We men are so predictable. As a way of avoiding even the most remote possibility of authentic relationships, most of us are quick to form a complex web of surface-level friendships, an ever-expanding collection of “buddies.” Yet we never manage to develop even one really close friendship. The Man Code is a powerful tool to help men reorganize their thoughts and revolutionize their lives by learning to form meaningful relationships, starting with God and branching out from there. The code is 1, 3, 12, 120, 3000, and by mastering the relationships these five numbers represent, men will establish the right priorities, make the right plans, diagnose unforeseen difficulties, make mid-course corrections and achieve the positive results that they desire and God intends.
Its a book for man to live life to full capacity. As the author said, The ManCode is deceptively simple, but can be a powerful tool... to reorganize our thoughts and revolutionize our life.’ The book has clearly outlined the tool, it’s the discipline to fulfill it.
The content is very practical and easy to get your mind around. ‘The ManCode’ encourages men to grow in five key areas of relationships, and gives us a “code” that helps us remember these areas.
‘The ManCode’ is this simple series of five numbers: 1 3 12 120 3000
Each code relates to your relationship with the following: 1 God 3 Advisors 12 Friends 120 Church 3000 Community
The premise of the book is that in order to find balance in life, men need each of these areas of relationship.
Besides the practical content, I REALLY liked that this book because it is very quick read! I read it in ONE sitting, in less than 3 hours—a FIRST for me, and an anomaly in my literarily challenged lifetime.
This book is a great book for personal study and would also be a good book to read with a small group of guys—your 3 or 12 (that’ll make sense once you read the book!).
I am part of a Friday Morning Dads Fellowship, and we read this book and discussed it as a group. I found the book to be quite thought provoking. Did I have the right code? Something that you will have to determine for youself when you read it.
It teaches me how to value relationships with family, friends, acquintances, church and God. The stories are really inspiring and can make you think and ponder for a while. The qoutations in the book are also positive. I think its not only for man but also for us women.
