Annie Oakley was a remarkable sharpshooter whose legendary accuracy with firearms captivated audiences across the world. She could place bullets precisely where she intended from distances that left spectators breathless with amazement. But as impressive as this was, there was more to Annie Oakley's life than her ability with a gun.

With grit and determination, she rose from the abject poverty of her youth to travel the world as the star of Wild West shows that brought the drama of the American frontier to audiences far and wide. She met queens and kings and made headline news on a regular basis. She also made a lot of money, much of which she later gave away. With her devoted husband and manager, Frank Butler, at her side, Annie Oakley was ready to conquer the world, or at the very least, the next shooting contest. Yes, Annie Oakley was always up for a challenge. This is her life, this is her story.

A TRUE AMERICAN HERO OF THE OLD WEST

The story of Annie Oakley is more than a story of a female sharpshooter at the end of the 1800's. It's the story of a young girl, a young lady with a great set of morals, loyalty to family and friends, the drive to rise out of poverty, loss, and abuse, to become one of the greatest sharpshooters of all time. Sad to say, I really didn't know much about Annie Oakley before reading this short book other than the little I knew or thought I knew from TV and movies. This is definitely a book for all ages.

One of the better volumes in this series.
Oakley's nickname "Little Sure-shot" is mentioned several times but not the fact that Sitting Bull is the one who gave her that name and was a close friend.

on the road again, making music with her friends

Semi-interesting tail. Without inside personal details it is difficult for me to find entertaining someone shooting clay pigeons or glass balls.

Little Sure Shot

In this book is a story of a young woman, who wasn't afraid to show men how it was done. The it was sharpshooting. Although her life revolved around shooting she was a favorite of both men and women. In a fast paced telling you discover just how Annie Oakley became the darling of the late nineteenth century.
