Megan and Giovanni
This started out so well. Megan is vacationing in CA with her best friend and young sister when Giovanni kisses her in a movie studio. The kiss is on video and goes viral. Megan is actually hiding from someone dangerous and violent so she freaks out that the video will be seen. But instead of hiding out more or disappearing, she and her sister travel to NYC with Giovanni where he wines and dines her and shows her all the touristy sites. In other words, she’s walking around the city. So of course, this violent and dangerous man that Megan is hiding from easily finds her and starts stalking her.
From here on out, Megan makes one bad decision after another. She’s impulsive and immature. She doesn’t seem to have any sense of self preservation. And she puts the safety of her sister at risk. She’s also really stubborn and always wants her way even tho she has no idea what she’s doing most of the time. By the end, I absolutely hate Megan.
Giovanni’s not much better. For a Mafia Don, he has very little control of his own siblings. I also didn’t feel the attraction between the two main characters.
The plot is confusing and loose. So much happens and it’s a roller coaster mystery thriller more than a romance. Ends in a cliffhanger.

I really couldn’t get into this despite all the rave reviews. The genre was right up my alley too!
I thought the FMC and MMC had zero chemistry. I hated that the FMC ditched her friend (who she visited the US to see) who in their right mind ditches their friend for a man they just met?
The FMC also makes ridiculous decisions regarding her sister/daughter (she practically raised her) like letting this man carry her and hold her. Going out on trips together, staying with him. She also lets his bodyguard take the child to the zoo without her? I don’t think she even liked her sister, as she has no maternal instincts or survival instincts towards her.
I think I got about 1/3 of the way through when I decided I couldn’t put myself through any more.

You might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Meggie took her younger sister after the death of their mother into hiding from a stepfather who didn’t mean anything good for them she knew she had to protect her baby sister they have been hiding for years now right in plain sight but this particular day she was the test subject for kiss on a movie set and that one kiss changed everything for her because the man who kissed her wasn’t one who walked away. Gio sexy as all get out Don owner of the film studio isn’t a man you want on your radar he is dangerous, ruthless, on a good day, deadly every day he is a man that usually goes after what he wants or who he wants he never meant to want the women who intrigued him but that kiss made him forget everything, and he wasn’t going to allow this women just walk out with all the fear in her eyes. The connection was there from the moment was the kiss, but she knew the moment he came running out after her demanding more but that created a situation out of her control it put them on her father’s radar now she had to tell him why she was running but Gio wasn’t going to let anything happen to her he vowed to protect her but could he keep them safe, why does her stepfather want with them or will he get what he deserves for all his evilness, and will it all lead to happiness?

Firstly, i would like to emphasise this is a duet. One Filthy Kiss is the opening to the storyline of The Sabatelli Empire.
We started right of with the impossible kiss. The kiss that has lead to the drama within the storyline. This kiss was also the ticking time bomb for quite a few people.

This has been a Mafia inspired storyline, only it is not as bloodthirsty in its telling. Yes, you may envision the details, but was also strangely clean.
This is not only about Gio - Meggie & Amber. This is also about Gino’s siblings - Bianca ( married to a psychotic Mafia who has sold her to the Bratva for revenge) & his brother Enzo. The playboy of the family. When losing their parents 15 yrs ago, Gio closed himself away from the family but still held position for the empire built.
We were left on a breadcrumb cliffhanger. So many questions to resolve and for survival. How will this be introduced to the next read? Both books are released at the same time so there is no waiting period.
A must read duet.

🥵 Stunning. Shocking. Dark. Must Read

If you love a dominant, possessive, gorgeous hero who will do anything to protect the woman he loves, then you will enjoy this book. The writing is smooth and easy to follow, making it a great read. It is a mix of fun, steamy, sweet, and at times it is quite dark and unsettling, but I absolutely loved it. The story takes some dark and unexpected turns, which only made me enjoy it even more! This is a duet, so expect a heart-wrenching cliffhanger at the end. Luckily, the second part of the duet is available with no waiting!

Megan “Meggie” Walsh was a bakery worker that had dedicated her life to protecting her now 5-year-old sister Amber from Amber’s evil father, and thus Meg’s stepfather, Steve “The Fish” Barone. Megan took Amber after the death of their money and disappeared in the busy streets of London, and Barone had not found them so far. Megan finally took a vacation with Emma and her actress best friend Nikki to Hollywood, CA, where Nikki was filming a movie. Megan’s life was changed in a moment, when a gorgeous man pulled her into the filming area and used Meg to demonstrate a romantic kiss, without her consent. Giovanni “Gio” Sabatelli, a mafia don and owner of the film studio, had no idea the fire storm he had unleashed when the kiss he stole from Meg was filmed. The kiss started a domino effect over which neither Gio nor Meg had control. Gio was totally enthralled with Meg and vowed to protect her and Amber. The book details their developing relationship and their travels as they go on the run to protect Amber.
Overall, I enjoyed this explicit, dark, intense, and complicated suspense story full of family drama, angst, tension, revenge, mistrust, perceived betrayal, and redemption. I would recommend this book for those readers interested in well-written, mafia romance stories.

I have no idea how this book has a 4+ star rating. I ended up DNFing it at 30%.
The story was incredibly frustrating. Megan makes one bad decision after another, often in situations where the right choice seems obvious. Gio’s sister is being abused by her husband, yet Gio chooses to focus on protecting a complete stranger instead. We’re told that his parents loved their children, but the story also reveals that his father knowingly married his sister off to an abuser. That contradiction made no sense to me.
On top of that, Megan and Gio had virtually no chemistry. Their relationship felt forced by Gio, and I never found myself invested in them as a couple. Megan being a virgin barely seemed to affect Gio at all, which felt unrealistic given the way their relationship was written.
The book became so ridiculous at times that I found myself laughing when I don’t think that was the author’s intention. Reading it felt like a chore, and I finally gave up at 30%.
Unfortunately, this book wasn’t for me, and it has made me much more cautious about picking up another book by this author.

