𝐌𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 Cassian "𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤" Alexandre owns New Orleans, but Cheyenne 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭. Behind closed doors, the man who makes grown men tremble becomes putty in her hands. She's the only one who sees him 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞—who kisses away his nightmares and makes him believe he deserves 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫. In his world of 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐥, she's his 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲.
But 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧 makes her a target.

When 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐬 put a bullet meant for Cheyenne's heart, Warlock's 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨 instincts explode into 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. He'll 𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 who dares touch what's his. The betrayal cuts deeper when he discovers the 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝—𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧, the ruthless woman who birthed him and taught him that 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬.

Now Warlock faces an impossible the 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 that defines him or the 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 who completes him. This 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞-𝐨𝐫-𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐞 won't live in the shadows anymore, and she won't share him with a crown built on 𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

Honestly I wish that I could give this book 6 STARS!!!!⭐️ This is a 3 part series and if you read my first review you know that I gave it 5 stars....and the 2nd one was even better. I have never been soooo invested and emotional behind a book. If you decide to start this series make sure you read Surrogate to an Unhinged Mafia Boss first (another 5⭐️ series). You need to understand who Warlock is in that series first before you get to this one, which is a much deeper dive. The character development is AMAZING. I read 95% of this book in one day. Warlock as a MMC is so multifaceted and layered. His backstory is so well written and intriguing. For the girls that love the Delgato/ Inferno universe....you will absolutely LOVE this. Brickhouse is building out her universe and I am here for it. I feel like this is just the beginning. The way she is introducing other characters and building out their stories/ relationships.....I just know more interconnected series are coming. And I can't wait. 📚

I rated this book 5⭐️ but it deserved 6.

Would I recommend this book/series? Hell yes
Would I read it again? Duh 👍🏼

Dragging

Book started off good but it's just dragging now. War claim he ready to go to a war for Chy but he let Rain play in his face too much for me. Aside from that I just feel like it's starting to drag and I'm over it and can't get past it to get to book 3.

War 🥰

Brickhouse delivers another explosive installment in the Warlock series with Warlock II: The Last Mafia Boss, a dark, gripping, and emotionally charged African American mafia romance that raises the stakes on every level.
At the heart of this story is Cassian “Warlock” Alexandre—ruthless mafia king of New Orleans, feared by enemies and respected by all. Yet, behind his iron fist lies a man softened only by Cheyenne, the woman who holds his heart. Brickhouse does a masterful job of peeling back Warlock’s layers, showing us the vulnerable side of a man who otherwise embodies power and violence. Cheyenne is not only his sanctuary but also his greatest weakness—and in this world, loving a queen comes with a deadly price.
When Cheyenne’s life is threatened by a bullet meant to end her reign beside him, Warlock’s protective instincts transform into a merciless obsession. The emotional punch intensifies when the mastermind behind the betrayal is revealed—his own mother, Reign, who once taught him that love was weakness. This betrayal fractures Warlock’s world and forces him into the ultimate crossroads: the empire that defines him or the woman who completes him.
What makes this book especially compelling is Brickhouse’s ability to weave together action, betrayal, passion, and loyalty into a narrative that feels both cinematic and intimate. The tension between Warlock’s monstrous nature and his desperate need for love makes him a deeply conflicted, unforgettable antihero. Cheyenne shines as a ride-or-die heroine who refuses to live in the shadows of his crown.
Beyond the central romance, the novel sets the stage for what promises to be an even more explosive continuation. Warlock’s looming transition to Houston and the introduction of Aria signal a shift in his empire and personal life that fans will be eager to see unfold.
Warlock II is more than just a love story—it’s a saga of blood, betrayal, and the high cost of loyalty. Brickhouse proves once again why this series is a must-read for fans of dark mafia romance and hood love at its rawest and most dangerous. With emotional intensity, sharp storytelling, and powerful character arcs, this installment cements Warlock as a complex king torn between his empire and his heart.

Warlock II: The Last Mafia Boss is thrilling, heartfelt, and suspenseful—an unputdownable ride that leaves readers hungry for book three. Brickhouse has built not just a story, but a world of loyalty, sacrifice, and unforgettable characters that linger long after the last page.

Multiple POVS is the quickest way for me to DNF a book but I didn’t hate it here, although some POV’s were irrelevant. What I did hate was reading the same sentences back to back, paragraph after paragraph. Literal copy and paste. I thought I was trippin for a second. Chy and Cas got on my nerves, separately and collectively. This nigga moved on the next day, what was all that drama for?! You ain't even want that girl like that. I also don’t understand why it’s so difficult to kill that lady. He had like 10 chances to do so and refused to. All in all, everything don’t need to be a series. I can foresee a true brotherhood developing between Cas and Mosiah (who is the most interesting of them all tbh; definitely my favorite character, would much rather read a book about him) and more sloppy decisions from seemingly scary men who are actually just scared men, and more young women ruining they lives for said men’s abuse disguised as protection.

This was my second series by BrickHouse, and let me just say—I completely get why everyone talks about Warlock. After reading, I fully understand why Warlock turned out the way he did. His mama was absolutely no joke—heartless to the core—and all I can really say is WOW… but you’ll have to read the book yourself to feel it.

This series is not for the weak-hearted. BrickHouse’s writing immediately pulled me in and kept me hooked from beginning to end. Every scene was vivid and easy to follow, with no gaps or confusion. The character development was spot on—layered, believable, and raw. The plot was detailed and perfectly thought out, making every twist feel intentional and powerful.

