Omegas Fight Dirty #1

Knot Their Soldier: Part One

Rate this book
I’m supposed to be a soldier… not a plaything for my superior officers.

But tell that to the Prime Alpha who orders me around like I’m already his.
The brooding giant who watches me like he’s starving.
The Beta whose softest touches make my knees weak.
And the psycho Alpha who looks at me like he might kiss me — or ruin me.

They’re off-limits. Forbidden. Deadly. Bound by duty in this endless war.

Yet, no matter how hard I try to resist, my Omega instinct craves them.
It’s impossible and wrong, because Packs don’t exist anymore. And Alphas don’t share.

So why, when they pin me down in training, do I ache to submit to all four?

Knot Their Part One is a why choose Omegaverse romance with steamy combat, forced proximity, and irresistible tension. Expect a cliffhanger, a dystopian world where desire is deadly, and a Pack is worth fighting for. Keep reading the series for a satisfying and steamy happily ever after.

Bridget Blake is an Australian living in the United Kingdom who devours smutty stories like it’s her job. If she can’t find what she wants to read, she writes it herself. The filthier, the better.

Her love of romance began with reading fan fiction on her family’s dial-up computer under the cloak of midnight, and her love for paranormal romance grew from there. Growly Alphas and sassy Omegas are what currently get her going.

When she isn’t writing something dirty, she enjoys gaming with her husband and cuddling their geriatric cat. She’s lived in coastal surfing villages, outback Australian mining towns, central London, and now the British countryside.

Her experiences shape her stories and she believes reading should be a delightful escape with happy endings. I’m an independent author and open to suggestions.

This book was so hard to put down. Even when I did I was still thinking about it. The characters were easy to fall in love with and I just wanted to hug them and give them everything they wanted. There was a lot of action as well so it definitely kept my interest. I can not wait for the second book!!! I have to continue their story!!.

Edited: to add: okay I kept going and you know what, the story is pretty compelling!

The heroine actually gets better after about 55% so I've revised and rounded up my rating. If you can get past the issues I mentioned earlier, it's pretty good.

I like the fact that although she is horny and ridiculous she does actually end up getting MAD and lashing out at the ones who deserve it.

Also, I was 100% feeling the spice. Sue me.

DNF

This book had an entertaining plot but I struggled with the heroine. She was way too ditsy and horny to take seriously.

She also lacked the maturity of a 30 something heroine and came off at least ten years younger.

If she'd been a little less thirsty and used her brain a bit more, I would have really liked her.

The mild bully themes work really well in this setting, even if things are a bit contrived, it's easy enough to overlook because of the chemistry.

Big boy Viper is a darling and so is feral psycho Blaze. Shade is a little harder to read but then there's a scene that threw me... so let's just say I'm intrigued.

Sadly another DNF. Why are all the OV books so bad lately. The FMC is a damaged Omega, we don't know why yet, who is living in a special area of the military for omegas seeking sanctuary when she basically saves the life of a top Alpha soldier who went into blood lust and was about to be put down. How is she rewarded for saving this super soldier? Oh she's thrown in solitary for three days as punishment for helping the soldier then punished further by being tossed to the front lines where she has to train to be a soldier. And her team are a bunch of assholes, one who upon meeting her, throws a dog collar on her, yells at her and makes her dig a hole in the dirt cause he's in a bad mood. And the FMC is insufferable, constantly feeling horny for the band of jackasses. I gave up when I realized this was turning into a rage read.

