Elaine and Jace’s story was cute ! They both fell quick and hard and were swooning over each other. I did sometimes want to pinch Elaine due to some of her actions but I enjoyed this story nonetheless.

Jace was so sweet and patient with Elaine and never rushed her through their journey that they went through and I felt so much for him due to his past. Harden pissed me off SO BADD!

I thought this was a cute read. The chapters flowed well from one pov to the next. Both MC went through so many emotional struggles which made the book interesting. My only issue with it overall is they felt very much like a high school couple when they are mid to late 20s. Overall I would recommend this read

I was locked into this book from the beginning. Elaine has been through alot in life, including an ex boyfriend found hiding in her attic. She decides it's time for change and moves away from the city and back to the small town she really liked. Jace was involved in a car accident with his best friend when they were younger, his best friend happens to be Elaine's brother. Their friendship was ruined over that accident. When Elaine returns to small town living, she returns where Jace remained. One look at Elaine at an odd moment, puts her in Jace's sight. What would her family think if she was interested in Jace? The twists and turns kept me turning pages and I finished this book in less than seven hours!!!! This was a great book and I really enjoyed reading it!

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

At first, I was really into the book — the premise grabbed me straight away. But as the story went on, the pacing felt a little too fast for me, and the insta-love aspect made it hard to fully connect with the characters.

I also didn’t enjoy the shift in tone towards the end. It suddenly turned into more of a thriller/mystery, which took me out of the romance and wasn’t the direction I was hoping for.

Overall, it had potential, but the pacing, insta-love, and genre shift at the end didn’t fully work for me.

Finding Us by Iyanna Fuller Peart. Finding Us is Iyanna's debut novel. And I have to say that this was a stunning debut novel. I can honestly say from the moment I opened this book I was enthralled; it is well written and keeps the reader engaged. I got so enthralled in this book that I honestly couldn't put it down till I read the last word. I honestly can't believe this is a debut novel, it's just that exceptional.

Elaine Ross thought she had finally gotten away from her abusive ex, at least that is until she discovered him hiding above her ceiling. No longer feeling safe staying in the same place as him, Elaine decides to run, she finds a new town, builds a new life for herself, her photography career is finally starting to gain momentum. Elaine is bound and determined to stay focused on her career, stay safe, but most of all she is going to remain single.

That is until Jace Roberts comes walking back into her life.

Jace is the man responsible for almost killing her brother a decade ago, responsible for her family's tragedy.
Jace, the man who was once her brother best friend.
Jace, the man she knows is dangerous...but that's only because she can't find it in herself to stay away from him.

Elaine sees that Jace is drowning in guilt, that he's haunted by the choices that he's made, choices that have shattered everything he once held dear. And seeing Elaine again brings everything all back – Jace once again feels all that pain, thinks about all the what-if's and suddenly he's feeling this desire he knows he was never meant to feel. Elaine makes Jace feel like he wants to face the pace head on...and actually fight for a future he never thought he actually deserved.

As Jace and Elaine start to navigate the road of healing, this forbidden desire pulls them ever closer with each and every passing moment.

But just when Elaine thinks that she has managed to successfully start over, she discovers there's a new danger that's lurking not far off, watching her, waiting for the right moment to reveal itself.

I have to say that this was an absolutely delightful romantic suspense. From the very first word it drew me in and kept me enthralled. Both Jace and Elaine are engaging characters and I loved seeing them work through their personal issues while they grew closer together and started to form a bond.

Iyanna did such a stunning job with the pacing of this story and I just adored the slow torturous burn of the romance between Elaine and Jace. They truly were the perfect pair in this book and their chemistry together led to some very spicy hot scenes. But I loved that the spicy scenes were in no way gratuitous, they were written with sensitivity and care and each scene worked towards cementing the couple’s growing relationship and bond.

As I was reading, I was playing out so many different endings for this book, but the way this book ended, I never saw that one coming. The scenes at the end, the double twist really and truly had my heart pounding out of my chest, my adrenaline spiking through the roof and I was on the edge of my seat. Bravo Iyanna! Masterfully done for a debut novel.

Iyanna is an author that I am going to be following closely and I can't wait to read her next book when it comes out. Congratulations on a stunning debut novel.

FINDING US by IYANNA FULLER PEART ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.3 / 5)

Finding Us is Iyanna’s debut novel

Following a noxious relationship, Elaine Ross starts over. New life, new home, a budding career and definitely no more relationships. But then, by chance, she meets Jace Roberts, the man responsible for a devastating car accident that almost cost her brother’s life a decade ago. She should hate him, shouldn’t want anything to do with him, but there’s just something about him that breaks through her reservations.

Despite knowing there could be deep repercussions, and each fighting their own confusion and guilt, the pair slowly grow closer, determined to look forward, to not dwell on the past.

Elaine finally thinks her future could be bright, but the path to true love never runs smooth….

—————————————
This was a delightful romantic suspense, that drew me in from the beginning. Both MC’s are engaging and it was great seeing them both work through their own issues whilst growing together. The story is paced well and the slow burn between the pair perfect, leading up to some open door spicy scenes. That said the spice was in no way gratuitous, was tastefully written and worked towards cementing the couple’s growing relationship.

I have to say I truly didn’t see the end coming. My mind had played it out differently and the scenes at the end and the double twist truly had my heart pounding, my adrenaline spiking and my stomach roiling. Bravo!

As a debut book for this author it is outstanding! The story runs smoothly and certainly kept me engaged - I got so invested I couldn’t put the darn thing down, to the point I actually read it within 24 hrs. That said I found the MC’s relationship a bit ‘saccharine’ at the beginning and there were a couple of tiny details towards the end that irritated me ( no spoilers, you’ll just have to read to see if you agree with me 😘). Hence the 4.3 /5 score (rounded down). I will most definitely be following this exciting new author in the future and look forward to more of her work! I highly recommend this book.

📖 My Thoughts ~

I want to start by saying a massive thank you to Iyanna for trusting me with your art. Being one of the very first people you shared snippets of this story with, long before it was ready for the world, is a privilege I don't take lightly. I am so incredibly proud of you! Knowing you since last year and getting to make character edits early in my own journey while you were building this world has been such a special experience. Watching your growth as a writer and seeing this book come to life makes me so proud to call myself your friend!!

Finding Us is a breathtaking journey of healing and forbidden love that I couldn't put down. The story follows Elaine back to Cupids Creek as she seeks a fresh start after a traumatic event, where she finds herself falling for Jace, her brother’s ex-best friend. Jace is the definition of a neon green flag!! He never once wavered in his devotion, and his broken sense of humor made me feel so seen! Their chemistry is adorable, and the way Jace manages to make Elaine fall in love with flowers all over again is a beautiful testament to how he sees and cherishes her. The banter kept me laughing, but the suspense toward the end had me on the absolute edge of my seat. Everything was put together so perfectly, particularly that soul-stirring reveal in the epilogue where we learn someone vital to Jace’s life had unknowingly met and blessed Elaine before their romance even began. I’ve loved DM-ing Iyanna my live reactions to every chapter, and I am officially Jace Roberts’ biggest fan. This story is a masterpiece of emotion and "meant-to-be" energy, and I genuinely cannot wait to see what she writes next.

This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. I fell in love with Jace and Elaine and I became invested in their story. This story kept me trying to guess what would happen Jace was loyal and true to himself while his character developed throughout the story Elaine was trying to move on and find herself. These two had a connection that no one could tear apart. They had chemistry with lots of Spice. This is a cannot miss book
