Selene and Memnon are of course, eternal. I loved them so so much. Memnon is morally questionable and a complete loose cannon but for Selene he is so openhearted and gentle. He will literally decimate their enemies and rip demons apart and then make Selene some tea and tuck her and Nero into bed. He made them both flower crowns!! I loved how their relationship here grew, even after so many years together. Memnon is willing to put himself wholly into Selene's hands, but is also completely honest with her. And Selene finally lets herself wholly fall for Memnon and be emotional with him. I just loved all of their quiet scenes together, both confessing what's in their hearts.
After reading The Curse That Binds you could see the mistakes they both made in the past that lead to their deaths and here you can see they've both learnt from those and are willing to change course. Memnon isn't going to just continually push and consolidate power without keeping an eye on his enemies- he was betrayed before and lost Selene, and he is sure as hell not going to let that happen again. And Selene here speaks up and helps plan and strategize and doesn't just go along with with things when her gut is telling her not to.
The epilogue was very sweet and honestly I wish it was longer- but I also would just read chapters and chapters of these two living their lives in peace.
Also it was so fun to see Desmond! You definitely don't have to have read The Bargainer to understand his part in this story as everything is explained, but it was great to have him hanging around.

I think LT did a good job weaving all of the plots together and tying them up nice and neat, while also giving us so many great scenes with our two main characters

I have been reading Laura Thalassa for what feels like time immemorial and yet, it never fails to surprise me how she creates the worlds that she has written, envisions the stories that she has shared and evokes from her readers the emotions, that she intends…and Bedeviled was no different for me.
Arriving at the end of a series is a uniquely bittersweet experience. You’re finally seeing, on page, the peace you have envisioned for these characters for so many years and it’s a painful ache in your heart; at the same time you’re seeing them leave and move on to have experiences that you’ll never witness and it’s a hard truth to face. However—as a third side to this imaginary coin—you also know this means the author has made space for something altogether new and exciting that will soon be a part of the stories you love.
I think reading tastes are shaped and refined over time; however the first few books/authors that helped form our tastes and preferences in reading will always be special to us. For me, Thalassa was one of those authors. She helped drag me into the genre of wickedly delightful fantasies and I never left. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, no one does an anti-hero better than Thalassa. If you’re looking for a good time, a great read with humour, wickedness and of course romance, Thalassa is the way to go.
Circling back to the review portion of this post: I’ve always wondered when I read a series wherein there are connections across books, if the author had planned it all along, or wrote it into the story as they went. Either way, they depict a level of skill and honed technique, in both, the writing and the ability to plan and execute flawlessly. I think every single work of Thalassa’s establishes her prowess and speaks for itself; and this series is no different. I will say the author never shies away from heavy themes (so please check trigger warnings) and always leans into how much they can impact the lives of the MCs and actively tear into the hearts of her readers. But if there’s one thing I would never worry about, it’s that Thalassa will always do right by us in the end. It doesn’t matter how many times she breaks our hearts, she’ll always mend it well before she leaves. Then, of course, she’ll write a new series and do it all again; but by that point you’ve actively signed up for the pain and won’t even mind the devastation.
There was something about this series that reached out and touched my soul. Though it may not immediately seem like it, in my opinion, this was a story about vulnerability and trust in many, many ways. The narrative shapes these two themes in alternating braids through its storytelling and the tale builds from shattered ashes and pain into something beautiful and lasting. Though, in all honesty, I feel there are interconnected worlds she’s building that we are yet to fully see. Ask me in a decade, so I can say “I was right!” That and “I told you so,” of course.
The plot in this series is so interesting because each book follows an important plot point that feel unique and whole in itself. However, they also serve a larger plot purpose and link all the four books together. This last book serves as the final piece that snaps the whole puzzle into place and you make connections across all books and realize the horror and abject injustice that is wrecked over the course of this series by the hands of the greedy. In all honesty, how’s this different from today’s society? One person’s greed and corruption has far reaching consequences; as it trickles down to the very roots of the people’s lives, affecting and infecting them with the poison of that one person’s inability to be a decent human being. You can feel all the fury, feminine rage, betrayal and the desperate war for peace coating every line of this series—and this builds until the final chapter.
There are little secrets and big secrets but you can never tell which hurt more when they are revealed.
Honestly, by book three the world has been established, built and reinforced. That doesn’t stop Thalassa from adding some layers of complexity and depth to her world anyway. She draws some interesting elements from her others series and drags and drops it into this one at the perfect moment. The reveal was gorgeous, as always. I’m truly curious to see what else Thalassa is going to create and if there will be more parallels drawn across her different series. As always, I can’t wait.
The pace of any Thalassa book is always stuffmyface speed. It’s a new word I’ve coined to describe how swiftly and easily I consume a book. There’s always something addictive and satisfying in reading anything written by Thalassa and safe to say that this series was no different. In fact her work is so special to my heart that my favourite book in this series is actually the little novella that slots between books: The Curse that Binds. It was ingenious, beautiful, just perfect. It was every single emotion you’d see in this series—over the course of three books—packed into one tight, neatly written book. But please read the series in the order mentioned in the author’s website to be able to truly enjoy it as intended.