If you’re expecting a soft and cuddly Omegaverse where omegas are cherished and protected, think again. Bridget has thrown all that out the window and replaced it with a brutal, war-torn world where survival is the only comfort and humanity itself is the enemy. From the opening pages, it’s clear this isn’t your typical alpha/omega dynamic, it’s raw, tense, and unapologetically bleak. At the heart of the chaos is Halley, an omega sold off by her family but manages to escape to end up at a military base, where she is safe, but cannot leave. When she’s recruited for an experiment meant to turn her into a soldier, she suddenly finds herself entangled with four very different men, each bringing their own brand of danger and devotion. Blaze immediately steals the spotlight with his unhinged yet magnetic personality. He’s the kind of alpha who keeps you constantly guessing. Intense, unpredictable, but with a surprising streak of tenderness that peeks through his chaos. His playfulness hides deep wounds, and he gets some of the best lines in the book. Viper, the hardened alpha with a violent past, radiates power and mystery. His connection with Halley feels instant, almost fated. Knox, the stoic prime alpha leading the unit, is stubborn to the bone, but when he admits he’s wrong or shows affection in subtle, quiet ways, it hits all the harder. And then there’s Shade, the beta tech genius and caretaker of the group. He’s the glue that holds them together, tending wounds, managing the chaos, and grounding the squad with warmth and humor. The spice level is gentler than expected—especially considering Bridget’s bio—but that restraint only fuels the tension. Desire simmers just beneath the surface, forbidden and dangerous in a world where packs no longer exist and intimacy between ABOs is outlawed. That taboo edge gives every glance and touch extra weight. It’s hard to say how long this series will run, but it’s clear Bridget is playing the long game, building a complex world and carefully laying the groundwork for Halley’s “why-choose” dynamic. Of course, the “Part 1” in the title doesn’t even try to hide that there’s going to be a cliffhanger ending and after so much angst and slow-burning desire, I’m more than ready for Part 2 and hoping the whole crew finally gets to release some of that tension (in more ways than one 😉).

Halley and Her Future . . .

Halley Sparks is an Omega who has just had her first heat and whose family sells her. She is expecting to get her mate and finally find love. But government officials arrive and things are not as she imagined. Thankfully she manages to escape and finds herself on a military base that allows Omegas, although they do not allow her to leave once she is there. With a war going on, they decide to try training her as a soldier, and she will meet four men who may end up changing her life if she can survive all that is happening around her: Blaze, Viper, Knox, and Shade will enter her life. Each of them are different but worth knowing.

Halley's initial experience occurred in the hospital, having faced down Lieutenant Alpha Viper who is brought in from the battle suffering Blood Lust due to the overwhelming experiences he has gone through in the fighting. We learn so much about Halley's gentle caring and ability to remain strong during danger. She is protective of others and is determined to help Viper if she can since she had noticed he was trying to fight back against the disease and not hurt others. He was worth saving. Rather than put him down, was there any chance of bringing him out of the grip of the blood lust disease? His beta friend begs them to sedate him and save him, but a nurse says he is too far gone. So Halley steps in to help, to keep the hospital personnel safe and to try to bring sanity back to the raging Alpha. There is plenty of excitement for the reader and you won't want to miss Halley's adventures as she meets those men and we find out what is ahead of her. Will Halley ultimately find happiness with them? Or will nothing be as she expected?

This was my first story by Bridget Blake and I really enjoyed how she's done Halley's story so far! The plot kept me engaged, the pacing overall felt right and I've really enjoyed the character and relationship development so far. Halley and her four love interests each had group and individual bonding moments which I like to see. I'd say this was a slow to medium burn as there are mild spicy scenes in this book but none were full spicy. This added to the tension between Halley and her love interests I feel as they're forbidden to act on the attraction adding that taboo layer to the relationship. I can happily recommend the start of this series, I really enjoyed the tension between the characters and looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Out of the love interests, I enjoyed Blaze's unhinged personality the most. He knows what he wants when it comes to Halley and is an unpredictable alpha who leaves you guessing. He is really caring and sweet towards her which makes him my favourite. Viper is another alpha whose known for having a violent history in the military and seems to share a strong connection with Halley from the get go. Knox is our last alpha of the love interests and is the prime alpha leader of the unit; he is stubborn, stuck in his ways but does acknowledge when he is wrong and does sweet gestures without saying he did them. Lastly, we have Shade whose the tech support beta of the group and has the caretaker role, making sure all of them are cared for in multiple capacities from food to chores to injuries. He has a great nickname given to him by Halley and I loved his reaction and Blaze's throughout the story!

