters that come into her life, it shows just how much of a special character she is.
and that epilog!!!
This last book to the series is such a great end that wrapped up everything for a great end.

I had the pleasure of ARC reading this book and I’m so grateful for it. This book took me through every emotion possible. I can count on one hand the amount of times a book has made me cry and this is now on that list. B. Mackenzie is able to pull you into the world and you will be feeling all the emotions that the characters are going through.

Ava is such a dynamic, strong, whirlwind of a woman in her revenge era who will have you mad at her while wanting to follow her into battle. This book had me falling in love with multiple side characters. I love the found family aspect that is throughout the whole trilogy but it really comes together in this final book.

Little Reaper is one of those books where it’s very clear I’m not the target demographic and yet, there I was, respectfully nodding along in acknowledgment that this journey was done well.

Wrapping up a trilogy is hard. Wrapping it up while hitting emotional beats, honouring character arcs, and maintaining a distinct voice is harder. B. Mackenzie absolutely sticks the landing on that front. The story is engaging, the pacing works, and the characters feel fully realized in a way that makes you care about how everything ends up, even if it’s not always the ending you personally ordered.

There were a few nostalgic throwbacks sprinkled in that I loved as a young adult, which gave the book an unexpectedly cozy familiarity. Ava continues to be a certified badass bitch with a very real heart of gold underneath the armor, and she remained the emotional anchor of the story for me.

Would I have personally chosen Declan over Liam? Yes. Loudly. No notes. But the heat between Ava and Liam, forged through grief, loss, and the painful process of rediscovering each other in a completely altered dynamic, was intense and well-earned. It hurt in the way it was clearly meant to.

I loved parts of the wrap-up, and other parts left my heart feeling a little unresolved, which honestly just makes me quietly hope for a spin-off to tie up a few loose ends that are still haunting me in the best and worst ways.

Overall, even if this series wasn’t written with me specifically in mind, I can absolutely appreciate the craft, the commitment, and the emotional payoff. A strong, confident finish to a trilogy with a clear voice and characters worth rooting for.

OMG!! All the feels and emotions!! This is the final book of Ava’s story and what a story it is!!I haven’t cried so much in my life!! I love how vengeful she gets and would do anything to make a person or Mafia family pay for what they did. I love how Liam and Ava grew more closer became what they always supposed to be Soulmates. I also love the team and how supportive and protective they are of each other. This story is really fast paced, action, revenge, forgiveness, and multiple twists that you get sucked in to this chaotic life. I love how heartbreaking it is and the compassion they have for each other really made me feel for them. Their story pulled my heartstrings and I’m so happy she found her HEA and got justice. I really enjoyed their story and can’t wait to read more.

I voluntarily leave an honest review of this gifted advance reader copy.

I've read all 3 books in this series, 2 I read as an ARC. I still absolutely love them all. I tell anyone who will listen about them. Little Reapers had me on the verge of tears, I don't cry because of books, and laughing so hard I cried. Seeing Ava progress over time and truly come into her own was amazing. She honestly kind of made me mad in Little Fury, but now.... I love her. She is so much more than I thought she would be by the end of this series. Reading about her love, heartbreak, and self-discovery gave me all the feels. She truly came into her own. The twists in Little Reaper were unexpected, and my jaw was on the floor a few times. I highly recommend not just Little Reaper but the entire trilogy. Fall in love with all of the characters. Watch Ava grow into a bad ass. Be prepared to cry, whether from heartbreak or laughter is up to you.

B, I do have one question even though I know it was answered.... "Who's Larry?"

ARC READ: to say I’m relieved that she didn’t off everyone except for Matt is an understatement. I was seriously nervous she was going to rip out my heart and stomp on it. I’ve loved this story since the very beginning and clear to the end. My heart broke a few more times but man was it good. An emotional roller coaster this trilogy has been.
In this you really feel and understand Ava’s grief and her conflicting emotions of what she feels and how she thinks she needs to feel when it comes to Marcus. And I seriously hated Marcus after what happened in the second book but in this one, I was just more sad for him than anything because he was so broken and just wanted someone to choose him first for once in his life.
I love how Liam is in this even more. You can’t help but to love his dominance and protectiveness (but not overly protective so Ava can still be Fierce Ava). My heart hurt for Harry at the end because I wasn’t expecting his ending to be like that, but then again there were a lot of things that surprised me. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to give anything away. But I’m going to be feeling this book for a while because man there was still a lot of sadness because you really do fall in love with a lot of side characters.

