Hmm, this was quite a different take of the typical office romance because Woo Seunghyun (MC) was an intern and Kim Jongchan (ML) was his manager, but he didn't hold a position of significant power in the company. The romance developed early in the story because both of them genuinely had feelings for each other and because it was established early on that both of them were gay. There wasn't much drama (thank god for that) but they had their share ups and downs, and because both WSH and KJC didn't have much experience in the dating department, they had a few stumbles along the way. But after that, they learned to care for each other and KJC was great at taking care of his boyfriend. KJC's character development was good too, as he realised he could do so much more for the person he loved. This was short and sweet even though the ending felt pretty abrupt, and I really love the art style, it made me love WSH even more because he was so cute.
I protagonisti erano carini, comunque.
I liked this story. It was short, but sweet. No filler, thankfully. I also enjoyed that these characters genuinely liked each other from the start and seemed to have a real relationship. Many of these types of stories involve love/hate and enemies to lovers tropes that involve rape-ish scenes. It was a relief to read a story that didn't involve any of those elements. The only thing I didn't care for was how he continued to call him Mr. Kim doesn't Jong asking him to call him by his name. Many that's just a cultural custom I'm not familiar with, but it seems weird to call someone by their last name when you're in an intimate relationship with that person. I don't get the emphasis on their respective ages. 6 years apart isn't a big deal, and one was in his late twenties (28) while Jong was 34. But I really liked how they talked about their feelings and were open about what they were feeling instead of trying to keep each other at arm's length all the time.
This is a short and sweet typical office romance manhwa with typical characters.
Jongchan (seme) is tall, has dark hair, broad shoulders, strict, workaholic, and very reliable in the workplace. Seunghyun (uke) is cute with his puppy eyes, blonde hair, hardworker, and eager to learn. This is a common combination in manhwas and it can never go wrong.
The conflict is actually interesting. Jongchan is Seunghyun's campus crush's ex. But the execution in this manhwa is kinda bland and a bit too fast. Well, it only has 41 chapters, no season 2.
The context is too bussinessy and I don't understand some parts. However, this is an enjoyable read. The artsyle is cute and the manhwa is full colored til the end.
Honestly, it's so hard for me to find a romance that makes me so giddy to the point where my heart soars. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of cheesy romance stories out there, but sometimes, they don't quite meet my expectations. Which is why finding and reading Zec's 'The New Recruit' had my heart literally about to burst. Even if reading Manhwa isn't your thing, I recommend this story 110% and think you should give it a try.
The art was confusing, everyone looked kinda the same, a lot of unnecessary characters too maybe? The story was cute, maybe a bit too fast-paced, it feels like everything happens in the span of a few weeks. Overall, an "average" story, nothing bad or exceptionally good.
I was really enjoyed this but the ending was SO RUSHED and anticlimactic. I was loving it so much. I hope it has some kind of spin off to close the story better.