July 27, 2025I'm so excited for this, ya'll!!! The Bewitched series is the first series I willingly started knowing it wasn't complete. I'm obsessed and unwell in the best way possible. I'm constantly looking for other reads that give me the same vibes this series does. Memnon is, without a doubt, my fav MMC right now- I love a man OBSESSED! It's somewhat painful having to wait for the final book, but it's also exciting to be a part of Laura Thalassa's eager fan groups; I've added myself to every Facebook page and social media group chat in existence while patiently waiting for book 3! I dream about this series for crying out loud!

Saying goodbye to Selene and Memnon was bittersweet. After everything these two have endured across this series, I loved finally watching them stop fighting fate and each other and truly find their home within the bond they share. Seeing Memnon fully accept Selene for who she is, rather than constantly comparing her to the Roxilana he lost, was easily my favorite part of the book. It felt like the emotional payoff I’d been waiting for.
And the The Bargainer crossover? I was kicking my feet. I love when authors connect their worlds like that. Although I can’t pretend the “Alright, Daddy” line didn’t make me physically recoil just a little.
This wasn’t a perfect finale for me. The pacing dragged in a few places, and I wanted a little more tension leading into the final confrontation. But the emotional moments between Selene and Memnon more than made up for it, and I closed the book feeling satisfied with where they ended up.
This series has given us ancient magic, soulmates, witches, morally gray characters, and one of my favorite possessive sorcerer kings. It was a heartfelt ending that gave these characters the peace they had fought thousands of years to earn.

No se por donde empezar, ME ENCANTÓ TODO, 🤎desde el libro 1 hasta este ultimo libro, es una historia tan atrapante, adictiva, romantica muy romantica, entretenida, tragica pero también muy hot (hay de todo un poco)😏🤎
Primero que nada, amo la pluma de Laura, sus libros son muy enganchante y rapidos de leer, por eso es de mis autoras favoritas, todo lo que ella escriba, TENGO QUE LEERLO! (Estoy desesperada por saber cuál es su siguiente historia) 😩
Este libro no fue suficiente, NECESITO MÁS, 😭voy a extrañar mucho a Selene, Memnon y Neron (también a otros personajes 👀), Laura quiero un extra por favor, o tal vez vuelvas a este mundo en el futuro? Por que hay mucho potencial…👀😏
El cameo de Desmond (no es spoiler) omg jaja él y Memnon son tan estupidos,🤣 sus interacciones son lo mejor, los amo.

This ending was perfect, I loved everything about it; it has everything I enjoy.🤎 I want to say so much more, but I can't because it would mean spoilers AAAAAHHHH so I'll just say that I really enjoyed reading this book and I'm sad it's over. If you haven't read this trilogy yet, DO IT!😠
P.S. I appreciate that there’s an epilogue; I love epilogues (not many authors include them haha😆)

This ending was perfect, I loved everything about it; it has everything I enjoy.🤎 I want to say so much more, but I can't because it would mean spoilers AAAAAHHHH so I'll just say that I really enjoyed reading this book and I'm sad it's over. If you haven't read this trilogy yet, DO IT!😠
P.S. I appreciate that there’s an epilogue; I love epilogues (not many authors include them haha😆)

Another banger by Laura Thalassa !
I always love how she concludes her series. She knows to wrap up plot points, deliver plenty of action and still give us room to breathe and marvel at the love between the characters. This book had it all. Reading Bedeviled after the heartbreak that was The Curse That Binds really gave another dimension to the series and made it more epic. I also loved to see This Guy, great cameo !!!

✨ARC Review✨
This series overall is fine. I really enjoyed a lot of parts. I thought it was very funny and also could be very sweet even though it is very lust forward. I thought Memnon's love and devotion with wanting to have intimacy in a connection way more than just physical was great. There were cringey moments and inner thoughts, but I enjoyed it enough to continue it.
I like the series. It's as simple as that. I will say, this final book felt a little convinent. Things happened convinently and I didn't feel there was any real stakes or any moments where I was concerned it wasn't all going to work out. And I think that is just what the series is. I don't think it was supposed to be this crazy dramatic series and that's fine.
I LOVED the crossover so much. And it made me realize that I love the Bargainer series more, I do feel it is a stronger series, BUT again... I enjoyed this book and I enjoyed the cute simple moments we had, and I enjoyed the banter. It was just an easy to read, chill book! Sometimes with a series, we don't get to enjoy the simple moments or get to live in them, they are glossed over, but with this book we get to live in the bliss for a time and we get to see moments that we normally don't. Time was spent on those moments where the characters are connecting and I did enjoy that.
Overall, it was decent, I enjoyed my time.

