He’s fought for redemption. Now he has everything to lose.
Leonardo Baldi has worked hard to repair the damage of his past. The woman he adores is finally willing to let him back in—not just with her heart, but with the son he once denied. For Leonardo, it’s the second chance he’s longed for, and he’ll do whatever it takes to prove he can be the man Jasmine and their child deserve.
Jasmine Journee is taking a risk, letting Leonardo into their lives after years of pain and broken trust. His promises sound good—his touch even better—but words aren’t enough. He’ll have to show her, day after day, that this time he’s here to stay.
But the past isn’t finished with them. Old sins rise up, threatening the fragile happiness they’ve begun to build. Secrets refuse to stay buried. Lies unravel. And when obstacles turn into impossible choices, someone will pay the price.
Can love survive when the ghosts of the past are determined to tear them apart? Or will Leonardo and Jasmine’s second chance be stolen before it ever truly begins?
This is Part 2 of Leonardo and Jasmine’s story. It is not a standalone and should be read after Part 1 for the full experience. For the best reading experience, it is highly recommended that you read Left before diving into Right Part 1.
Niccoyan Zheng is a Canadian wife, mother, and foodie. The written word has always held her captive. Even before her debut novel “Consumed,” her characters have been urging her to write their stories for years. She looks forward to sharing their diversity, complexity and flaws.
We have arrived at Part II of the book, and the story immediately picks up where we last found our main couple. As Leonardo and Jasmine continued to build their relationship while continuing to serve as co-parents to Tommaso “Tommy”. However, several people and events are working hard to make sure our main couple successfully achieve their HEA. I won’t reveal any major spoilers or twists, but I will say I was invested in seeing the progress Leonardo and Jasmine have made in their story so far. Of course, the story wouldn’t be complete without several characters, including Leo’s twin brother Emmanuel “Manny”, Ivy, and the rest of the Scott clan. As the story continued to unfold, I developed theories about a few things, and it tugged at my emotions, especially during certain emotional and shocking moments. The author ensured the inclusion of humor, steamy romance, and heartwarming moments alongside the intense dramatic ones. I love to see the growth and remorse that Leonardo showed while being with Jasmine. Readers were able to see the actual change in him overall, alongside Jasmine as well.
Right part 2 Jasmine and Leonardo story continues. I really loved how Leonardo really stepped up and really was a part of his son’s life and I loved how Tommy just took to his dad and kicked that door completely open. I loved that Jasmine allowed the father and son bond but Leonardo still made sure he was respecting Jasmine boundaries. Ms. Zheng knows how to write forgiving love and make it new. Jasmine could have easily cut Leonardo out of their lives but her heart wouldn’t let her. Leonardo knows his mistakes and wants to avoid them and wants to be a better man. We were given someone to invest in this 2nd half and hopefully there are more stories to come and we get more HEA.
Right: Two is the third book in Niccoyan Zheng’s series, Family Secrets and Lies. If her devoted readers thought they were going to coast to the finish line, well I can only say “Surprise, Surprise”. Leonardo Baldi has made significant strides in forging positive relations with the important people in his life. He and Emmanuel can be in the same space without coming to blows; in fact, they are on their road to a brotherly connection. The love of his life, Jasmine, is looking upon his pursuit favorably, and maybe, just maybe he will meet and connect with his son, sooner rather than later! Life is truly grand. However, sweet and forgiving Jasmine is almost chagrined that she is slowly allowing Leonardo back into her life after the hurt and the mayhem from before. Nevertheless, she can’t refute that he is her heart and how can she deny her son his father when Leonardo is doing and saying all the RIGHT things? This third book contains a great deal of character development and relationship building; Jasmine and Emmanuel are supportive as Leonardo does the hard work of addressing the broken boy inside of the man he is becoming. Unfortunately, the villains of the present nor the shadows of the past do not allow for mental health days and Leonardo and his extended family weather not one but two unexpected and life altering twists (one occurring at the midpoint of the story, while Ms. Zheng saves the most shocking reveal for last)! It almost appears that Jasmine and Leonardo have more stories to tell, at the very least, we hope to encounter them again as secondary characters in OTHER people’s stories. I am fully persuaded that Jelissa and Kyree, Asher, and Darsh are poised and ready to entertain us. Make it so, Ms. Zheng, pretty please 😊. https://theretiredreader.com/f/right-...
I really enjoyed this series. I knew Jasmine was gone when she said she pretty much forgot about her eReader. I was like “girl, not him making you forget the kindle!” 😆 I personally feel like there wasn’t that much groveling done to win Jasmine back but I love how Leo stepped up to be a father. He also went to therapy and was willing to do whatever it took to prove himself worthy. Tommy is super adorable and I love how confident their baby girl was at the dance recital. I’m curious about Jelissa and her Japanese man. I’m hoping they get a story.
This book was a whirlwind from start to finish. Boy oh boy—what a ride. The twists, the turns, the revelations? I was entertained the entire time.
My heart actually softened toward Leo in this one. He really redeemed himself with the lengths he went for his woman—he showed up, showed out, and proved exactly where his loyalty stands.
And that dark new character? PLUS the secrets that came spilling into the light? Yeah… I was gasping.
A messy, dramatic, addictive read that kept me glued to the pages.
What a way to end the series! Leonardo meeting his son was too perfect. The plot twist was bittersweet, but understandable. The growth between Emmanuel and Leonardo was beautiful to read. This book is so well written; it draws you in from the beginning and doesn't let you go until the end. Kudos to Ms. Zheng for bringing to life such wonderful characters and fantastic storylines.
Jasmine and Leonardo are back to rattle the cages of the heart. From sensory overload to soulful contemplation, Zheng plows through the boundaries of emotion to get to the roadblocks to happily ever after. The culmination of a love worth fighting for.
It was great to see Leonardo and Jasmine move forward to their HEA. This book is emotional, happy and sad at times. Wrongs always need to be righted. And Leonardo has tried hard for everyone's sake. It was a great read and fantastic story telling.