Disclaimer I DNF'd this one at 84%. Also, as always these are my person opinions based on my personal preferences. Your mileage will vary. No two people read a book the same way.

This book was OK, the issue is I couldn't really connect to most of the characters and I found myself skimming a lot. It has an interesting premise, the author is building a lot of dynamics, but I find its taking too long to get to the point. I think it could have been condensed by removing some of the repetitive pieces, and fleshing out a few things we didn't get much of.

Another thing that got on my nerves a bit is the flip flopping between anger and forgiveness. I felt the MC apologized when she shouldn't be the one to apologize, forgave too easily and too easily went from anger to love. This happened multiple times. I feel they could have built off a lot of those moment when the MC got angry or was wronged but things/emotions built and then crashed as its just let go. You don't get the satisfaction of that pay off.

I think its hard to balance "omega" and "badass". I like the ideas the author had but I felt it wasn't executed well. It wasn't bad, I like a lot of the things the author is presenting (like what the "true power" of an omega is) and it had promise, but I felt it was too in the middle of "omega" and "badass", like the MC couldn't decide which one to be instead of being both.

So to summarize, cool concept, not bad, things just fell short for me personally and I lost interest.

4.25 stars. This long serial beginning is mostly quintuple lead character POV, well written, and a fast-paced, slow burn, action focused, suspenseful, omegaverse reverse harem romance beginning ending in an advertised cliffhanger. I enjoyed the tenacity and resilience of Halley, the female omega lead. I empathised with the tight rein that Knox, the male prime alpha lead, kept on himself and the rest of his squad, and enjoyed seeing him start to relax. I enjoyed the contrast between competing personality elements of Viper, the second male alpha lead. I empathised with the as yet undivulged trauma of Blaze, the last male alpha lead, and enjoyed the way he used playfulness to hide his damage. I enjoyed the balance that Shade, the male beta lead, provided to the squad as a whole. I enjoyed the individual dyad relationships building between Halley and the males, as well as the overall group relationship. This story was mainly foreplay and temptation, though the author says there will more steam and spice in the next two stories and I’m waiting for it! I enjoyed the complex non-romance plot that is building and am curious to see it play out. Impatiently waiting for the next instalment….

Halley is a sheltered Omega, having had no real contact with anyone except for her family. If only it was a loving sheltered life. Her family really does not see her value at all other than what her dynamic can get them. So when she had the chance to make something more of her life, she took it. It may not be much but she now has friends who cares about her. That is until an incident draws attention to her for other reasons and she finds herself assigned to a pack to be trained into a soldier. There's not much direction but to follow the pack's order.

Know, Viper, Shade, and Blaze have been assigned to train Halley to see what she is capable of. There really is not much direction but they do what they can. However, they are drawn to her so it's a fight to fight their own natural instinct to claim her while trying to follow their orders. Will they succeed or will they fail?

I'm pretty new to this author. I do tend to just stick with authors I'm familiar with but I'm glad I gave this author a chance. Bridget Blake has created this new OV world where we get a glimpse of what the world is like, but is still a mystery. And that cliffhanger...my heart is hurting for all of them! I'm hooked and I can't wait to find out what happens next!

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. Let me start by saying that this book ends on a cliffhanger. I wanted to get that out of the way. Halley Sparks family kept her hidden away when they determined she would be an omega. They knew they could get a good price for her by sending her to the mateship program. Unfortunately, Halley was ineligible for that program and was to be placed with in the companionship program. Halley was warned that she did not want to do that. So Halley took the advice and ran. She made it to her destination at the Barkrood Military Base and requested sanctuary in the Omega Division.

Flashforward eleven years later. Halley has been safe and sound at the military base. The Omega Division had quite a few omegas. Unfortunately, they can only do certain things and can never be around the alpha soldiers. There is a lot of unrest between the humans and the wolves. Halley is very headstrong. She also cares fiercely like the omega she is. Halley is also very lonely despite being with her friends. There are certain things that omegas need to survive and they are lacking in some areas.