Overall, this book took me on a wild ride. It picked up immediately where book two left off, and I really appreciated how seamlessly everything tied back to the previous books. The pacing ebbed and flowed naturally, slowing down to deepen the characters and their relationships before ramping back up for the action. There was a great balance of plot, romance, character growth, and high-stakes moments. Best of all, we finally started getting the answers we'd been waiting for throughout the entire series. We also got a beautiful HEA, with the ending providing everything these two MC's had been fighting for since the prequel.
One of my favorite parts of this book was the continued development of the main characters' relationship. It's honestly impressive that by book three (or technically the fourth book in this world), Laura still found meaningful ways to strengthen their relationship without it feeling dragged out or frustrating. That speaks to how intentionally this series was written, it was never about instant love. Yes, the MMC was immediately in love with the MFC in book one, but the rationale was very well explained and the MFC did not feel the same way back. With everything that happened in books one and two meant this book still needed to focus on solidifying their forever bond. It's rare to be this deep into a series and still be genuinely excited watching a relationship that began in book one continue to evolve.
The MMC absolutely shined in this installment. His growth was one of my favorite parts of the book. Watching him truly give the MFC what she wanted, including choice, autonomy, and unwavering support, was incredibly satisfying after everything he did to her in book one. I also loved that the author didn't simply tell us their relationship had grown. We were shown countless small, intimate moments that made their connection feel authentic and earned. I will always think of this book and the MMC's words, "my queen."
The MFC experienced significant growth as well. Throughout the series, she'd kept people at arm's length, avoiding true intimacy for a variety of understandable reasons. In this book, the MMC continually challenged her to be vulnerable, to let people in, and to build deeper relationships, not only with him, but also with her parents. Her emotional journey felt just as important as the MMC's.
The MMC was also an absolute force. Watching this all-powerful sorcerer hunt down the truly evil people who had forced magical bonds onto others was incredibly satisfying. Seeing justice served and innocent people finally freed from trafficking made for some of the most rewarding moments in the book. I also loved that this book was not just about the MMC always saving her and others. She often saved him and others as well, YAY! I loved the balance of different strengths between these two and their mutual efforts and strength.
Another highlight was the humor sprinkled throughout the story. There were several moments that genuinely made me giggle, and I wasn't expecting that. The humor was woven in naturally and helped balance some of the heavier moments.
Kane continued to be annoying. Just move on buddy and leave the MFC alone. Even the epilogue showed us what a man baby he was. Eislyn was also annoying and a great antagonist. I loved to hate her and wanted justice (which we got)!
I also loved the crossover with the Bargainer series. It was such a fun surprise! And this wasn't just a quick cameo, the Bargainer played a significant role in the story, which made the crossover even more exciting.
One reveal that completely caught me off guard was the connection between the MFC losing her memories when using magic and the MMC losing his consciousness when using his magic. I never saw that connection coming, but it made complete sense. This surprise was fantastic and the solution was simple since all that hard work had been implemented with the MFC's curse.
I had a great time with this series. It was fun, engaging, and highly enjoyable from beginning to end. My favorite installment was actually the prequel, which completely captured my attention and set the stage for everything. The MC's original love story was my favorite. The prequel made me rethink books one and two, since I read the prequel third (the order in which these books were published).
**Critiques**
My biggest critique with this book was how repetitive one particular storyline became. I could not believe how many times the MFC blacked out, only for the chapter to end. I searched my Kindle, and the phrase "goes dark" appeared at least five times in this book alone, and there were other times where she passed out and the words "goes dark" were not used. On top of that, the MMC repeatedly had to rush in and save her.
This exact sequence had already happened multiple times in the previous books, and then it happened at least five more times here: the MFC is attacked, the MMC telecommunicates that he's coming for her, she blacks out, and the chapter ends. By the fifth time, it no longer built suspense... it felt predictable. I kept waiting for the author to find a more creative way to create tension, but the same formula was used over and over again.
I also struggled with some of the dialogue and narration throughout the series. The language often felt overly juvenile, and I found myself noticing that it read like someone trying to write a twenty-something rather than sounding like an authentic young adult. Instead of feeling natural, some of the phrasing came across as immature, which occasionally pulled me out of the story. Now, this has been present the whole series, but it felt especially strong in this book.

