My goodness. This was a hate read. As in I hated the mmc but couldn’t not finish. It was a car wreck. I couldn’t look away. The mmc is so unlikeable it’s ridiculous. This was not a “dominant” man. It was a man afraid to be a partner. The person he was, was the reddest of red flags. I would probably give the author another try because I do like his writing style. I just hated Ralph.

interesting nonetheless
There was quite a lot to take from this story. Ralph speaks a lot about being disciplined and grounded and how he wants to only be with women he can help constantly evolve, which nothing is wrong with that. It’s actually great. Something about him makes me feel like he is overly confident in his control and discipline. I’m also all for adults choosing to not be monogamous. Ralph saying he has too much to pour into just one person because it would overflow sounds opposite to having control. He may be controlled with who he gives himself to but his discipline sounds more limited than what he actually knows of himself. I need Ralph to actually relax and learn what femininity is. His own ideologies are boxed it shows in his attitude towards even simple things like entertainment. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has daddy issues that he thinks aren’t issues. Nonetheless I enjoyed a lot of parts of this story. I’m going to make my male friends read it so I can hear their point of view.

This was an interesting read — not your typical romance, and definitely not from the usual perspective. Seeing the story unfold through a dominant man’s POV was refreshing, even if a little jarring at first. The writing had moments that pulled me in, especially when it explored control, vulnerability, and power dynamics in a way that felt raw instead of forced.
That said, parts of the story felt uneven — sometimes emotional depth was sacrificed for steam, and I wanted a little more character development to match the intensity. Still, I respect the attempt to flip the narrative and give a voice to a character type we rarely hear from directly.
If you’re into darker romance themes and want something different from the usual female POV, this one’s worth checking out.

Waste of time. Mad I started this book and wanted to leave this book unfinished. hated how the book ended with no ending.