I’ve fallen in love with this series, and now I’m waiting impatiently for Book 3—or even better, a full book about Aria and Warlock. BrickHouse, you did your thing with this one. I’m locked in!

Taming the Broken Beast

So Reign done snatched up Chy and not a soul knows where she has taken her!!!…
I can not wait until they find her ole raggedy ash!!!…
The Hallow wants to be in their feelings about War, but didn’t listen when he kept telling them that Reign was building something and then told them about her switching up w/ 2 different players!!!…
Tessa is too funny and all the suffering that her and granny are doing, thinking that Chy is gone!!!…I wonder what is going to happen when she resurfaces!!!…
War got his 2 side kicks and he is about to turn Houston upside down, but he has his eyes on Aria and she is going to soothe the beast in him with her fire!!!…
Babyyyyy, Vonne was not playing about her husband!!!…I can’t wait to see what she brings to Houston when she shows up with her crew!!!…

Again I thought War was more ruthless .. he had so many opportunities to snip Reign since book one .. but i understand it’s for the plot .. Chy .. annoying and very green .. don’t feel bad & Tess do you want Cass ? I hated when she even open her mouth and her pov wasn’t necessary to me. Again i thought War was more ruthless .. actually wanted to see Birshia in a happy marriage.. even though Vonne was annoying i liked the way she played! lol i was eating it up when she went at Naima. I feel like Birsh has a problem with everything .. it’s like damned if Vonne do damned if she don’t. It was more crying, arguing, and fighting each other than anything. Wasn’t balanced. The only person who actually stands on business is Reign actually.

Whew so good, murder, mayhem, crazy!!!

Cassian went through it in this novel. Cheyenne ended up paying the price just because he loved her more than the life his evil mother Reign constructed for him. I was screaming for them to just tack that evil trick down and put her down like the rabbid dog she is! The ending just opened up a whole new set of problems and once again Warlock is seeking out the forbidden fruit, but this time Aria DeLuca is really that girl, built for it, ready or not, its on! I believe Reign will suffer for all her misdeeds this time. The back story of Warlock gives me more understanding of why he's the way he is. I hope Granny and Tessa will heal. This has been such a great read!!!!!!

But once I really sat down and got into it......................baybeeeeee Brickhouse doesn't miss!!! I'm sad the way Cheyenne went out. Part of me doesn't think she's really gone but we'll see for the next book!! Vonne was savage asf lol. "You kill my hoe, I kill yours" She was also very much diabolical!!!
Tessa and Saint Killa....................both crazy but they make a perfect fit!! I loved their chemistry!!
Reign.........why is she still alive?? Patiently waiting on the next one!!

Another 5 star book

This book was an absolute page-turner that completely captivated my attention. Despite my initial intention to savor the story slowly and deliberately, I found myself unable to put the book down, consuming it with remarkable speed and enthusiasm. Brickhouse was so engaging that my planned measured reading approach quickly dissolved into an immersive and rapid reading experience.

Wonderful read

I'm so happy Warlock and Cheyenne found love, you know? Even with his two sidekicks, I bet he was super lonely. Cheyenne, I can't imagine how scared she must have been. They really did love each other. It was just awful, my heart broke when he got home and she was gone. His mom is something else, haha. Can't wait for the next book with Warlock and Aria! I always enjoy reading your books 🥰.

War Is Hell

Book two of "Warlock: The Last Mafia Boss" seemed to slow to a crawl in some places. War was constantly threatening to burn NOLA for the safety of Cheyenne... until he made good on his threatening. Reign was still as slippery as a snake in an oil slick. Waiting patiently for her karma. Did anyone check the burned corpse's DNA??? And Brickhouse. Did you have to do Naima like that? No karma for her dad or the evil father-in-law. Great read.

Wars mother is a witch for true she has no heart and she really expects him not to have to be too. Chy is too stubborn she wants the man but doesn’t want all that comes with being with that man.

Tessa is a joker but she loves chy like no other.

War will not stop until his mum is dealt with. And now we introduce Aria.

All I’m going to say is bring it on cause Aria and war together is a different kind of war.

Whoa

I’m amazed! The way so many plot twists twisted in this book! And the super thing we know will happen inevitably was wild! Can’t stand Reign to infinity and beyond! Vonne is the biggest headache and I’m so confused by two thirds of the trio being War, Birsha, and Muiz! Amazing story and can’t wait to dive into the next one.

Yoooooo

She did her thing with this book! I tried to take my time with this book but couldn’t. I found myself becoming emotionally invested when I tried so desperately not too.You know she did when you can’t even be pissed at the end. You find yourself being excited.

Unputdownable

Captivating love War locks story. Pulls out his human side. But I'm sure with the story line nothing is as it seems. I'm hopeful that there will be spins offs of other characters in this series. Please don't make we wait long for part 3.

Cassian "Warlock" Alexandre, a powerful Mafia king who rules New Orleans with an iron fist. However, his tough exterior hides a deep vulnerability, particularly when it comes to Cheyenne, the woman who has captured his heart. As Warlock navigates a world of blood and betrayal, Cheyenne becomes his sanctuary, but their love also makes him a target.

The story takes a dramatic turn when Warlock discovers that the mastermind behind the threats against him is none other than Reign, the ruthless woman who gave birth to him and taught him that love is a weakness. Now, Warlock must choose between his throne and the woman who completes him. I can’t wait to read the next book.