Le dernier tome qui conclue cette trilogie en beauté !
J’ai TELLEMENT hurlé de joie quand j’ai reçu ce ARC de l’auteure >< Attendre jusqu’à fin août devait de plus en plus dur avec tous les teasers que l’auteure avait mis en ligne donc je me suis empressée de dévorer ce livre comme si dormir ne signifiait rien … Et maintenant je regrette parce que je l’ai terminé trop vite ><
C’est difficile de faire cette chronique sans trop spoiler MAIS j’ai particulièrement aimé :
- l’univers ! J’ai particulièrement aimé dans ce tome tout le folklore autour des divinités souterraines qui m’a bien intriguée mais aussi tout le côté sororité des sorcières ! J’ai absolument adoré ces scènes d’entraide à Henbane Coven et ça m’a donné envie d’aller vivre là-bas =)
- l’intrigue ! On a enfin toutes les réponses à nos questions et j’ai adoré le rollercoaster de tensions et de révélations qu’on a tout au long du livre !
- les personnages ! Je ne sais pas exactement pourquoi mais je les ai trouvé plus « humains » dans ce tome ! Certes, Memnon est toujours un sorcier maléfique mais c’est aussi quelqu’un avec un long passé douloureux et j’ai bien aimé aussi voir Selene prendre de l’assurance et s’imposer en tant que Selene et pas étouffer par les souvenirs de Roxi !
Mention spéciale pour un certain Bargainer … =D
- la romance était bien plus intéressante dans ce tome parce que, contrairement aux deux autres tomes avec les trop nombreuses pertes de mémoire et autre, ici les personnages ont le temps de développer leur romance qui devient plus « réelle » =) Bien sûr, il y a toujours des scènes très sexy mais il y a aussi des scènes plus romantiques et mignonnes ce que j’ai particulièrement apprécié (mention spéciale pour la scène des « parents » xD)
Mention spéciale pour les déclarations d’amour de Memnon : il peut tuer qui il veut s’il me parle comme ça xD
- ceeeette fiiiiiiin <3 Je dirais rien de plus =D (enfin si, je veux absolument un tome avec la deuxième génération =D)

I squealed with SO much joy when I received this ARC from the author ! >< Waiting until the end of August was getting harder and harder with all the teasers the author had posted online, so I devoured this book as if sleep didn't matter ... And now I regret it because I finished it too quickly ><
It’s hard to write this review without giving too many spoilers BUT I particularly loved :
- the universe In this volume, I especially loved the folklore surrounding the underworld deities—which really intrigued me—as well as the sisterhood among the witches ! I absolutely adored the scenes of mutual support at Henbane Coven; it made me want to go live there myself =)
- the plot ! We finally get all the answers to our questions, and I loved the rollercoaster of tension and revelations throughout the book !
- the characters ! I’m not exactly sure why, but I found them more "human" in this volume ! Sure, Memnon is still an evil sorcerer, but he’s also someone with a long, painful past. I also really liked seeing Selene gain confidence and assert herself as Selene, rather than being overshadowed by memories of Roxi !
Special mention for a certain Bargainer … =D
- The romance was far more interesting in this volume because—unlike the previous two books, with all the memory loss and such—here the characters actually have time to develop their relationship, making it feel more "real" =) Of course, there are still plenty of steamy scenes, but there are also sweeter, more romantic moments that I really appreciated (special shout-out to the "parents" scene xD).
Special mention for Memnon’s declarations of love : he can kill whoever he wants if he talks to me like that xD
- Thaaat ennnnding <3 I won’t say another word =D (well, actually, I absolutely need a book about the next generation =D)
In short, a romantasy volume packed with high-tension plotting, complex and dark characters, and a sizzling romance ! I recommend the entire series to readers who love their romance mixed with magic, sex, and morally grey heroes <3

**** I received an ARC of Bedeviled in exchange for an honest review. This review is long and contains spoilers ***
Where do I even BEGIN with this review? First off, thank you Laura for the recap at the beginning of the book, that was incredibly helpful.
Bedeviled is easily the best installment in the series. From start to end, this book had me in a chokehold, addicted to every word. There were multiple times in this book that I held my breath in suspense, laughed out loud, blinked away tears in fear of what was going to happen next.
The love between Memnon and Selene in this installment is so satisfying given the reluctance and anger Selene/Roxi had in Bewitched and Bespelled. I adored Memnon’s multiple declarations of love, it really showcased how absolutely enamoured he is with Selene.
Learning about what he was really doing behind Fortuna's Empire was gratifying. When I first read that people were pleading and saying no at their death beds, there was a moment of “Oh, Memnon, no” but as soon as you find out he is ending their lives and then reincarnating them to free the witches of their bonds was so perfectly Memnon for Selene that it clarified that behind that brick wall, Memnon is really a softy.
One of the aspects I did miss the most about the series was the lack of Sybil, Kane, and Sawyer. While it made sense that they were not present due to the Sacred Seven, I wished we saw a bit more interaction, especially between Sybil and Selene. It was heartwarming to see how much Selene cared about Sybil, putting her life on the line to help her best friend during her first transformation - it goes to show that despite everything else in the world, Selene could be there during her best friend’s most vulnerable moment. Then the scene where Sybil consumes poison at the final Henbane Academy dinner froze me in fear. For a brief moment I truly thought her and Sawyer were gone. That whole scene was both traumatic and beautiful at the same time with how Selene managed to get everyone to work together to expel the poison from everyone present.
Eislyn - she is such a great antagonist, I love to hate her. The tension felt between her and Selene was so strong and convincing that you could tell they had thousands of years of build up. When Selene drank the very obvious fae wine (for those who read the bargainer series) and it hindered her bond between her and Memnon, I was heartbroken and BEGGING that they got it back - though Selene, I have to side with Memnon on that one for willingly drinking the enemies wine. At this point, I knew a certain someone had to help them as soon as Eislyn was proving her Fae heritage was too strong for their human magic.
I nearly screamed when she called upon the bargainer! It reawakened my love for Des and seeing the interaction between Memnon and Des was simply amazing, and while I do wish we saw some Callie, Des is definitely enough for this crossover. Seeing his shadows work again and witnessing Memnon basically stepping down to Des in that first interaction was Chef’s Kiss to Laura. I was giddy the entire interaction.
Now onto the Demons, Laura pulled off creepily terrifying perfection. The scene where they fed off the witches in the forest, the scene where one stood in the road and caused Selene to crash, and especially the scene where they surrounded Memnon’s house outside the ward and stared in - absolute chills.
The last 100 or so pages of Bedeviled were a masterpiece, I could go on but I will try to keep it short. When Memnon was taken by Eislyn and could not speak to Selene yet, the suspense was high. Why was he restrained and what did she intend? Once we learned she forced him to drink fae wine (I mean sure, give Selene her bond back thanks for that) but then bonded him to all those demons, I was terrified for Selene’s future and was convinced Memnon would end her. When Selene ended him and his heart almost did not revive, I screamed, begging for it to work so they could be one again.
Then we got to see good ol’ Des again absolutely obliterate the demons in one blow with his shadows - Mwuah - ok time to read the bargainer series again.
Finally, we reach the face off between Selene and Eislyn. Just like the end of The Curse That Binds, it comes down to these two - it was gratifying that Eislyn was wounded in the stomach the same way she had wounded Roxi, and made perfect sense that the Hungering Ones took her from this world.
All in all, this was a perfect cross over and series ender. Readers will not be disappointed.
P.S. Memnon will be an amazing boy dad.

