My Brother's Best Man

Rate this book
I came to my best friend's wedding to be the perfect best man.

I didn't expect to end up in bed with the one man I've spent three years trying to forget.

Julian Reed has been in love with Cassian McKinley since college—his best friend's devastatingly gorgeous older brother who clearly can't stand him.

When a burst pipe floods Julian's hotel room, he's forced to share space with the last person he wants to be alone with. But being trapped together reveals the the hatred they've been throwing at each other isn't hatred at all.

It's three years of desperate, unspoken want.

Cassian has been ice-cold to Julian for reasons Julian never understood. But when the walls finally come down, years of buried desire explode between them. Suddenly, all that simmering tension has nowhere to hide.

One scorching night changes everything. But with the wedding approaching and his best friend's happiness on the line, Julian has to is this just weekend madness, or something worth fighting for?

Brother's best friend • Enemies-to-lovers • Forced proximity • High steam • HEA

Some love stories are worth the wait. This one's worth everything.

About the author

Taylor Knox

47 books7 followers
Taylor Knox writes emotionally rich MM romance about the men who risk everything—on the job and in love. Set in the world of firefighters, EMTs, and those who love them, her stories blend high-stakes action with slow-burning chemistry, deep vulnerability, and the kind of found family that heals old wounds.

She’s fascinated by the contrast between strength and softness, tradition and transformation—and her characters always face more than just fire. Whether it’s a rookie trying to prove himself or a battle-hardened captain learning to open his heart again, Taylor’s romances deliver intensity, tenderness, and hard-earned happy endings.

When she’s not writing about men falling in love against the odds, she’s drinking too much coffee, falling for fictional crushes, and pretending her search history is all for “research.”

When they're face to face again several years later their painful past comes roaring back. Both Julian and Cassian are attending a wedding and awkward is the word of the day. But aside from that they also feel something else. (not that!!) It's a shortish, angsty tale but a rather touching read.

I read this Oct 2025. I'm not sure why is disappeared from Goodreads. I read it again anyways because the 2nd book is out.

3 years of both MCs pining due to little misunderstanding. Short, sweet, instalove.

seems computer generated

Continuity issues, changing story line, repetition including seeing him come out of the bathroom for the first time twice. Not sure a real person wrote this.

Julian and Cassian were both so great, and I died over the fact that they had both been in love with each other this whole time and kept reading one another wrong. I died over how Cassian offered Julian to stay with him when his hotel room was no longer an option and how the two of them finally talked about what was going on between them and got together. They were so great and this was another fun and super quick read!
