September 16, 2025Tried to enjoy this one cus it has some tropes I enjoy but as someone who is into astrology this gave very baseline and boring. Everytime the FMC gets emotional “It’s the cancer in me” being dumb about her smoked out brother “It’s the cancer in me that wants to see the good” like enough lmaoo we don’t need to keep hearing about her sun sign to know that she’s a cancer. I just feel like more could be shown to embody that and the MMC being Virgo just don’t hit on the compatibility note lmao. Oh and the raps was TERRIBLE sorry to that man

OMG
This was sooo good! Nuri was such a sweetheart! Her gentle and compassionate nature did it for me. She gave me all the feels. I wanted to read this one first after reading the synopsis. However, my need to read the series in order wouldn’t allow me to. LOL I knew it was going to be good, though. And I was right. I loved everything about it. From the way Kai immediately went into protective mode with Nuri to the relationship he had with his family. Although Kai didn’t talk much, his actions were enough. From the way he protected Nuri, made her feel seen, carried her through her grief, how he handled their enemies to how he provided shelter for his family. The love they had for him was beautiful. They allowed him to be who he is and loved him enough to communicate with him in the way he felt most comfortable. While Kai and Nuri’s start was unconventional, their love for one another wasn’t. This is definitely one of my favorites from the series. Excellent job, Faith J!

I loved this book so much! There was a sweet romance & plenty of street shenanigans! What more can you ask for? Nuri was such a kind hearted FMC who truly didn’t deserve any of the bad things that happened to her. And Kai was a solid MMC who minded his business until people brought foolishness to his door. He was the quiet, brooding type that DID NOT play when it came to those he loved. They had a magnetic pull from their first encounter & in each other Nuri found family & Kai found acceptance. My favorite part of a marriage of convenience story is seeing how the author takes us from fake to real. And in this story the little bricks that were building their love story were evident. So that when things shifted, you weren’t left thinking “how did we get here?” The story had good pacing & great side characters (like I need a Walker sibling series now. Because I know Jah would up in his own book).

Man, this book was so good. I relate to. Kai in terms of speaking and being overwhelmed causes the stuttering. Because that happens to me too, I loved how he immediately became the protector of Nuri. He instantly didn’t play about her. It sadden me that her childhood friend snaked her like that, I was glad that b*tch got what she deserved. That brother of hers, smh that 🥷🏾 was a piece of 💩 and deserved all that was handed to him. Nuri wanted a family and she got one with Walkers. Once they accepted her, she was protected by them. Everyone knew what time it was. What shocked me but also made sense was Zero ( Zyro) being Kai’s biological father. I am glad Kai handled him too. The one thing about a Virgo , once you unleash that dark side of us. There is nothing you do to prepare for what is going to happen. This my first time reading something from this author and it won’t be that last. If I had only suggestion, can we not refer to a black woman’s hair as nappy?

I absolutely love when these series of authors are pulled together because it brings me to new amazing authors! This is my first book by Faith and it won’t be the last ! I thoroughly enjoyed Kai & Nuri! This book was a really good read and I fell in love with how he loved his people and how he immediately wanted to protect Nuri. I’m weak in the knees for a HEA even if it’s the hood classic version ! Those are the best ones ! Nuri finally got the love she deserved after losing so much I just wish her old complete life didn’t have to be shed for it to happen.. she lost Samara that night as well pretty much in a sense but she gained so much more so I guess in the end so it was still all worth it because she has her life and a family of her own.. I’m a Capricorn so a cancer is my sister sign and I felt all those emotions reading them for my good sis Nuri! 10/10 highly recommend. Followed the author and can’t wait to find a new one by her

When the Authors of BLP get together and write a series, they are definitely must read and their Signs of Love series is definitely that!!
Faith J did an amazing job bringing Cancer’s to life in The Cancer I Chose!!
Nuri and Kai met at he lowest point, when her friends and brother betrayed her for money. And Kai knew at that moment he had to protect her, so offered her a marriage of convenience to do just that.
But he knew when he first saw her he was drawn to her and as they got to know each other better their marriage of convenience turned to so much more. The way they protected and took care of each other was simply beautiful! And the way his family loved her made my heart swell!!
If this series is not on your TBR, you definitely need to add it because every single book is a must read!!!

This series is giving all the feels, and I am here for it.
Kai is the sweetest tortured soul ever. I love the way he loves his family and Nuri. Kai was a menace but only when pushed. Most thought he was quiet because something was with him, but no not at all. He was a gentle soul who had been through a lot in life. He came up through the trenches and survived as well as thrived.
He gave Nuri the love and family she needed and was missing. Good riddance to Ry, Zero, and her homegirl. All of them got exactly what they deserved.
This story was beautiful and heartfelt. You ladies are killing this series. Thank you Faith J and BLP because I'm a fan for life.

