The Drum
I hear the noise one Friday evening. That night there is a big storm. The rain is tapping on my window, trying to get inside. But this noise is bigger than the storm. And it's bigger than the music I'm listening to in my room.
'Thud. Bang. Crash!!!'
I look around to see where the noise is coming from. It's outside! It's in the garden. What is it? I have to go out to see for myself. I have to know. I walk out under the midnight sky into the garden because I have to know what it is. I use my mobile phone as a torch so that I can see better. But when I see it for the first time, I don't know what it is. And I don't know what it can do.
