What if you found out your entire family history was based on lies—lies that could get you and everyone you love killed?
Henry believes he is a normal teenager with an uneventful life. He gets up, goes to school, hangs out with his friends, goes to bed. Rinse. Repeat.
Until the day his father falls into a coma.
One night, as he keeps vigil at the hospital, he swears he hears his dad wake up, just for a moment, to utter a warning urging Henry to check a locked safe at home. Curious, Henry opens the safe. The only things inside are a bunch of papers written in a language he doesn’t recognize… and a medallion. When Henry touches it, a well of magic opens within him, and dormant powers he never realized he had start to emerge.
Joined by his friends, Henry learns that there is much he didn’t know about his family. Like the fact that his dad is a refugee from a world of magic, long ruled over by a dark god and his followers. And that many in this dark realm are deeply fearful of Henry and his family. Especially now that he has found magic. Henry will have to find out the truth about himself, fast, to prevent everyone he loves from falling victim to the same forces that came for his father. But doing so will mean tapping into the dangerous power he possesses—and embracing that power might either save both worlds, or destroy them.