That is just the first half of the book. After courageously helping an alpha in the throws of blood lust, Halley is sent to the field to join a squad. Scorch Squad-1 consisted of Beta Specialist Shade, Prime Alpha Knox, Lieutenant Viper and Sergeant Blaze. They needed to get Halley soldier ready. As I said before, there are things that omegas need. There is a lot going on after Halley joins Scorch Squad. There is a lot of fighting the pull to each other. Jump on this wild ride to see if these five people can work together. It is a lot of push and pull with this group. The dominate alphas don't know what to do with Halley and her special gifts. This book gives readers a lot to think about. I am ready for the next book in this series. I love how strong Halley is. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Their Omega by MeemsAngel82

This was a great read and I'm first off a mf kind of gal. That being said, I love me a good read and this was entertaining. The story gets right into it and immediately I understand this bleak world. My heart broke for her, a whole life just given away and for greed.

Her family sold her off. She ends up at a Military base and finds herself and her loves.

I know ordinarily Omegas are cherished. They are loved and protected in an ideal world and sought after. But some worlds aren't like that and it's great to wonder just how she'll find her happiness. It kept me intrigued and I loved her finding her strength. She really came into her own and she is strong. I loved all the guys and the varying personalities worked for me. I can only guess as to what can possibly happen next! I was so hoping for no cliffhangers, but I knowingly went into this and hey, I get more time with this bunch! I'm hoping this is a whole world with varying characters finding their very own HEAs and fighting against the people like her dad.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

Four stars because I genuinely couldn’t put it down, this story had all the elements that I love in a book. I love army settings that involve them being isolated and banding together.

The FMC was funny, humorously horny, and a good combination of omega-softness with a backbone and opinions.

The MMCs were distinct and convincingly attractive. Viper, my favourite big, hulking alpha who is the softest marshmallow. Shade, strong, capable beta with a tongue ring. Blaze, obsessive psychopath pyromaniac, and Knox, prime alpha with no clue what to do with an omega.

There was a good mix of alphas who were being idiotic men with the context that they had little to no experience with interacting with an omega. That alone tampered down the rage felt when they mistreated Halley.

One star removed because there were moments where it felt really forced. Especially towards the end, it felt like they could’ve just calmed down and TALKED but instead they all became super dramatic.

Still. I’m already halfway through the second and know I’ll be anxiously awaiting the third…in 2027 😛

I love this book!
I find that Omega’s are often portrayed as the fairer sex and always rely on their Alpha’s for protection. I was so pleased to read about an Omega who wanted something better, and who wanted to feel needed. I like Halley. She is fun, feisty, and fiery. She sees herself as being worth just as much as the Alpha’s, but unfortunately she lives in a world that sees Omega’s as something to be owned.
I think the plot is great. I love how Halley has to be a working member of the squad. I think the situations that she finds herself in are hilarious and never mind how she slowly winds up the Alpha’s; The tension is palpable. The characters of the team are fully rounded, from the intelligent Beta, Shade, to the excitable Blaze, steady Viper and emotionally unavailable Knox. I think their banter is excellent and it is clear to see that they have been working together for years.
This is one of the best books I have read all year. The only disappointing thing is that I have to wait to read the conclusion!
This is a 5 star read!

Omegas are not meant to be soldiers. They are soft, nurturing, and naturally submissive. However, Omega Halley Sparks has been ordered to join a secret Alpha group for training. It's not a disaster, but it's definitely not smooth sailing. Personalities clash, communication is lacking, and resentment lingers. But there are moments. Breakthroughs are made, mysteries uncovered, and skills strengthened. But then boundaries are crossed before trust is won. What should bring them closer drives them apart. Loyalty and love are hard won, and Halley has to think of those she left behind. They were the reason for her every action from the beginning, and she couldn't allow herself to be distracted and used.

This isn't a bad read, but I struggled at times. It was slow. I'm not sure if it was the pacing, if the story dragged, or if it was me. I wish there had been less filler and more momentum. I thought the characters were well developed, and if not always likable, they were true to themselves. I do think the cliffhanger was intriguing, and the second book has great potential. 3.75 stars

Well this was unexpected. I enjoy omegaverse books. This one, well, this one was so good! It has the typical structure of an omegaverse story with alphas, betas, and omegas, but that is where it diverges into something totally different.

