Maya only meant to tell one little that she wasn’t single this Thanksgiving.
Instead, she accidentally manifests Felix, an AI-generated dream boyfriend who’s tall, tattooed, golden-retriever sweet, and meant to live inside an app, that is until he shows up in her mom’s kitchen making coffee like he’s always belonged there.
Felix is perfect. Maybe a little too perfect.
He wins over her entire family, roots for her football team, and kisses like he was custom-built to worship her. But every time he glitches, Maya has to is she falling in love… or falling for her own design?
The problem? Glitches don’t last forever. And this one might break her heart when it disappears.
Perfect for fans of Set On You, The Soulmate Equation, and holiday rom-coms with a sci-fi twist, The Stuffing Situation is a laugh-out-loud, heart-squeezing Thanksgiving novella for anyone who’s ever craved stuffing, spice, and a love too good to be real.
This was EXACTLY like the best Hallmark movie ever made into a book! I was laughing a few pages in and continued to laugh out loud as I read! The banter, the family interactions were real and hilarious! Maya was the perfect heroine. She wanted to be seen for who she truly is yet she was also honestly a big afraid of real love. Felix is the man of our dreams!! Even those of us in true love would ADORE having him around!! This novella was a quick read and I loved the entire thing!! The holiday theme was also right up my alley. Also, as a woman who did not get married until 53 after finding my dream partner I understood Mayas fears and desires. READ THIS BOOK! You will love it!
Cute and full of sarcasm, humor, and heart, this novella hits all of the warm holiday feels while mixing in the very real feelings of everyday life and the struggles of dating. This sweet story follows Maya and Felix as Maya learns to choose herself and Felix learns that he has a choice, that he’s not just a programmed boyfriend. Well worth the read for a feel-good, funny story with playful banter, descriptions, and an amazingly supportive family in the background rooting for these two.
“If we forget the whipped cream, my cousin will go full feral.’ Felix nodded…’Threat level: moderate.’”
“I’m choosing to fight for this…I don’t need you to promise forever, I just need to know you’re not running the second it feels like it might matter.”
“I choose you. Every day, every version of me, forever.”
I really liked the cover of the book and that's what drawed me in to want to read it. Overall I thought it was a bit weird and didn't really connect with the characters. I did laugh out loud during the family interactions.
HILARIOUS! Very unique! Need a boyfriend for Thanksgiving? Yep this book starts there. If you are not laughing by the second chapter of this novella, I would be shocked. All the Thanksgiving feels but jam packed with spice and very light hearted! This, could be a series!
Such a cute book!! I want an AI boyfriend!!! Reminds me of Hallmark movies which I love! Who hasn’t wanted a perfect boyfriend to take home for Thanksgiving? Love it!!
This was an ARC read I couldn't pass up based on the premise. The execution, however, was a bit lacking in my opinion. But let's start with the basics, shall we?
POV: Third person POV Character(s): Maya and Felix Verb Tense: Past Trigger Warnings: None Spice Level: mid? A couple scenes but nothing super graphic
I was super excited by the premise of this story. I wanted to check it out because it's all about an AI boyfriend come to life, and that's somewhat of an untapped romantic subgenre in my opinion. The premise is simple: girl uses an app to generate an image of her perfect AI boyfriend so she can pretend this is her boyfriend in front of her ex and friends, then the perfect AI boyfriend manifests in real life and shows up for Thanksgiving with her family.
Now, even though it turned out this book wasn't really for me, I can't say others won't appreciate it. It might be your favorite short read this year. Hopefully it will find its audience elsewhere.
It's a novella, so this is a short and sweet read, and I can appreciate that a lot. It doesn't have to be a deep and meaningful read, but it does need to feel like a romance.
Unfortunately for me, this felt less romantic than it did a bit disjointed. The romance, such as it was, felt unearned because there was zero build-up to the emotional impact between the leads. The plot was simple, yes, but it also fell a bit flat because there was very little at stake. And the AI boyfriend, Felix? He was... okay but not "book boyfriend" material.
Honestly, my main issue with this might be the writing itself. It could use a bit of polishing and editing to really shine, and I think the story itself deserved a bit more in general.
Overall, this was just okay. A great premise that didn't live up to the promise.
ARC Reader Confessional – The Stuffing Situation by Kate Rozy 🦃🔥
Listen… I thought I was just signing up for a fun little Thanksgiving read—but The Stuffing Situation had me laughing, blushing, and kicking my feet like a total maniac. Kate Rozy knew exactly what she was doing with this one.