Written in first person POV the story continues the journey of Selene and Memnon now that an unbreakable vow draws them together. Yet what starts as a reunion they never dreamed of quickly becomes something darker when the past comes back to haunt them. With demons, all consuming magic, and an age-old menace wreaking havoc all around, these two must quickly unravel the secrets that have long held them...because what's been waiting for over a millennia to unfold is on the brink, and it will consume them both.
Gah this series is one I easily fell in love with and this book just immortalises this love.
Selene having the knowledge of everything that has unfolded makes her so much more of a kick butt character as we get to see her really dive into her magic. I loved the confidence there! I also found the ease to which she accepts Memnon to ease the story along. She fights him in the right places because she's not trying to get rid of up - just keep her sense of self.
Memnon is feral and in love and that is a combination that is true beauty. He will do the crazy and morally black things to get Selene to admit to her feelings but he also is fully willing to stand by and let her run the show. I loved the confidence he had in their love and how far he is willing to go to protect her.

This couple is in a pre-existing relationship so spice earlier is expected. The spice is feral and passionate and there is a chase sequence that was so much fun. I liked how the spice alternated between romance and desperation because there is this need for the other but also a deep love. The spice is explicit and detailed and you will love it if you have loved the previous books.
The story itself is broken up into two stages I felt - the first is seeing Memon and Selene reconciling their pasts and present selves. I loved the banter that came with this and the play because it showed how much these two are so good for each other even though Memnon is morally black. We also get to explore other characters like Kane and Sybil and I liked how it opened up the story away from Memnon and Selene. The second half of the story heavily pushes the plot along with a focus on the baddie from the past. I enjoyed how much it brought our characters together against a common enemy. We get some great action and so much mortal peril to help raise the tension and show everything at risk. Also, for those who love Easter Eggs and have read another series by Laura that is set in this world you will have a lot of fun! I felt the pacing worked for the story and it all came together quite beautifully. The ending is an HEA that felt good! I was not expecting parts of it because dang did it feel good!
Overall, this series is one I will reread again and again!

FIRST OF ALL I am 1000% absolutely obsessed & in love with this entire series. The Bewitched series by Laura Thalassa has held such a special place in my heart. I will be honest & say this book had me happy tearing up for Selene & Memnon so let this be your warning… tears will be shed but not all sad.
Bedeviled is the final book in the Bewitched series & Laura Thalassa has given us a perfect ending to Selene & Memnon's story. I have loved reading & experiencing these characters' stories but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t sad for it to be completed.
Bedeviled is a dark gothic academia, fast paced, paranormal fantasy romance with witches/sorcerers/werewolves/fae, familiars, otherworlds, mystery, souls mates & of course our DARK & OBSESSED MMC Memnon. WE ALSO HAVE A SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE…
I pluck the card from Memnon’s fingers. A single sentence is printed on it in bronze foil, some of it rubbed partially away.
I frown as I read the words aloud.
“”Bargainer, I’d like to… make a deal?””
Bedeviled begins of course EXACTLY where we left off in Bespelled where Kane is breaking the news to our dear Selene that Memnon has taken over the Fortunas’ empire but all she can focus on is the unbreakable oaths magic urging her to finally wed Memnon.
AND DEAR READERS DID LAURA PROVIDE. We are then taken on a journey of Memnon preparing to marry Selene for their incredibly rushed wedding, but first we follow Selene as she flees from Memnon (as is tradition in Sarmatia for the husband to “hunt” his bride to be.) Selene travels through a ley line that drops her off in Sarmatia more specifically a kurgan where they once lived. Once Memnon successfully hunts his bride-to-be they then travel to Rome to find a wedding dress for Selene & a ring for Memnon before we are back in San Francisco for a private wedding between Memnon, Selene & Nero.
That is as specific I will get for the rest of this review, I don’t want to risk giving away any spoilers…
Of course we then continue with our main characters fighting the bonds that were forced & dont worry we also see more of Memnon & Selene dealing with Eislyn. I WILL SPEAK NO FURTHER THAN THAT because truly you need to experience it yourself. It is incredible. 10/10 no notes.
As always I recommend reading book 0, 1 & 2 (Yes Book 0 as listed on Goodreads) before reading book 3. I didn’t read book 0 until after book 2 but that was because it wasn’t published yet.