Oh my god, it’s finally here, the last installment to this trilogy!!! And let me tell you, holy sh*t it was everything and more. So many tears but also so much laughter. Because of the loss from book 2 this book was also so very sad but continuing Ava’s journey post Declan, her trying to navigate her life with yet again another piece missing. There were so many scenes that made me laugh, cry, got me a little hot & bothered, and surprised me. Gave me all the feels just like the previous 2 books. Then how all the side characters came to aid Ava on her mission was just so touching to see how many cared for her. God, everything was just so spectacular about this.

This is the final book from The Deadly Little Thing Trilogy series.

I just loved this book the way it did first two of them from this series. While reading this book you’ll get to feel so many emotions that’ll break you. I was crying at a pint that why it have to be like this. The perfect way to wrap up this book

This book was the perfect finale to the series, delivering that unpredictable “what’s going to happen next” vibe while tying up all loose ends. The humor and sarcasm between characters were spot-on, constantly making me crack up. It also hit me emotionally, bringing tears and raging at other parts . This book took me on a rollercoaster and left me satisfied, though I might be in a mafia book slump after this!

Asked for an ARC on a whim, and the book gods provided. Full disclosure this was the first Mafia series I ever picked up, so maybe I don’t know much about what a Mafia romance should be, but I LOVE IT. The beginning of this book had me breaking with Ava. And while the first 50% of this book is about relationships, it really doesn’t disappoint. I will say two things in the story really upset me, but they made sense. It is a super quick read, 90% of the plot lines get tied up nicely, if you’ve invested yourself in some of these characters, your heart will be broken. Still worth the read, and my tears.

Love, love, loved this book! B. Mackenzie really knows how to tear your heart out. I was invested in the first two books, and this one was no different. It drew me in from the first line. The characters were vivid, the setting was immersive, and the storyline was both emotional and authentic. So hard to put down. And it leaves a lasting impression! The kind of book that will stay with you for a long time.

10/10 would recommend!

We open on Ava Landry, our emotionally eviscerated anti-fmc, post-Marcus betrayal, post-Little Villain devastation, and deep in her “don’t talk to me unless you want to die” era. She’s not just grieving, she’s weaponizing it. Her pain is a scalpel, her silence a scream, and her love? Oh honey, it’s a loaded gun with a lipstick kiss on the barrel.

This isn’t your average “girl gets revenge” arc. This is “girl becomes myth.” Ava doesn’t just want payback, she wants redefinition. She’s done being the pawn, the prodigy, the pretty little killer with a soft spot. She’s here to remind everyone that softness is not weakness, it’s the velvet lining of a coffin.

Let’s talk about The Ranch. The place where Ava was trained, raised, and emotionally dismantled alongside Marcus, her once ride or die now just die partner. Their bond? Think Romeo and Juliet if Juliet had a sniper rifle and Romeo was emotionally constipated with a God complex.

Marcus’s betrayal in book two was a gut punch, but in “Little Reaper,” it’s the echo that haunts every page. Ava’s memories of him are laced with venom and longing, like sipping poison from a wine glass etched with love notes. She doesn’t just mourn him, she mourns the version of herself that believed in him.

Ava’s revenge is choreographed. Every move is calculated, every kill poetic. She’s not just hunting her enemies, she’s performing for them. Her vengeance is theatrical, operatic, and disturbingly intimate. She doesn’t just want them dead. She wants them aware.

This book doesn’t flinch. People die. Trust is shattered. Ava bleeds, physically, emotionally, metaphorically. But she never breaks. She bends, she burns, she bruises, but she builds. Her grief becomes armor. Her rage becomes gospel. And her love? It’s the ghost that dances beside her, whispering “remember who you are.”

ARC Reader Confessional – Little Reaper by B. Mackenzie 💀🔥

Where do I even begin with this book!! OMG. Little Reaper is dark, intense, and absolutely devastating in all the best ways. Ava’s journey in this finale had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Broken, furious, and determined, she’s walking a path of revenge alone—and I was with her every step, heart in my throat, cheering, gasping, and low-key panicking all at once. 😈💀

Ava is fierce, unrelenting, and unapologetically herself. The pain she carries is palpable, the grief sharp enough to cut through the page, and her fire—oh, her fire—is intoxicating. Marcus and everyone else think they know her… but Ava is about to prove just how deadly and unstoppable she really is.