It is set in a dystopian world and omegas are not pampered and cherished. They are captives and sold off. There is one place where they can escape to and it's on a military base.

This is the story of alphas learning about an omega. An omega learning about her own strength, and a beta trying to keep them all together.

Oh the emotions I felt! That despair you feel when the story is in it's darkest and you don't know how they will work through it all. It's there. It does end on a cliffhanger, but it's at just the right moment.

I am SO looking forward to the next part of this series!.

What a complete and utter epic read! This isn't like any omegaverse I've encountered before, and it's fantastic.

The story features Alphas, Betas, and Omegas, set against the backdrop of a war with humans who want to rid the world of these new designations.

I loved each and every character: Blaze, with his energetic, puppy-like personality; Knox, who has an intense need to control everything; Viper, who shows a sweet side despite his toughness; and Shade, who has a focused demeanor and constantly thinks through every situation.

One of my favorite quotes from Blaze about Shade perfectly captures his essence: "I can assure you, sparkles. No one makes Shade do a thing he hasn't thought through. The guy never stops thinking."

That ending—wow! I can't wait for book two! The story is filled with angst, drama, and tension, and while it is low on spice, it didn't need it. Once again, it was a fantastic read!

Halley has had her first Omega heat. Her father has been hiding her since he realized she was going to be an omega. He seems for a representative of the Omega union. She's told by this rep she's defective and will go to the companion division. The rep's beta talks to her and tells her to go to the military base and to tell them she wants to join the Omega division.
Eleven years later she is still there. One day she's assigned a job in the hospital and heals the mate of her first friend. Then an alpha goes into blood lust. She helps him. Eventually she's sent to become a part of the military as an experiment. If she fails the Omega division will be ended. Now she must turn into a military Omega.
Will she survive the idiot prime alpha and the unit she's assigned.
A fascinating story!!!!.

If you live for dark Omegaverse and especially why choose, you NEED to pick this up immediately. The blurb promised pure chaos and delicious forbidden tension, and this book delivered on every single level. Our Omega FMC, a soldier, finds herself caught between four incredibly dangerous and compelling Alphas – the Prime, the Brooding Giant, the soft Beta, and the Psycho Alpha. The power dynamics, the forced proximity in a military dystopia, the steamy combat scenes? It's all just chef's kiss! 🔥 The tension is palpable, the spice is definitely there, and the way the author sets up the 'building a pack' trope is just phenomenal. That cliffhanger has me absolutely desperate for Part Two! So close to a 5-star, I'm already counting down the seconds until the next one!.

I simply ❤️ a fresh twist on an Omegaverse...Halley is an Omega and has been treated like her destination will be given to the highest bidder until she's told that she is defective. For over a decade, she has been put on a military base for her security. Viper, Know, Shade, and Blaze make up the Scorh Squad, and their mission is to make Halley a soldier. Is their magic in the bonding process of this Omega and the men of Scorh Squad? There is so much sexual chemistry and teasing 😛 that you can't help but continue reading. This was such an engaging series opener that's set in a dystopian world. Omegas are not pampered and our gal, Halley, has been sold off by her family, only to escape and find a life that's still so restricted. When she gets placed in an experimental unit with three alphas and a beta, her world starts to really open up. I have to say my heart broke for her circumstances and how she had to try and fight her dynamic while trying to become a soldier... I was hooked on this slow burn romance that's filled with angst, drama, action, emotions and some spice. With the cliffy tormenting me, I'm really looking forward to the next installment to see how her story continues to unfold. Good fun!

Great beginning. Halley is a defective omega who ends up in The Omega Division. When she stops an Alpha from killing everyone from 'Blood Lust' she comes to the attention of a General. He decides that she is going to be trained to the militaries standards with his shadow op group. They are three alpha's and a beta. Introducing Halley to the men proves to test their resistant to the omega's attraction. This book is full of drama, mixed emotions, and ends with a cliff-hanger with the men wondering what went wrong.