Readers definitely do need to read the previous books in the series -- this is the final book. There is a really helpful catch-up chapter right at the beginning for those who have not reread the previous books before opening this one.
And what a way to end the series! This was such a great read -- in the same way her Bargainer series dragged me in and would not let me go, The Bewitched series has been such an absolutely engaging use of time. I don't know what it is about her writing, but Thalassa has the ability to wriggle in like an earworm song -- but like, an eyeworm book? There is something addictive about it. She does a great job maintaining the high energy, high stakes plot-driven story alongside the enduring romance and spicy scenes. Fans of the previous books in the series should feel really satisfied with the ending, especially (!) if they have been fans of Thalassa's other work.
I do think at times the pacing with this one was a bit lopsided, and I wish more of the action at the end had been spread out instead of contained in such a small amount of the book vs some of the earlier scenes that felt less essential to what becomes a very intricate plot and firework finale ending. Memnon and Selene have a lot of big character moments in the last 15%, and I would have loved some of that growth and plotting earlier in the novel to better tease it all out. I think we lose a bit of the overall understanding and utilization of the magic system as well, including any gauge on how powerful Memnon and Selene actually are, which was a bit confusing at times.
And while some memories/reminders of the plot were overly repeated or didn't entirely make sense at the end too, but, again, eyeworm style writing, you just go with it because it's so entertaining. Mostly I was just very happy to be along for the ride and my love for the characters and this world filled in the gaps. Having Memnon and Selene finally be together and care for each other was so satisfying after all the push-and-pull of the previous two books, and their urge to protect each other is such an important piece of this finale.
This series is just a lot of fun - it's funny, it has a great romance, it has a ton of action, it has mystery - I'm sad it's over, but, it seems (maybe) that if Thalassa is going to write another story that Kane may finally be able to find his own mate, which will keep this world of characters growing and evolving, and I'll definitely tune in for another eyeworm book for his story.

Phenomenal series ending
This book. Phew. Strap in for this teeth clenching, edge of your seat, twisty turny epic dark fantasy conclusion. The story beautifully weaves together exhilarating action, palpable tension, plot twists, mystery, suspense, humor, magic, and spicy romance with just the perfect amount of emotions all set against the backdrop of phenomenal world building. This author does a fantastic job creating multi-layered characters and plot lines which completely immerse you in the story. Just like the other books in this series, I was captivated from the first page until the last. This is the conclusion of the spellbinding tale which started in Bewitched and the story picks up exactly where Bespelled left off. The tale is again told from the POV of Selene, who is no longer just a sweet, kind, dedicated and powerful witch. The events in the first two books have restored her memory, given her back her past as Roxilana, and fundamentally changed who she is and what she’s willing to do. Memnon and Selene will need to fulfill the unbreakable marriage pact now that the trafficking ring has been destroyed and she loves him but any wedded bliss is just a blip before bad things start happening again. Now they’ll need to deal with Eislyn, their fae enemy from long ago and try not to repeat the way their story ended the last time. Be warned, this is a dark fantasy so not too many glittery rainbows. There are no black and white lines in this book and no purely good or evil actions or characters. There are shades of gray and hard choices about how to interpret and implement “good” intentions. And oh boy was I feeling all the things - laughing, crying, sighing, gritting my teeth, swooning, biting my nails, and yelling - as Selene struggled with her feelings for Memnon, as the events unfolded and as the danger increased. The book includes everything you would expect from this genre - sweet moments, spice, intrigue, dangerous situations, supernatural creatures, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, secrets, mystical coincidences, snark, laughs, unexpected plot twists, and all the love. Seeing Des in this story from the Bargainer series was just the icing on top of this perfect dark fantasy cake of a series conclusion.
While this book could be read as a standalone, do yourself a favor and read the series in order to get the most out of the complex and rich storyline and the full breadth of Selene’s character arc.

