"Careful. Keep making me look this good, and I might actually fall for you."

🩸 Book Review: Crimson Oath by Bly Forsythe 🩸
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spoiler-Free Summary:
Gabriela Carmine was turned by the man she loved. Now she rules the vampire underworld with vengeance in her heart and blood on her hands. But when a brutal supernatural murder takes place in her club, she’s forced into an uneasy alliance with Dante Vermillion - a rival vampire from a powerful bloodline with secrets of his own. As they hunt for answers, old enemies resurface, new dangers awaken, and a bond forms that neither of them could have anticipated.

I loved this book - every page, every moment, every drop of blood-soaked tension. 🖤

This was such a fun, fast-paced read and I’m so invested in what’s going to happen next in book two. I adored the worldbuilding and the cast of characters - every single one felt vivid and layered. In less than 300 pages, Bly Forsythe managed to create an incredibly engaging and immersive world that I cannot wait to return to.

Her writing style was sharp, dark, and addictive - I was completely sucked in from the first chapter and couldn’t put it down. The tension, the mystery, the perfectly balanced spice… it all worked together beautifully.

If you love vampires, powerful female leads, enemies-to-lovers tension, and atmospheric worldbuilding, this one is an absolute must-read.

🩸 I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for book two — I need more Gabriela and Dante immediately.

Gabriela Carmine has the makings of a compelling heroine—a betrayed lover turned ruthless vampire queen—but the story doesn’t always let her shine. While the book spends a lot of time describing her outfits and her ice-cold attitude, it often feels like the plot is happening around her instead of being driven by her choices. For a character with so much power and presence, I wanted to see her play a bigger role in shaping the events.
The enemies-to-lovers tension with Dante adds some sparks, and there are fun supernatural elements at play, but overall, the book leaned more on style than substance for me. I was left craving a deeper plot and more agency from Gabriela herself. A solid premise with a striking main character, but one that ultimately fell a bit flat. 3 stars.

This book was such a fun, fast-paced read. I was hooked from the beginning and found myself flying through the pages. Bly did the characters justice, the main character is sharp, clever, and easy to root for while the male character is just beyond dreamy. Their characteristics worked well together and it showed throughout the story.

The story does move quickly (maybe a little too quick in parts), which is why it’s a 4-star for me, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying every second. It’s a strong start to the Darkhearts series, and I’m definitely excited to see where things go next

This book was a delight to read! It kept me entertained and wanting to read more, the whole way through! It did tend to rush through a little and that’s why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The main character was intriguing and witty and the male character had me getting a little heated at times. Can’t wait to see how the rest of the series pans out!

I received an ARC from Book Sirens and I am voluntarily leaving my review for free.

This was a great book! The FMC Gabriela is a successful business owner who is also a Vampire. She has built her life in Rio, but the life she built starts coming apart. The MMC Dante is a rival to Gabriela but is summoned to help her figure out why people close to her are dying. Secrets and Gabrielas past are showing up and they must find out why!

I thought this book was really well written.
The plot was interesting and kept my attention the entire way through. I got to 97% and was upset it was almost finished!
Excited for a book 2