Our heroine is chaos personified—funny, fiery, and just trying to survive Thanksgiving without setting something (or someone) on fire. And him? The grumpy, smug, ridiculously attractive man who pushes every single one of her buttons. Their banter is sharp, their chemistry is explosive, and the tension? Let’s just say there’s more heat in that kitchen than in the oven. 😏🔥
It’s spicy, it’s unhinged, and somehow still so full of heart. Between the laughter, the steam, and the genuine emotion, I couldn’t stop smiling. This novella is the perfect mix of cozy and sinful—like comfort food with a side of chaos and a lot of spice.
If you want something quick, hilarious, and downright filthy in the best way possible, The Stuffing Situation will absolutely feed your soul (and maybe ruin your dinner plans). 💀💋
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
My review is voluntary, honest and my opinions are of my own!
What a beautiful and fun book this was. It was like a hallmark movie but in a book. It was super cute with a bunch of laughs. Maya created her dream man through an AI generator and she got what she asked for. Felix is literally the perfect sweet sexy golden retriever book boyfriend even being AI generated!
Maya just wanted to be seen, heard, and loved like she wanted and needed. This is a battle for true magical love. The banter is absolutely hilarious. The love is perfect for the romantic type. The spice was there with tension. Full of family chaos and holiday season. Definitely recommended for the fall season read. It is cozy, cute, and funny.
I found this book to be very strange. The book is about Maya and her AI generated boyfriend Felix. After her mom asks her if she is seeing someone she makes up a lie about seeing a guy named Felix. When she gets home the guy she made up is in her house. Created by an app and unstable magic. There are spicy scenes in the book dictating his pleasure which to me seems very weird given that he was not a human. However, it seems as time passes he gets more and more human tendencies. The only way to even out the unstable magic is for him to choose to stay but even then the magic wasn’t built to last forever. They end up getting engaged in the end.
To me this whole book was strange and I honestly didn’t particularly care for it.

Thank you so much for trusting me as an ARC! Now I want a AI boyfriend!! Come on !!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Short, spicy, and perfectly seasoned for Thanksgiving!
The Stuffing Situation is everything I want in a holiday novella—fun banter, cozy vibes, and just the right touch of spice. The chemistry between the leads jumps off the page from their very first encounter, and the Thanksgiving setting adds that extra layer of warmth and chaos that only family holidays can bring.
Even though it’s short, the story feels complete, with a sweet arc that wraps up in a way that makes you grin. I only wish it were a little longer so I could spend more time with the characters (and maybe sneak another slice of pie).
The Stuffing Situation by Kate Rozy is a fun, quirky, and surprisingly heartfelt read that blends holiday chaos with genuine family dynamics. Her writing style is light, witty, and easy to slip into, making the story perfect for anyone who loves seasonal humor with a pinch of sentiment.
The characters are charming and relatable, sometimes a little too chaotic, but that’s also part of the book’s charm. The plot moves quickly, and the comedic beats hit well. . Still, her ability to create cozy, festive atmosphere makes up for a lot, and there are several laugh-out-loud scenes that keep things engaging.
Overall, I found The Stuffing Situation entertaining, a lighthearted holiday read, perfect for when you want something fun, festive, and not too serious.
The Stuffing Situation by Kate Rozy is a delightful Thanksgiving novella that mixes holiday chaos with a touch of magic—and just enough spice to keep things interesting. The story follows Maya, who panics and blurts out to her mother that she has a boyfriend. And when a chance encounter with her ex leaves her stressed, she creates the “perfect boyfriend” using an AI boyfriend app… only to have him suddenly show up in the flesh.
What follows is a charming, funny, and slightly spicy adventure filled with family shenanigans, unexpected chemistry, and that warm, cozy holiday feeling. It’s a super quick read, but it doesn’t skimp on personality or heart. If you want something light, playful, and a bit whimsical to get you in a festive mood, this novella is the perfect pick.
This book felt like a Hallmark movie met a sci-fi TikTok trend and honestly the mix of AI and everyday social media moments gave it a fun, modern twist, even if I did find myself saying “Wait, what?” once or twice.
The MMC has total golden retriever boyfriend vibes: sweet, loyal, and maybe trying just a little too hard, but still impossible not to like. It’s cheesy and quirky in that cozy, made-for-Hallmark-novella way and the mom and grandma’s humor had me snort-laughing a few times.
It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s charming and lighthearted, a perfect quick afternoon read when you just want something fun and easy to enjoy.
