Empowered heroine + real plot progress, though dragged pacing and quick resolution keep the action back‑loaded.
Book 2 of Shifted Fate was where I happily discovered the series was available on Kindle. I bought the first two books right away to fully support the author, and was excited to see the third installment would be released within days. Honestly, having the e‑book option felt like such a relief compared to slogging through ads on the serialized app.
Story‑wise, I was glad to see real progress in the plot—something that doesn’t always happen clearly in serialized novels. The author continues to do a great job keeping the main female character independent, even when love interests catch her attention. She remains empowered and inspiring, which is one of the strongest aspects of the series.
That said, the pacing had its frustrations. The main development wasn’t revealed until closer to the end, which made the middle feel more dragged out than necessary. And once the heroine finally uncovered the problem, she solved it almost too quickly, leaving most of the action crammed into the back end of the book.
Even with those issues—and the ongoing grammar, spelling, and editing flaws—I still found this installment satisfying. The heroine’s strength and the story’s forward momentum make it worth continuing, especially now that the whole series will be accessible on Kindle.
