Over the centuries, Mason has perfected his anonymous teenage playboy persona. He teeters on the edge between manic joyriding and self-destruction, chasing the highs of rollercoasters, half pipes, and anonymous sex to stave off his guilt, and keep him neutral.
He's jarred out of his ecstasy-filled neutrality when Rosaline, his beautifully evil sire, drops in, promising a new savage playground. She’s good at digging her hooks into him, dragging him back into her thrall, and pulling the monster back out of him. He’s terrified that if he falls to her prowess this time, he won't crawl back out, yet he’s never seen the point of hiding from her.
But then he meets Jaimie, whose resilience and determination to protect her gifted younger brother stirs Mason’s damaged heartstrings and calms him in ways he hasn't known since he was mortal. He's hooked.
Thinking it's the last place Rosaline would look for him, and that it's a chance to feel like a kid for the first time, he infiltrates Jaimie's high school. Within its halls, he finds acceptance among his human peers, and he revels in tormenting Jaimie's bullies. In Jaimie he finds friendship, family, and a path to redemption he's never hoped for before.
Can this girl and her kid brother heal over a century’s worth of grief, and redeem him? Can he keep them all safe from Rosaline's destruction? Or will he fail, like he fails at everything?
Amelia Rose has a BA in English and Classical Humanities, but barely remembers any Latin. She lives in Ohio with her husband, and fills every moment of her free time with writing, drawing, making beaded jewelry, or constructing cardboard sculptures. She loves dancing shamelessly to all kinds of music, obsessing over musicals, devouring horror movies-the gorier the better--and going to concerts. She never passes up the chance to ride a rollercoaster or get kisses from a dog.
Fallen Idols is Amelia's debut novel, and the first in an ever expanding series called The Fallen Favorites.
Words cannot express how excited I was to finally meet Mason!!!! Easily one of my top 3 favorites in this series (I can’t believe there’s only one more left 😭)
AND A VISIT FROM COLT AND LIBBY! AND A HOT FELLYN MENTION!
Omg masons trauma is my trauma at this point, I can’t even imagine what this poor baby has gone through (and thankfully Amelia delivers on making sure you super duper can imagine 😅)
I loved his and Jaimie’s friends to lovers(ish) to friends rollercoaster (pun intended) of a relationship 😭 and i love that Amelia includes children in her world because children are often left out of existing at the same time as these types of creatures when it comes to paranormal stories even when children exist and the creatures couldn’t exist without being children prior, but I digress.
Mikey was a wonderful inclusion in this and truly let Masons softer side out. It was great to see that he could HAVE those softer moments after all he’s been through <3
Another beautiful installment for sure, cannot wait to read about RILEY!!!! AHHHHH 😍
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Book 4 in the Fallen Favourites series picks up with Mason who is fated to live out eternity with the face of a young man, underestimated by everyone around him. He has seen and experienced horrors you would wish on your mortal enemy and yet, in the darkness, he finds a shining light, Jaimie.
I'd love the friendship between the two characters and the addition of Mikey-man was so lovely. Their own little found family. The way they bond and support each other through their trauma is beautiful.
No spoilers but man was I glad to see the back of a certain someone 😈 The return of Riley was a real treat and I can not wait to get his story in book 5 🥰
I literally couldn't stop reading this. I smashed it in a day and half (maybe less). I love everything Amelia Rose writes, she is my favorite author. Her world she has created is amazing, the characters are amazing, her lore is amazing. I can't say a bad thing about her books. Go Read them. I never give spoilers youre just gonna have to trust me. oh....but there is one scene that will make you fist pump the air and go "yes!" 🫶Amelia thank you again.
I couldn’t put this book down! I loved Mason so much! The strength and connection that he found with Jaimie and her brother had my heart. The author wrote a really great story of finding meaning and purpose in life again when you’ve lost your light. And one of my favorite characters making an appearance was an incredible bonus!! I’m so excited for the next book and their story!!!
Damned to live forever with a pretty face Mason, travels the world alone after getting away from his maker. I loved Mason, he was a very giving person to those he needed to see for sustenance. I loved his connection with Jamie. After spending so much time alone he found his person. I loved the reprisal of previous characters from the other books and the honorable mentions. Also, can you imagine going back to high school with the knowledge you've learned since the last time you were in school?