0 stars. Such juvenile, 1-dimensional, writing. Clearly this author isn't for me based on the several other 1 & 2 star reviews of other books.
She should have said NO to him 'taking her to breakfast in New York', 4+ hours from LA. Her name is MEGAN but he calls her 'Meggie'. So dumb. He's known her not even 12 hours and decides he would die to protect her. Oh please. Maybe he should be as protective of his sister who is routinely beaten up by her husband. Oh, but that's for the all important Mafia family alliance so that can be overlooked.
Corny writing! "I’ll carry that burden around for her if it means that I get to see her smile. Really smile. Because I get the feeling that it’s been a long while since she has allowed herself to feel any kind of true joy."

All I can say at this point is VIVY Skys has outdone herself once again, as I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t stop reading until I reached the end. The amount of detail that VIVY puts into Megan and Giovanni’s story is nothing short of incredible. The drama, twists, raw emotions and nerve wracking tension just kept increasing as the story unfolded, but you should be prepared for the cliffhanger ending and even better is the fact that I don’t have to wait to read part two of Megan and Giovanni’s story.

DNF at 7%. I'm pretty sure this is the fastest DNF ever. The MMC is not a director but he's grabbing some random girl visiting the movie set to show the actor and actress how a kiss should look? He owns a casino and bought a movie set because he was bored? What? This isn't even believable. When the FMC disappears he's asking around about her and no one seems to know who she was, where she went. The director didn't even know all of that happened. Isn't that his entire job...to know what happens on set and how a scene plays out??? If I can't believe in the action and characters in the first chapter - then this book clearly isn't for me.

This is Book 1 of The Sabatelli Empire and let me tell you, this one had me right from the start!! Giovanni and Meggie are everything in a hot, power house couple! Explosive chemistry, danger, suspense, drama, angst, obsessive and protective hero, hot dark mafia romance, and lots of steam!!! Can't ask for a more explosive start to a duet!! It does end in a cliffhanger so be prepared to feel all the feels until you can finish the conclusion in Book 2. Dive in and enjoy!!!.

When visiting a movie set, Megan is Kissed by the producer, Mafia man Giovanni but that cost her so she ran, but Giovanni tracked her.
Interesting plot for the start of the duet. Someone is after Megan and she gets outed by the kiss. Giovanni is the usual possessive Mafia man who wants Megan. She is running scared and out of her depth.
Danger and so much suspense. I really loved it.
Well written and I'm looking forward to the next part of the duet.

I could not put this book down. I needed to see what happened next. Giovanni and Megan are the MCs and boy do they sizzle. Megan is protecting her little sister no matter what and Gio wants Megan. There is a LOT of danger surrounding Megan and her sister Amber. People are dropping left and right with tons of betrayal littering the path. It ends in a cliffhanger and I can not wait to start the next book. I highly, highly recommend this book to all dark romance readers.

2.The suspense and romance is a heck of a page turner.
3. Vivy has written a Phenomenal Romance book which starts off a new series.

Megan finds herself being hunted and takes her sister on the run. Running into Giovanni and being kissed so passionately was not part of the plan. Should he be Don?
It was like reading an episode of the keystone cops. His “protection “ failed every time. He didn’t keep his sister from getting beaten up. The Don, got consistently outsmarted by “The Fish”, a supposed underling. It was like every character messed up entirely. I was liking the relationship, but, seriously…this is one absolutely inept mafia family. Also, just wasn’t digging the innocent people killed body count.

May 11, 2026Dnf but I’m not rating it as I didn’t get very far into the book. I’m sorry but the mmc seemed kinda weak to me. I want my mafia men to be alpha males but this one seemed like he definitely wasn’t that. He mentioned being scared of something and then he knows his sister gets abused by her husband but does nothing about it. Just mentions that he’s going to send someone to break his fingers but he can’t kill him. Like what?! That doesn’t scream mafia man to me.

It was cute enough. I was bummed it turned out to be part one of a duology. But it was good enough to read book 2. I will be honest, how is Megan a full grown adult called Meggie by everyone. I 100% find it acceptable for her 5 year old sister to call her Meggie, but for every single adult main and side characters calling her Meggie, it was just weird. I don't know why, but that part bothered me the most.

Those 4 and 5 star reviews have got to be fake. This is a poorly written book that is about 250 pages too long. It’s the same thing said over and over. This could make a fine short story but the author thought it was a good idea to make it into two books! It sucked so bad I don’t even care to find out what happens to the fmc since this ends on a cliffhanger. No I will not read the continuation of this atrocity. This author should be fired.

The ending of this left me jumping into Filthy Sins immediately, zero pause! Because that cliffhanger leaves you with your jaw in the floor! I love how she doesn’t just fold into him and his wants but has a backbone and holds her own against him. The connection is there between them but he has to work for it! Love it!

What a story! This story grabs you from the first page and escalates all the way to the end. It is a thrilling book filled with drama that connected me to Megan and Giovanni. It ends on a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to read the next book.

So I had a bit of a time connecting with the writing with this book, which is a first from for this author, but the heart of it won out.
Lots of secrets. Gio is keeping way too many secrets.

OMG!! What a way to start off this two book series. You get sucked in with Giovanni and Megan. I love that once he hears her little sister call her Meggie, that's all he calls her, such endearment from the start. By the end of this book you are feigning for the conclusion.
