Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.
Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.
This was an interesting tale of ghosts and greed, and a wonderful introduction to Stan. A war injury has left Stan with a unique effect on ghosts, while his childhood has made him a very dangerous person to cross.
This was an awesome ghost story. There are ghosts everywhere. Stan Owens has become a ghost hunter out of no fault of his own. His life has been extremely hard, which has caused his ability to be able to see, hunt, and capture ghosts. And now he is after a really bad man, who is using some bad ghosts as his muscle.
A very unexpected ending which deserves a sequel. Stanley Owen is not your typical hero, he has anger issues and a deeply disturbing past. It will be interesting to see where the story leads as the writers have created avenues for further exploration and development.
This was an awesome book! Absolutely loved Stan Owens! I hope that Scare Street will continue to publish stories that involve him! It would be amazing if he teams up with Shane Ryan.
DEATH'S MARK promises to be only the first of an exciting new Scare Street Trilogy; and already I enjoy it every bit as much as the RAVENOUS SPIRITS Trilogy. These novels are engrossing from page 1, and the Suspense never dissipates [nor does the Terror!] Well-written and compelling; so eager to read Books 2 and 3 in the new BLOOD AND IRON Series.