The tension? Unbearable. The stakes? Sky-high. And the love story that lingers in the shadows? 🔥 So perfectly layered, heartbreaking, and swoon-worthy that I was weak in the knees while simultaneously terrified for her. Every scene crackled with intensity, every interaction hummed with chemistry and danger.

B. Mackenzie has delivered a finale that’s messy, chaotic, and completely addictive. It’s revenge, heartbreak, and passion all rolled into one beautifully twisted package. By the end, I was emotionally wrecked, exhilarated, and already mourning that it’s over.

Little Reaper is dark romance and revenge done so right. Ava’s journey is unforgettable, and this story will linger long after the last page.

hooked

So I read the trilogy and waited to give my true final thoughts.

I loved everything about this. Even though I wish something’s didn’t happen or could have occurred differently. More so because it seems there wasn’t a happily ever after for everyone all around.

I did fall in love with the characters & felt some things were missed. Either way I truly recommend this series to anyone. I loved Ava and her way of being. Her character makes you stay attached plus we all love a strong female bad a$$ character. & all the alpha men we encounter. Well yes please. They all love her and she brings them all in. But of course there is only one winner in the end. Even though they all respect and care for. She earned their loyalty & in return theirs.

Deadly little thing trilogy keeps you on your toes & makes you go through all the feels. Wanting to feel more for those characters you oh so fall in love with.

OMG What a way to END THIS SERIES! To say this was my most anticipated ARC of the year would be an understatement. I had a super vibes review the day after I finished - but somhow me and technology didn't get along and it got deleted - so now I'm just gonna say - get this series on your TBR! I love Liam and Eva and all the supporting cast. I was worried B was gonna have Eva burn it all down - leaving NO ONE STANDING - and the way Eva and Liam and everyone else pulled it off was spectacular. (And left most people still standing! Trying not to spoil it!). B wrapped up loose ends - managed to introduce us to some new characters, but never strayed away from the heart of the story. So glad to have been on this ARC team and while I'm relieved we finally got the HEA - I'm sad to see these characters go!

Okay, first off what an ending. Seriously. It’s one of those finales that hits you right in the chest and makes you just sit there for a bit after finishing. The whole thing feels like watching someone rise from the ashes messy, painful, but kind of beautiful too.

Ava… wow. She’s raw in this one. You can feel every ounce of her anger and grief, but also her strength, her heart, and that fire that refuses to die out no matter what’s thrown her way. It’s dark, emotional, and full of that kind of redemption that doesn’t come easy.

The pacing was tight, the emotions were real, and the ending, that ending felt like exactly what the story deserved. It gave closure but still left my heart a little wrecked in the best possible way.

Okaaayyy Miss Ma'am!!!

So let me get this straight. I could attain Ava's level of growth and potentially be happy with lots of mind blowing orgasms if I stop tripping myself over my own 2 feet or at least learn to place blame on someone else? 🤔 Shocking.

The epilogue was beautiful. It reminds me of the BBQ scene at the end of Fast & Furious 6 where the word "Family" gets thrown around like glitter at a craft market during pride 😏.

Harry's ending gutted me but it was needed to balance the HEA (doesn't mean I like it). That being said I would love to see a next generation story with Tru and whoever Ava adopts. New characters with new traumas? new guns and HIIYYAAA's? Yes please!

I think the main take away is that my life would be so much better if I had a Liam and lots of glitter.

Legit was so excited to finish this trilogy to see how Ava’s story ended. & let me tell u the end wasn’t at all what i thought it was gonna inevitably be. But in the same breath im so happy it turned out differently. Loved this entire series and the ride of emotions it took me on. Butttt im not gonna lie i skip a good portion of some chapters cuz the x rated scenes were just so like “oh i know exactly how this is going”. Honestly don’t think i needed to read 30 times about their sex life. A couple times cool but not as many as it had. Other than that this was a beyond amazing series.

