Everything changed for Sara Maloney when she fell head over heels (sometimes quite literally) for Erik Hanson, and now she’s entered a new chapter of life as a store owner and aspiring witch in a quaint New Jersey town. With the help of her bonus daughter, 19-year-old Dani, Sara supplies her community with books, crystals, and coffee at Charms & Chapters while she plans her wedding for New Year’s Day. As the holiday season approaches, it’s Dani’s turn to find love. Or maybe just lust? The bookshop’s hot new delivery driver is delivering more than just packages to the two women; he’s bringing a world of trouble. Although Sara and Dani usually see eye to eye, the drama brewing as Dani chooses between her safe, boring boyfriend and her steamy crush is causing some definite friction both at the shop and at home. What’s in the cards for Dani’s love life? And will the odd behavior of their cat, Kat, help Dani determine who to fall for?
Charms & Chapters is the sequel to Summer of Sara!
I loved this book! It was so funny in places, and I needed that today. I re-read Summer of Sara yesterday, so I would have everything straight in my head again, and I’m glad I did.
Since I live in the area, it was fun reading about the local sites…especially that bridge! There is something, about knowing a book setting, that makes it more real.
The characters were well fleshed out, which made me feel justified in my like, or dislike, of them. Yes, there were some I intensely disliked! It was good to see some from the first book appear in this one. Is it possible there will be a third?
As I said, in my review of Summer of Sara, I know the author, so some of the things in this book really ticked my funny-bone!
Cute read over a couple of nice lazy days. Enjoyed reading about the next steps in the character’s lives and seeing Dani’s growth. I loved the little shop, and could absolutely imagine it being real. Kat was a nice surprise. :)
