They made him an offer he couldn't refuse - join the mob or watch his favorite human die.
Now T.E.D.D., the foul-mouthed trash droid who's done taking humanity's crap, is stuck juggling mobsters, mutant tech, his own glitchy anomaly, and a pack of robowolves. Blades and bullets won't be enough. Because the deadliest part of the job isn't the weapons — it's his dumb ass co-workers who make Great Grandpa GPT look like a genius.
Perfect for fans of Martha Wells, Asimov, John Scalzi, Andy Weir, and Adrian Tchaikovsky.

Just like the first book, this is inexplicably written in the first person present tense. It doesn't make any more sense now than it did then. Our main protagonist is just as unlikable as before. The secondary protagonists are also not particularly likable. There's also, again, an almost complete lack of world building. But unlike the first book, this one is pretty boring. The story simply moves from one action sequence to another with little purpose or reason to be inerested.
The manager's not exactly a good guy, so I can't quite root for him, but I also can't really root for TEDD. Sarah treats TEDD like crap, and Kyle is generic. The only likeable character is the garbage truck. It's unfortunate that I bought book 2 and 3 together.
In this one Tedd is still running away from The Manager and is being blackmailed by mafia boss Percival. He reconnects with his human friend Sarah and meets Kyle, another human friend. Note that Tedd calls all humans meatbags. Together the 3 of them are trying to find out what happened to the Missing. The plot is more intense in this one but Tedd is still his funny and irreverent self. He is a little more aware that while his parts are interchangeable, Sarah’s and Kyle’s are not so he’s a little more caring and protective of those two meatbags.
Loved the humor and adventures these 3 get to in this one. Looking forward to book 3.
Yeah I'm back. Bet you didn't expect to see me for awhile, huh? But you know how it is I needed a book to tide me over before the next book I wanna read comes out. And just so yah know, I'm curious to see if the storyline improves. I'm actually flabbergasted the story doesn't only improve it's fantastic! I liked the fact that Tedd managed to team up with a couple of humans and Autotruck. But as a side-note I truly dislike bad guys that keep on truckin. And like I said the novella great!
Like book #1, this one is a fast read. T.E.D.D. is still an anomaly with a very sarcastic personality. Sure, at times it can get a bit tiresome - it seems like the more trouble he is in, the more the jokes flow.
There is an overarching storyline - but I wish the world building was fleshed out a bit more. I'll probably continue with the series, it's a good filler between the other books in my TBR pile.
The Murder Bot series steals the fresh feeling from this series. Trash Bot is more human than I feel its should be. The writing is solid and the action is well placed and the ever changing arm gag is fun to follow, I'm still reading the series so Cheney is doing good work.
A good entry #2 in the series. It's more of what you loved from the first one. Fun, snark and a solid adventure.
Yes, these are more like chapters of a much larger book, but somehow that feels okay. You can fit reading these into times when you simply can't, or don't want to, settle in for a marathon.
High speed action, off color humor, and an intriguing conspiracy, it will be interesting to finally find out what goes on during TEDDs "blackouts". Good stuff, looking forward to book 3. Check it out.
So far, I read book 1 to book 4, it was a pleasant read. Action-packed, funny, some gruesome deaths. The main character is annoyingly attaching, immature, full of resources, the kind you want to pat on the shoulder and slap in the face!
More silliness but still a fun read... It had me chuckling... That's a whole lot better than cringing from a book full of blood and guts, death and destruction.
These are so bad that they're good? Idk but I'm having a good time. I do keep thinking that I won't read the next one but I keep getting sucked back in. Its definitely a guilty pleasure read.
Love how quickly it got back into the action in the second book. The pacing kept me on the edge of my seat and it was full of drama the entire time. It’s only just getting started and it’s already juicy. I am loving getting to know the characters and I must say, autotruck is one of my favourite characters ever!
The book is short and sweet but full to the brim with witty humour and tense action you just can’t stop reading! Finishing up on a cliffhanger that made me desperate to find out what’s happening in the next one.