I don’t think words will do justice for this book. There are so many emotional moments but none as heart wrenching as Ava and Marcus. My two babies, this last book broke me in so many ways but it also mended that same broken heart that I felt.

Ava is one of those characters that leaves a lasting imprint into your soul and is one of those characters that I will take with me in every journey I take forward. She’s definitely up top with my other favorite female characters.

Give this trilogy a shot I promise you will not be disappointed.

Honestly, just the perfect way to wrap up a high stakes dark romance! I know no happy endings were promised but after everything Ava has been through, I feel like she (and us readers) needed this!!
It’s bitter-sweet to see it end but also very much needed! If you know any piece of Ava’s story, then you know there was no other way it could end! Even though I beta read this, before publication, but still cried at all the heartbreaking parts.
If you like carnage with your romance and a serious emotional roller coaster… get into this series!!

B. IS AN EMOTIONAL SADIST!

But in the most beautiful way. The way I have been invested in all the characters she's introduced in these books is amazing.

I was so happy I got the honour of receiving the arc for the third and final book in this trilogy.

The spice was amazing but I also found myself so invested in the story. It was a great way to end it even if my poor little black heart continued to break throughout the whole series.

Kudos B you did an amazing job.

Given the content of the other books in the series leading up to this one, and even how this one starts, I felt like it would be closer to a scorched Earth sort of ending. It was not that and I was feeling a bit robbed. Loved the Characters, loved the mob boss/ assassin and enemy to lovers troupes and I must read more.

Trilogy with a lot going on

Four stars because the lack of decent grammatical editing truly interrupted the flow of the good plot on way too any occasions.

I'm not sure I like the FMC in the first two books, but I like who she becomes. So many deaths here...be forewarned! This is part action flick and part romance

A fitting and satisfying finale, one that ties the series together with clear stakes, clean resolutions, and no loose threads. The plot escalates decisively, the action lands with weight, and the emotional beats feel earned rather than rushed. There are many deaths, but my favorite characters survive, and their outcomes make sense within the world and the choices they have made.

Character work stands out. The FMC’s arc comes full circle, her decisions drive the endgame, and supporting players get conclusions that feel purposeful, not perfunctory. The pacing is steadier than in earlier installments, slower in the right places for tension and faster when momentum matters, which keeps the finale engaging from set-up to payoff.

Worldbuilding and lore are clarified just enough to close the door on lingering questions, while leaving a sliver of possibility for future side stories if the author ever chooses. Overall, a strong, emotionally coherent conclusion that respects the journey, delivers consequences, and leaves me satisfied.

The first 25% of this book is just depressing AF, you will be crying (and not from the massive lack of editing which is honestly ridiculous in all three books) and you will feel every drop of Ava’s grief.

The plot in this was great, the pacing was pretty good and overall this was super. However, I knew when I was at the 88% mark and the end was nowhere close to being done that it was likely going to be a little rushed. I was kind of right. The final battle wasn’t rushed in itself but the amount of character deaths that occur in rapid succession that are just kind of dropped as a « by the way » kind of level was honestly wild?

I absolutely love Matt, Ben and Jonah but especially Matt. The friendship between Ava and Matt is top tier. The way they show up for each other, support each other, and know each other intrinsically is 10/10.

I have always been a Liam STAN but holy hell, the way that he loves Ava is stunning. Once you get through the first quarter he absolutely shines. He is sweet, charming, a little grumpy/broody, dominant but he appreciates every part of Ava and never lets her doubt that he loves each part.

Some parts of the ending actually were so disappointing and annoying. Marcus and Harry in particular, but especially Harry… what the actual F was that? The Marcus part was also exasperating but really nothing holds a candle to how everything ended with Harry.

I wish we had more of an epilogue but it was overall still pretty solid. The authors writing itself is good, but OMG the amount of editing issues in here is on par with the first book, maybe even worse? With a better editor these would have been phenomenal. Unfortunately though it does take away from the reading experience with the sheer volume of issues.

If she wrote another series would I be inhaling it like these three books? Without. A. Doubt.

An absolutely PERFECT ending to a SPECTACULAR trilogy!! I loved everything about this book: The emotional turmoil, the found family, the action, the love, the hate, the spice (Oh the spice 🤤), and the payback! All of it came together FANTASTICALLY to create the perfect final book!