I have a lot of conflicted feelings about this book.
Yes, I liked it.
Yes, it was a satisfying end to the series. Low-ish stakes, but with enough suspense to keep you hooked.
I worried about Nero the entire time—if anything happened to the panther I would have rioted. I cared more about the cat the most of the characters?
Eislyn got what was coming to her. The crossover was well done, even though I read the Bargainer series years and years ago. Did Des really need to come? No, but he also didn’t completely save the day and overshadow the narrative.
The bits of plot with the lycans and even Sybil seemed out of place because the plot had gotten so far away from college and friends. But it was nice that there was resolution to those plots so that the reader wasn’t left wondering.
Now for my criticism—the reason I almost wanted to stop reading the book. I feel like there was major sexual coercion that viscerally bothered me. There are two scenes where Memnon, in my opinion, forces Selene to have unprotected sex to get something she wants. She wants her tattoos from her previous life back. He won’t do it unless she gets rid of her contraceptive charms. I get that he’s written as a “villain” but this isn’t a dark romance. I could expect it from something like that but this gave me major ick. There’s another scene where he does it again and I would have raged if she had gotten pregnant outside of the epilogue.
There’s a place for pregnancy in books, I’m not saying there’s not. Especially for those with fertility issues. I understand that Memnon and Selene would want children after what had happened in their past life. But Selene is in her early twenties, just got into college and just got her memories back. Let a girl live before you impregnate her. Which is what happened, but I obviously didn’t know that early in the book.
Pushing the idea of a 20 year old with career aspirations to get pregnant is a disservice to young women, especially with our current political climate. Trad wife isn’t it.
I was going to rate at a generous 3.5 until the last third of the book. It completely redeemed things for me. It was tension-filled and action packed and engaging with no talk of contraception or coercion.
Despite my criticism, I enjoyed the story and the series as a whole. Thank you to the publisher for the ARC!

Bedeviled is the final book in Fantasy Romance trilogy from one of my favorite authors and I loved Selene and Memnon’s story so much, it’s definitely one of my favorite book series.
Bedeviled is the perfect conclusion to this incredible series that I’ve loved since reading the first page of Bewitched, this whole series was such a wild ride with so many secrets, plot twists, amazing characters and beautiful love story that spanned centuries and I loved every second I spent reading it and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect ending. This book was everything I hoped for and more, we got to see some scenes I’ve been waiting for for a long time and some revelations that answered many questions, the plot was perfectly paced and I read the whole book in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. Selene and Memnon grew so much in the course of their story and I loved them here so much, Selene was even more badass and we got to see more of Memnon’s sweet and vulnerable side, he might be an evil overlord, but he is also so caring and devoted to Selene and becoming even more so with every chapter. Their love story was really complex and spanning centuries, which I came to appreciate even more after reading The Curse That Binds, and it was both beautiful and heartbreaking at times. I was rooting so hard for them to find their happily ever after and get some peace and I’m happy we got to see so many amazing scenes between them in this book, they have both finally given in to their feelings and are incredible as a couple, I adored seeing them declaring their love (they even made me tear up a few times) and just all their scenes together, they are definitely one of my favorite bookish couples and I love them and already miss them, I hope we will get to see them again. And of course I must mention the spicy scenes, they were written perfectly and had me blushing at times.

First and foremost, thank you to Laura Thalassa and her team for providing me with an ARC of Bedeviled in exchange for an honest review. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to get my grubby little hands on this book.
Now… onto my experience. 😂
I have read many books and finished many series, but I honestly don’t think a finale has ever gutted me quite like this one. I didn’t realize how much I had missed Selene, Nero, and especially Memnon until I was back with them again. Without getting into spoilers, I thought this was an incredibly satisfying conclusion to the series, and I couldn’t have asked for a better send-off.
Just like all of Laura Thalassa’s work, the writing flowed beautifully and was incredibly easy to fall back into. I did struggle through the first 30%, but I honestly think that had far more to do with my personal life than the book itself. Toddler potty training is unpredictable at best and messy at worst. 😂 Once I was finally able to sit down and immerse myself in the story, I had a hard time putting it down.
One thing I feel safe talking about, since it’s been present throughout the entire series, is Selene and Memnon’s relationship. I absolutely adore the two of them. I actually feel incredibly lucky because, aside from the obvious fantasy elements, I can relate to the kind of relationship they have. They aren’t perfect. They get on each other’s nerves, they make mistakes, and sometimes they do things the other person doesn’t necessarily love. But that’s what makes them feel so real. Their relationship isn’t perfect because they’re flawless. It’s perfect because they choose each other despite their flaws.
All that and Selene literally says it:
“I think I do like even the scariest parts of you, Memnon.”
I absolutely adored this book, and if I’m being honest, I feel a little empty knowing this series is over. Realistically, the most we’ll probably get now are little mentions of Selene and Memnon in future books, and while that makes me a little sad, I’m excited to see what Laura Thalassa creates next.
Because if her name is on the cover… you can bet your booty I’ll be reading it.