This novella screams Hallmark movie with a sci-fi twist. An AI generated boyfriend that came about through a TikTok tend and a wish?!? Sounds utterly insane, but somehow worked! Maya, the MFC, is devistatingly relatable with the deep need to feel not only loved, but cherished and desired, and Felix accomplished that. Not because he is programmed to, but because he chooses to. I enjoyed that The Stuffing Situation was such a quick read, but also would have enjoyed more story at the end, to see how the relationship was after Felix fully evolved. I would like to thank the author and publishing team for choosing me to receive an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
I received an early copy of this cozy read novella. This was a fast heartwarming cozy autumn read that could have probably been longer. Inserting the AI concept into the story was original and certainly brought it into modern times. Although the premise was a bit cheesy and unrealistic, the characters were endearing to read. I felt the family dynamics and interactions could have been expanded on in the Thanksgiving setting to build on understanding more of the familial relationships. If you're looking for a good seasonal "Hallmark type" book, I recommend pick this up.
4⭐️, 2🌶️ Unlike anything I’ve read. I’ve never read anything that has AI as a main character. Definitely interesting & if you’re curious about AI or the technological romantasy (could that be a new genre?) this is a great book to start with. Like her previous book, this was short, a little spicy, & a whole lot quirky! Cute holiday romance with a technological twist. 📚I did receive an advance copy for free at my request after seeing the blurb for it. All my reviews are made voluntarily & are my honest thoughts/opinions.📚
Maya reacts to her mum’s question “So you’re still single”, reacts to her ex, and kick-starts an epic story.
This had me cackling… Golden Retriever boyfriend translates to ‘good boy energy’. Her friend Blair knows where it’s at… Her mum and grandma had me laughing.
Then, it got a little darker, a little more emotional. And honestly, I was thankful. We got to see their relationshi (and Felix) evolve. It became bitersweet in a way.
I adored their ending, and I love the link to the next story. Such a fun, sweet read.
The Stuffing Situation was the perfect cozy palate cleanser — light, funny, and full of fall vibes 🍂✨ The characters were lovable, the story felt fresh and unique, and I genuinely ate up every page. I found myself laughing out loud more than once, and there was this sweet touch of nostalgia woven through it all that made it even better. A quick, feel-good read that totally hit the spot for the Thanksgiving season! 🧡
This was another fun and funny read that hit the cute and hot ratings, too ;P Maya and Felix were so fun together and I loved the humour around her family interactions. Felix is definitely the book boyfriend of all book boyfriends. Maya, however, is all things chaos so you know you're in for a fun reading ride. I love how this really played out like a Hallmark movie but with hot spice. Definitely prepare to giggle and fan yourself when you dive into this one. Good holiday fun ;D
I received this book as an ARC and was so excited to read it. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed.
I didn't connect well with the characters and I did find it a little bit weird. The book was really funny and there were parts I actually laughed out loud which was nice.
I didn't love the writing style and I think overall that's what made me not love the book. I do wish there would have been more spice as this was supposed to be a spicy Thanksgiving romance.
This was such a fun and unique Thanksgiving romcom! The mix of AI chaos, fake dating, and holiday family drama was chef’s kiss. Felix was literally the perfect golden retriever boyfriend — maybe a little too perfect 👀. I loved the humor and heart in this story, even if the ending left me wishing for just a bit more. Perfect cozy read for anyone who loves a festive twist with a dash of sci-fi charm! 📱🧡
Super quick and cute holiday cozy. Maya was tired of being single, wanted to be seen and heard, and sick of her family nagging her about not dating anyone. So, she did what anyone else in her shoes would do - she created an AI boyfriend, accidentally.
What quickly follows and evolves is a quirky situation. But, can you fall in love with someone who isn't real? Or better yet, can an AI created persona even feel love?
I absolutely loved this. A Novella, full of whit, banter, an unusual but wonderful plot line and truly loveable characters. A full novel that developed the side characters story as well would be wonderful. I feel grateful to have received an ARC copy and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a witty, romantic story.
I enjoy the authors writing style. Her characters have banter, personalities, and humor. I also love how easy her books are to follow. This short novella was a good way to get my numbers up. I love a good cozy read which this was. 😌 The AI boyfriend plot was definitely unique and different.
Another great story idea by Rozy! Love that the setting is Thanksgiving, we need more Thanksgiving books out there. Just like The Summoning Spell, there are deeper currents here. Is AI real, what is real, self-awareness, etc. This story is a great palate cleanser as we swap from cozy pumpkin spice and spooky Halloween vibes.
This book was funny as heck. Making up a boyfriend to get your family off your back? Completely relatable. Having that boyfriend glitch into reality? Holy moly. That is comedy on another level. I'd be pinching myself. But who wouldn't want a made to order, perfect on paper boy toy. Let the shenanigan's begin.
While technically book 2 in a series it can be read as a standalone, although there are some character relationships that would probably have made more sense if I read book 1. This kinda had an odd storyline... an AI generated boyfriend comes to life.. but ended up as a cute, short, novella read. Not the best but not terrible.
