Woken by betrayal, fueled by revenge, and driven by the need to protect.
After a brutal betrayal leaves her and her unborn pup dead, Amy, an Alpha female, is given a second chance at life by a Goddess.
Waking up on her eighteenth birthday, six years in the past, she must navigate a web of lies, master newfound powers, and fight to change her fate. She's determined to get revenge on those who wronged her, but old enemies and new threats lurk around every corner.
Can she survive this new life, and deal with the shifting sands of fate? Or is she stuck repeating the same cycle over, leaving her bleeding out on the table while her mate demands her pups' life?
The author desperately needs a content editor. The story has so many ideas in it, many with potential, but putting all of them together in one story, particularly this last book, just didn’t work. In particular, this last book was just a jumbled mess of ideas all thrown together, and it completely just went off the rails.
I think this author has a ton of potential. And some really great ideas that could’ve been broken up into several different books or different series, trying to put them all together in the same world and the same set of books just didn’t work.
They need a content and a copy editor badly. I think the problem is, they tried to accomplish way too much in one series
The Shifted Fate series by Alicia S. Rivers turned out to be an unexpectedly gripping experience for me, especially since this isn’t a genre I normally reach for. Books one through three pulled me in quickly. While the early installments could use a bit more content editing, the storytelling itself is strong enough that I stayed fully engaged throughout. The series tackles intense themes of physical and psychological abuse, including sexual violence, and approaches them with a seriousness that underscores the stakes of the world Rivers has built. At its heart, this is a story about second chances, survival, and reclaiming a life stolen through betrayal.
Amy, the protagonist, is a compelling blend of witch, lychen, and werewolf, an Alpha female whose resilience drives the entire narrative. After a brutal betrayal that ends both her life and the life of her unborn pup, she is granted a rare second chance—waking up on her eighteenth birthday, six years in the past. From there, she must navigate a dangerous web of lies, master new powers, and confront enemies old and new. Her motivations—revenge, protection, and survival—are emotionally resonant and keep the tension high.
I was especially excited to dive into book four, eager to see how the author would bring Amy’s journey to a close. Unfortunately, the final four to five chapters took an unexpected turn. It felt as though the momentum shifted abruptly, almost as if the author lost interest or handed the ending to a ghostwriter. The sudden introduction of Greek mythology elements felt unnecessary and disconnected from the tone and structure of the earlier books, weakening what had been a strong and cohesive narrative.
Despite this disappointing shift at the end, the series overall delivers emotional depth, high stakes, and a heroine who refuses to break. For readers who enjoy dark fantasy with supernatural elements and intense character-driven storytelling, Shifted Fate is still worth exploring.
If being entirely honest, I got tired of this series a while ago, but just needed to see how it would wrap up. It did wrap up, thankfully. Although, it was not an entirely satisfying wrap up. What happened a few chapters from the end did not need to happen as what followed it did not really move the story in any meaningful way. It also resulted in a few additional loose ends that likely won't be dealt with based on the author's wrap up note about which character she is focusing on next.
That being said, I did enjoy the beginning of the story and liked the characters well enough to keep reading. I will not, however, read anything additional by this author as I was not fond of how she continually threw new things at the MFC without truly wrapping up previous things. The story ends with many things not resolved or concluded. With such a never-ending read, this is frustrating for me as a reader. I don't expect everything to be wrapped up neatly with a bow, but I do expect there to be some closure in relation to the main villains of the story. Plus, what the author does with the MFC as the story moves to the conclusion seems remarkably contrived, especially as she is the guardian of an oracle. As if the oracle would not have seen that coming a mile away based on the things she had already seen and shared.
All in all, I'm annoyed that I spend so much money on the GoodNovel app reading this story. The only saving grace is that the ending chapters took so long to be released that I was able to save rewards and use those instead of paying to read the ending. I'll be deleting the app as it is ridiculous to pay upwards of $100+ to read one book, and then to have it released on Amazon for a miniscule fraction of the price. Talk about ripping off readers.