A Little of Everything
This book wad a first from the author for me. I liked the storyline and the character's but some of the writing felt off and many of her adjectives and descriptions gave me the ICK. Respectfully, no matter how body positive you are, no one wants to constantly read about someone's fat rolls. Also, a lot of this book felt a little long winded, like several situations could have been wrapped up a lot faster. In the end though, I liked that Nuri gave Kai a new purpose for his voice and Kai gave Nuri a new family. From steamy scenes, too unalivings and some sweet moments in between, the book had a little of everything I just wish that the plot would have come across in a more concise way and the multiple references to fat rolls was omitted.

Let me say they gave what they had to give!
Granted, the beginning was full of unnecessary fluff but once this story got going ... you will find yourself spellbound in this world.

Honestly, I expected a novella not a TP sponsored novel. This read was T.D.L🙄 🤦🏾♀️‼️“The Cancer I Chose (BLP Signs of Love - Book 4)” had the potential to be a better read with some editing, character & plot management. Nevertheless, as a fellow crustacean I generously uprated “The Cancer I Chose” (which should have been 3⭐️’s) but I recorded 4⭐️’s. However, around page one hundred fifty my mood shifted. Thereafter I was disinterested in the urban adventures & melodramas of Nuri & Sekai and “dutch” crew 🤷🏾♀️‼️

Silent but lethal
Nuri was one smart cookie. I couldn't believe she was surrounded by a snake bother and childhood friend. If it wasn't for Sekai, our girl would have been down bad. He helped without hesitation and stood on ALL the business. Couldn't anyone tell me that her brother was not on drugs. That was just sad.
I am happy everyone got what was coming to them in the end. Only people spared were the kids.

I love d this book from m start to finish! Nuri &Kai were made for each other! Sign language is a beautiful language , though silent! Family was just blood, because Kai received unconditional love from the water family, no question, where as Nuri had only her brother and you will have to read the book to see how that turned out! The epilogue was just as good! I would love to read more about Kai & Nuri,even eggs through a book with Jah.

Kai and Nuri gave absolute life to the genre…The storyline flowed made sense and allowed you to commit…Leaving out the unnecessary drama made this not only an enjoyable read but a true page turner…Constant clash and discord between the main characters has become monotonous…Thank you for missing us on taking that route….Only one problem…We needed that Epilogue!!!! Nuri and Kai need a novella…and Jah needs to find his person…

Loved everything about this book. Sekai didn't play about his Legacy. He stood on business that had me rubbing my feet together while reading. So I enjoyed the storyline as the characters and I understand this is a zodiac sign series but the amount of time I had to read “Because I’m a cancer” or “ Because I’m a Virgo” got a lil annoying. I was like damn I get it. The fmc need to pack tissues everywhere she go. That girl will cry at the drop of a dime lol. She was sweet tho. Mmc is a quiet savage which we love. Overall I enjoyed it.

Kai and Nori Forever
This was such a great book!!! I absolutely loved their love story and how they were there for each other.
Kai was definitely that dude and didn’t play about those he loved. From the very beginning he was intentional about being there for Nori and never wavered. I’m definitely Team Kai🥰

Loved everything about this book. Loved how Kai protected Guru from day 1. They both needed each other, her brother wasn't shit. I'm glad he got what he deserved as well as Zero. This book proves you don't have to be blood to be family.

Choosing a Cancer
Nuri's brother and her friend was crazy. I didn't understand why her friend would turn on her knowing what her brother try to do to her. I was so happy when Kai to her in and made sure she was safe.

I enjoyed reading about how someone who was different than what people called normal was able to still be successful in the music industry and in his personal life. Trauma can sometimes have you thinking you can't move past it. But this book shows you can.

Faith J wrote the mess out of this story. Kai and Nuri had the best type of going on there was to have. What started off as a way to protect and get back at both their enemies turned into pure love. Kai did what needed to be done for his Legacy.

Best definition of I will burn the world down for you. I mean damn Sekai said not with my woman. I loved this book, and I can't wait for more. Nuri bro was on some other bull shit, I mean trying to sell your sis to clear your death is diabolical and he def got what he deserved. The lil plot reveal with Kai, I def did not see coming, idk how I missed it but I was like whoa, didn't see that, but def made a lot of sense!! I loved how their story unfolded and i like that Kai fam was so welcoming to Nuri and would go to bat for her no questions asked.
