I have read the first book in this series ‘For All Your Endeavours’ so was delighted to read book two of the DI Lancaster series. In this book, still with DS Marie Videt, the pair travel to Jersey investigating whether the death of Peter Urbawicz, a retired World War Two pilot in 2018 was accidental, as originally recorded. His daughter, Lady Stottard, thinks otherwise. They seek to find the truth.

I enjoyed this book as much as the first in the series. I like the author’s writing style, keeping the pace and momentum of the storyline consistent to the end. I also like his spotlight on the south west - in particular the ocean city of Plymouth and its surroundings. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