Book 4 needed more edits (lots of repetition, misspelled words, miss use of phrases like gamma instead of alpha). I also feel like this book should have been 2 books. It was long, so much going on and so much information where not everything had closure/plot holes. What about Brandon, Vince, Shannon, and Morgan..they were just left in a cell? Or the experiments by the humans, who else is connected? How did the rogues fight with silver collars, who created that…humans? Then the ending with the humans attacking. Amy saves them, but what about that storyline?
I didn’t care for the ending with the other Gods bc it seemed to open another storyline with again no closure. This series was good, but could have been better. It needed more fine-tuning.

It was an interesting premise, with enough character development that I wanted to find out how it concluded. This last installment was the messiest/least coherent of the other three. Oh big surprise, Amy and Rowan ARE mates (we all guessed that since book two.) Amy has even MORE powers than we knew of (“godling”?). The gods bring her mate back from the dead (but none of the other dead friends?) The big bad mastermind was killed halfway through the novel. (But what ever happened to his son, who he was doing this all for?) Not a very satisfying ending, but I’m glad I finished it.

I’ve loved every chapter, every book. I even marked my calendar to remind me the release of a new book. The story was written so beautifully. Wasn’t rushed and never felt too slow. The character development was amazing throughout all 4 books. Highly recommend Shifted Mate, one of the best shifter novels I’ve read and I’ve read A LOT.
What can I say... I haven't cried from a book in a long time this series is so good. I was on the edge of my seat, had the giggles and lastly I cried. I'm sure there are other books coming out for this series but the 4 books that are out are a must read amazing
I can’t say enough about this series. Outstanding characters, new and interesting storylines and lines emotional highs and lows that keep pages turning and wanting more. I’m hoping Ms Rivers keeps this world and these characters going—it seems there is more to learn, see, and feel in this Shifted Fate world!
This book was so full of movement, emotions and well told, I had to read them all together. Even after I had to wait when I finished book one and two, I started over when book four was released so I could follow it all together. Worth reading even the little type-os did not diminish the way the story pulled you in.
OMG! It would never end! When you think there will be a conclusion, the book is will end, the author creates another thing, out of the blue, making no sense at all. And it’s not like she managed to resolve everything in the end. NO SIR, lots of loose ends. Maybe she just got as tired as her readers were and decide to just stop. The story had potential, but it was way too messy.
I loved this series so much the characters were relatable & story line was great I just hope there's going to be a book 5 or Carlys' book to tell all that happened afterwards as there's still some questions needing answered. I'll be waiting with fingers crossed for another book ❤️
I loved this series, but I’m super frustrated with all the left open concepts. Nothing really tied up at all. The ending left me with sooo many questions and confusions. I just hope that maybe these lead into spin offs of the other characters so we can have some closure. Great concept and read but I feel like it left way too many things unresolved.
I absolutely love this series. Amy is perfect. She has many ups and downs and plot twists. Through it all, one thing remains and that is that Amy is a force of nature.
Omg this series was Amazing. I have no others words to describe it. From start to finish I was captivated. I NEVER cry when reading a book but this last got me. Just read it for yourself. I promise you won’t be disappointed. There is nothing else I can say, I’m speechless.
This series had me hookedd! Yes there was errors here and there but the story line was amazing.. i LOVE STRONG FEMALE LEADS ughh! I wished it went a little longerr but i boohoooo cried the last half of this geeshhhh!!
Ive waited for the end for so long and now its here im sad. This has been an absolute amazing series! One that I will read again and again! I can stress that enough. This is beautifully written and a beautiful story!
I loved these 4 books from start to finish! I read them all in less than 5 days! So good! If you're a werewolf lover or just a fantasy girly with a little bit of smut thrown in, this is your sign go on ahead
To say I was hooked through all the books is an understatement! I NEVER finish a series because I get bored. This one I couldn’t read fast enough. I was crying, sobbing! And this book just healed a little in my heart!
Book 4 I tell you will have you crying, smiling, like all of the emotions you can think of you will go through them I tell you but I still recommend ❤️❤️
I started reading this at one point but got lost somehow but now i found it on Amazon and I have read the whole series and I love it. Thanks for writing it.