THE CONCLUSION TO THIS LOVE STORY WAS EPIC.
Like, seriously. I am absolutely obsessed with Selene and Memnon’s story. It’s so magical and beautiful and there’s just something about this whole “second chance” that is incredibly powerful. “We did it once and failed, so we must try again and succeed” kinda story. It was absolutely beautiful.
I laughed and cried. The parental relationship between Memnon and Selene’s parents was unexpected but incredibly delightful. Honestly, it seems as if no stone was left unturned in this finale. I truly ate it up in less than 24 hours.
I feel like it’s so hard to do a series finale well, but this was done so well. The “finale” (so-to-speak), was fast-paced, intense, plot-twisty, and high-stakes. (Wow, I need to stop using hyphenated words lol.) A real page-turner, for sure. (Ok I’m done now I promise!)
I am obsessed with Selene and Memnon’s love / bond / connection / banter / fucking alllll of it. He’s so smitten by her and vise versa. It’s so lovely seeing love written as being so powerful and consuming. I loved every minute of it.
TLDR; I LOVED THIS BOOK. Seriously so bingable—I feel the same way about The Bargainer series as well.

The way I scrumpt at the crossover!!!! The ********* showing up made me lose my damn mind! I loved loved loved getting to see that particular character again and even more-so, seeing that fae wine being put to good use for the sake of true love, once again. Seriously giggled when he popped up.
Also, I kinda suspect we’ll get some sort of story about Kane next, given his less-than-satisfying ending. (Since he obviously didn’t get the girl, because the girl was fated mates with a morally grey sorcerer, sorry bud.)

I am so sad to see these characters go. I have definitely loved Selene and Memnon. Their story has definitely been one for the ages. Getting to read their beginning in The Curse That Binds and then moving into this one made me love them that much more. Desmond making his appearance in this book was amazing as well. I love a good series cross over! This book was a good wrap up for everyone involved. From Memnon getting everything he needed and wanted was beautiful. Even though he isn't out here ravaging battlefields anymore he is still getting to use his skills elsewhere. Selene coming to terms with everything was great too. Not to mention getting to do everything she wanted in this life even after learning about herself as Roxilana. In this one we definitely see Selene show that she is also a force to be reckoned with. Both her and Memnon are well matched and it is displayed very well with this conclusion. It was such a good wrap up that I can say that I was satisfied with everything. I would love to learn more about Sibil and how things are going to turn out for Kane and him moving on and hopefully finding his real mate. Other than that everything else was great. I loved the history that was thrown in, the language that I almost felt like I learned through Memnon and Roxilana. I don't think there has been a series by this author that I have not loved.
The spice in this book was amazing. Memnon and Selene have such real chemistry in both of their lives that getting the spice made everything that much better. 4 out of 5 for the spice. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I'm going to miss this world and these characters. It was done so well that I will definitely always recommend this series to anyone who likes their men savage and their women to be right there with them. This is a great fantasy read with a nice little overlap with the Bargainer series that I think fans will love!

I want to start off by saying this was truly an honor to read, and to be selected by Laura and her team to review prior to the release. I’m a long-time supporter of her writing, and these characters have each healed a small part of me over the years. Selene, in particular, I have always admired.
As far as series endings go, I was prepared to feel empty when it was done. Honestly, the sheer magnitude of love and happiness this wrapped up with made my heart feel incredibly full, and I am so happy with how each and every character in this story had their own endings. I found myself with a wine glass in hand and tears in my eyes the last 20% of the book! Get your tissues ready.
In the other books, I felt like I didn’t get to connect with some of the other witches, Nero was in and out a lot, and Memnon was mostly from just Selene’s perspective… but that definitely was not the case in this. Tons of action-packed girl power, kitty snuggles (and flights? 😂) and Memnon being an unrealistic new standard for men. Each moment Memnon and Selene were together made my pulse pound, the romance was incredible. I love my husband, but DAMN! 🥵
Another thing that truly makes this book stand out is how much work and research must have gone into the culture and lifestyle of ancient civilizations. It felt modern, but after reading The Curse that Binds, you felt half in the past and half in the present. I thought that dynamic really made for unique character development for Selene.

What a beautiful, fun ending to one of my favorite series.
These books are such a vibe, and this final book is a beautiful love letter between soulmates. It's an ode to 2000 years of devotion these two have for each other. So much is happening.. Demons closing in, Memnons magic consuming him, the coven giving their all to survive, and an old annoying enemy that won't stay down.. But we never lose sight of Selene and Memnons love for one another.
Memnon will forever be one of my favorite MMCs. He's the greenest red flag and the standard for obsessive, down baaaad, "will burn the world for her", hopelessly devoted males out there.
AND the way Memnon was so easily able to express himself... His feelings, his emotions... I almost highlighted this entire book. Some of the most gorgeous, affirming moments I've ever read were written in these pages. I adore how he hyped up his queen. His adoration is unmatched "I love every version of you." 😭
Selene is also so so likeable, and I think that's another reason this is one of my favorite series. I so rarely connect with FMC's, but I adore Selene. In this book especially, she starts to fully accept and articulate her feelings back for Memnon, and we get to see their relationship finally settle into a true partnership after everything they've endured.. it was so beautiful 🥹
I slowly read and reread passages over the last three days because I didn't want my time with these characters to be over.
I hope, if you haven't already, you pick up this series at some point. It's one of my all time favorites and now that it's complete on Aug 18th there's no waiting to see how this incredible love story ends.
