Twelve-year-old Marcie is desperate for her dad’s love. But when her powers threaten to strip him of his title of Overlord, he plots to destroy her. She flees to neighbouring planet Devilian but his spies follow. Facing strange beings she must conjure all her courage, wield her warrior training and question her beliefs. And the more she discovers about herself the scarier things become. Suspenseful and humorous, action-packed fantasy in a world where devils are good and family can be bad. “Action-packed from the outset, a fascinating fantasy.” MG Harris, best-selling author of ‘The Joshua Files’ “Cleverly, twists and turns, moving the story on, drawing you in and keeping you there hungry to know what will happen next. Descriptions breathe and the pace beats like an athlete’s heart. Liane’s talent for storytelling is on another level, exquisite and a joy to read.” Anita Andrews, School Governor and owner of www.writers-clinic.webs.com
Got the pleasure of reading this book. Must admit at first it felt like a slow start, but the more I read the more interesting it became. We all have inner demons we constantly fight and needs we seem unable to fulfill. Marcie is a young girl with many doubts and in want of her father's love. Join her in this journey of self discovery and see what will become of her need for approval from her dad. Also meet two of the most interesting and amazing friends a fur can have. Duggit is like her warrior but he too has secrets. Reece is funny and loyal. All three together make the perfect team. Meet other mythical creatures along the way as Marcie tries to overcome her grief, disappointment towards not being loved by her father, and discovering herself. This story has action, comic relief, a bit of fantasy, and a dash of drama. Great read for all ages with an open mind to the unexplainable. Definitely looking forward to what will happen next.
I really enjoyed this book! It's serious and fanciful simultaneously. It's full of realizations, mystery and magic. Thoroughly original and magnificent. I can't recommend this book enough! It left me craving more!!
