The third book pulls you in with promise, but leaves you waiting for the real payoff. (3.5 stars)
Book 3 of Shifted Fate continues the series’ strengths while showing some incremental progress in the story. The heroine remains the highlight, empowered, independent, and inspiring even when love interests enter the picture. That consistency makes following her journey rewarding, and it is clear the author knows how to keep readers invested in her character.
Plot wise, this installment felt flatter than expected. While there were minor developments, the story did not build toward a major climax, leaving the middle sections steady but not particularly dynamic. The cliffhanger ending was frustrating in the moment, but knowing Book 4 is coming on December 24 makes the wait more bearable.
As with the earlier books, typos and grammar issues remain distracting. A professional edit across the series would elevate the reading experience significantly. Still, the continuation was enjoyable enough to keep me hooked, and the heroine’s strength continues to carry the narrative forward.
Overall, Book 3 may not deliver the dramatic payoff some readers hope for, but it sustains the series’ appeal and sets up anticipation for the finale.
