Frosted: Colorado Skyhawks Hockey Romance
He’s the captain of the ice.
She’s the sister of the man who hates him.
Falling for her could cost him everything.Finn “Frostbite” McAdams is used to leading—his NHL team, the locker room, the scoreboard. As captain, he thrives under pressure. But nothing prepares him for the fight off the a custody battle for his late brother’s daughter that could shatter the fragile family he’s trying to rebuild.
The last thing he needs is another headline.
Then Lauren Erickson walks into his life.
Sharp-witted food writer. Cupcake perfectionist. And sister to the teammate whose broken engagement still stains Finn’s reputation.
Lauren knows she should despise him. She’s tried. But the cocky, laser-focused captain she meets behind closed doors isn’t the scandal the tabloids painted. He’s steady. Protective. Devoted to the little girl who already calls him hers.
And when he looks at Lauren like she’s the only thing in the room, it’s impossible not to melt.
Stolen dinners turn into heated nights. Playoff adrenaline bleeds into breathless kisses. And the chemistry between them? Definitely not safe for public consumption.
But with the media watching, old rumors circling, and a custody hearing looming, one wrong move could cost Finn his daughter—and prove everyone right about the kind of man they think he is.
Lauren has spent her life protecting her family.
Finn is fighting to build his own.
When loyalty collides with desire, will they choose safety… or risk their hearts for a love that refuses to stay frozen?

This hockey romance has it all — banter, sizzling chemistry, family dynamics, and, most importantly, love. I enjoyed every minute in their story.
Lauren is trying to move on from her ex, Geoffrey, when she meets Finn in a hotel bar after dropping off her brother’s lucky bandanas. Both of her brothers play in the NHL, as does Finn — though she doesn’t realize who he is when they first meet. She steals his drink, they share a night together, and she slips out the next morning after discovering he’s the player who once slept with her brother’s fiancée.
Despite that rocky start, Lauren and Finn keep crossing paths and decide on a no-strings-attached relationship. But their undeniable connection and chemistry soon have them both wanting more.
Ella Apple delivers a layered, emotionally charged romance. Finn’s custody battle with Nicki over his niece, Sierra, adds depth and tension. Lauren is torn between her loyalty to her brothers — who still resent Finn — and her growing feelings for him. As the truth about the past comes to light, and with Nicki stirring trouble to gain custody, emotions run high.
Amidst the family drama, jealousy, and miscommunication, Finn’s growth from bad boy player shines through as he works to become a better man for Lauren. He proves just how much he’s changed when he pulls out all the stops to win her back.
Frosted is a story full of heat — and plenty of heart — blending emotional depth, character growth, family ties, and the perfect dose of humor and banter. This one is a winner.

Frosted by Ella Apple is a deliciously fun enemies-to-lovers hockey romance that had me laughing, swooning, and rooting for Finn and Lauren from the beginning. I am such a fan of rival’s sister and the whole having to sneak around and keep the relationship secret. It’s all so delicious.
Finn McAdams, aka “Frostbite Finn,” is all ice on the outside and a total softie on the inside, and Lauren’s sharp wit and big heart make her impossible not to love.
The banter between them is chef’s kiss — sarcastic, flirty, and full of sparks. Add in a little sports drama, some definite family tension, and a side of sexy ice-rink romance, and you’ve got a book that just draws you right in and keeps you going until the end.
But what I loved most was Finn & Sierra’s relationship. The way he always puts her first, shows up for her in every way he can, and fights for her is so heartwarming. Every decision he makes has to consider how it affects Sierra, and seeing him embrace that responsibility adds so much depth to his character. It makes him not just swoony, but genuinely admirable and left a definite soft spot on my heart.
If you love smart, flirty romance with heart, humor, and just the right amount of steam, Frosted is a total win.

This is such a great read! The story of Finn and Lauren is one of enemies to lovers/redemption/found family. It all starts as Lauren, a food critic, meets Finn in a bar and then shares an unforgettable night with him. She discovers who he is the next morning - her brother's ex slept with him- and decides to not pursue the feelings. But they keep running into each other, and their chemistry increases with each encounter. But there are factors that will work on keeping them apart, his niece's custody battle, drama, jealousy and lots of family dynamics.
Be prepared for the banter, the comedy laced in this book, as well as the open door steam. THe characters are complex and well executed, you will feel like you know them and feel their feels. A great read!.

This was a cute hockey romance. It was a quick read with an engaging story. I particularly liked the side characters. They were very much a part of the story and I enjoyed reading their scenes. I appreciated that they were distinct characters and interacted with the main characters in different ways. It was a great depiction of found family.