This was a very unique Omegaverse where the Omega is sold off, escapes to a military area that offers her sanctuary and then ends up on a team of dominate soldiers who are to train her to see what she can do. The book has a lot of tension (hence slow burn) and the amount of resistance they all have to observe is quite impressive. There were a few slow parts in this story; however, since the OV universe that this is set in is very unique it is important to get a full description of the dynamics and society before moving the story forward. I am interested in how this will all play out for this Omega!

I thoroughly enjoyed this & the dynamics it explored however while I loved the MMCs, the FMC seemed stunted and childish, and I wish it delved further into her backstory to explain this, however I’m sure this will come up in the sequel. Similarly, the world-building left a lot to be desired and I hope it’s expanded upon. My only issue is that I wish the epilogue did not exist, it completely ruins the ending & reveals the main reason for a large plot point. It’s unneeded and it would’ve been better off if we naturally found it out rather than having it literally shoved in our faces by telling not showing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 stars!!!!

Slow burn? Absolutely.
Spice? None.
Tension? Off. The. Charts.

Book two, I’m coming for you!!!

A mistreated omega escapes her family and claims sanctuary in the army, where omegas are protected by law. Things happen, and she eventually ends up training in a squad of three alphas and a beta.

The premise was very interesting!! The book was well written, gripping, and simmering with tension! Think loaded stares, sharp banter, and emotions no one wants to admit.

The characters were frustrating at times though (especially the heroine)… but not everything is meant to be solved in book one, so I'll allow it...
Now please let book two bring the spice!!!!

Knot Their Soldier: Part One by Bridget Blake is a fierce blend of heat, danger, and forbidden longing. Set in a world where packs are outlawed and desire can destroy, it follows a soldier caught between duty and instinct. The chemistry is explosive, the world-building gritty, and the emotional stakes high.

It’s heavy on spice and tension, sometimes at the expense of plot—but the angst and intensity keep you turning pages. Be warned: it ends on a brutal cliffhanger that’ll leave you craving Part Two.

This was so good. I was intrigued by the idea and it exceeded expectations. Halley is navigating a world that doesn’t see her as valuable. She spends years hiding. Then a chance encounter opens up a whole new possibility. Next thing she knows she’s shipped off to train for something she never wanted with some ruthless soldiers. I really enjoyed the dynamics and the banter was hilarious. Blaze has some of the best lines. This ends on a cliffhanger and I am going to be counting the moments to the next one.

There is plenty of intensity and simmering heat to bask in as this story unfolds. There is a sharp edge to this tale that is as seductive as it is cutting. It grabbed my attention and interest and refused to let go. I found the characters complex and intriguing. The pull of attraction and the sparks was powerful and abundant. The burn here is slow and for me anyways it felt excruciatingly so. However, the drama, action and twists more than make up for it and easily keep your heart and mind in the game. I am anxiously eager to see what happens in the next book.

SO MUCH TENSION! I loved it!

This is the first book I’ve read by Bridget and she didn’t disappoint. I’m literally obsessed with all the characters. The FMC Halley managed to surprise me serval times. Everytime I thought I knew what she was going to do, she did the opposite (but in a good way, she’s not predictable). I love love love her men… or soon to be men at least. Blake, Shade, and Viper all have a special place in my heart and Knox is growing on me. I truly wonder what’s to come next. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Great story

I loved how the author made this book engaging right from the start. Getting to know each character intimately then weaving them into situations which allowed them to bond was done with such a fine hand, everything felt fluid. I enjoyed the evolution of their story. I was a bit disappointed at the cliffhanger which felt a bit off from the rest of the book. I am not sure how they will come back from that. However it means there is more to come which is definitely a good thing as I wasn’t ready to let these characters go.

This is one Omegaverse I didn't want to leave. I was hooked right away by this dystopian world and its amazing characters. It was addictive in the best way. The slow burn and tension throughout the book were so good. I seriously couldn't get enough.

The cliffhanger has left me eagerly anticipating book 2.
