Orphan Ivy Foster works in a nightclub in the heart of Manhattan while attending NYU. While waiting to graduate, the nightclub owner sells the club, and she finds herself drawn to the new owner.
Her relationship with the new owner intensifies and at the same time, she finds her trips to the casino have been more appealing than they used to be. She finds herself in a compromising position as the owner of the nightclub and the owner of the casino both fight for her love.
The problem is they both have a deadly secret, and Ivy finds herself lost as she tries to untangle the web they have both created for her in their lives.
This is a very good book. I'm excited to see who is the vampire, I have a guess Jason, and who the Alpha is, maybe Caleb or that casino guy Jose. Plus I so want to see where the relationship goes, Does she freak out at supernaturals or is she cool. Is this your norm vampire book or is it different and exciting. I'm looking for book 2, cause I need to find out what happens!!
Ok story but did not make a lot of sense. There was also no warning that it was continued. I don't mind buying a second book when I like the book but would not spend the money for this.
A quick read. I hovered between a 2 & 3 stars and decided to settle on a 2.5 stars. The story wasn't bad - lots that wasn't explained though so I had a hard time wondering if I had missed something. I found the characters shallow and as such I couldn't completely connect with them or the story.
Orphaned ivy works at a bar. She meets the owners brother and falls for him. Everyone tells her he must be a vampire cause he only comes out at night. She laughs saying that's a bars staff life. Great story. Cannot wait to read the entire series.
A hot story that reads fast and just getting good!
This is a hot story! I don't normally read vampire fiction, Twilight killed that for me, but this story premise was interesting, and I have read liked some of this authors other works. Although there is a lot of girl talk and exposition in the beginning, the story builds and gets more involved. I didn't get the whole gambling thing yet, or that the people in the casino seemed to know Ivy. What did she do with her tongue? Her relationship with Jason was different, but it didn't lack heat. I'm dying to know what is going to happen with Caleb so I will definitely be continuing with this story line. I was absolutely stuck by the last development, which is making me wish that payday was today so I could read right through. It is definitely worth the time to read it!
First, I did not finish this book. I did not like the main character ... there's nothing really to like about her. The best friend is more or less a cipher. There are also a few glaring editorial glitches, too. This book isn't horrible, it's just not good.
Wow is all I want to say but there is so much more. I felt it started slow and it jumped around a bit, but once things got started, wow just wow. Intriguing, intense, compelling read.
Way to short, cliff hanger. Good story, like the characters. Need the second book out because your missing way to much. Too many questions that need to be answered.
Very short read. At times I was confused because it felt like things were skipped or switched around. I am not impressed but I am going to read Part Two, I have to know what is going on.
