He was my childhood crush. The one person I had been fantasizing about before I was old enough to understand what desire meant. I’m struggling with the forced barrier imposed by someone close to me who believes protecting me equates to controlling my life. The funny thing about control is that sometimes fate steps in and advocates on my behalf. All I want is a chance to appeal to his senses. A chance to be truly loved by him. What could possibly go wrong?
Quintyn Layton
I’m caught between a rock and a hard place… literally. Answering the call to come to her rescue had me forgetting a rule I’d never agreed with. She’s off-limits, according to my best friend. Yet, the magnetic power of her compassionate and gentle nature is clouding my vision. Everything about her soul is speaking to mine. She’s never been a little sister in my eyes. Do I kick down the barrier or uphold the rule?
Join Fayth and Quintyn as they navigate the fine line between loyalty and betrayal. Will they risk it all for love? Or will they determine that some consequences can cost them everything?
I have a love/hate relationship with the brothers best friend trope mostly because a lot of the stories have an overprotective and controlling big brother that reacts to the extreme once the relationship is revealed and this one is no exception. I was glad that Quintyn and Fayth decided to ignore her brother’s rules and pursue a relationship with each other and allow themselves to love each other but it sucked that they felt the need to hide at first. Rome was doing way too much and acted like a jilted lover or controlling father instead of a loving big brother who wanted to see his sister loved right. His rule about none of his friends pursuing his sister yet constantly asking Quintyn to look out for his sister when he was too busy wrapped up in another woman was flawed logic at best, but in the end Quintyn and Fayth got their happily ever after.
I liked Quintyn and that he wasn’t afraid to fight for his love or his relationship and was okay with losing his friend as long as he had his lady. I also liked that he made an effort to bridge the gap between him and his friend so that they wouldn’t have any opposition to being together.
Fayth was a crybaby and didn’t seem to have much a of backbone when it came to her brother and I didn’t like that. I would have liked to see her stand up for herself with him and I hated that she felt so guilty about accepting love from Quintyn while her brother didn’t care one bit about messing with her friends or her losing friendships as a result of him being an f boy. I loved that Faith’s friends were on her about not letting her brother run her life or keep her from accepting the love Quintyn was trying to give to her.
where do I even start? I had to keep double checking to see how old Sunshine was. Like...really. I understand the trauma she had from her dad, but I was wondering was she a little slow. You liked this man...he liked you, you not sleeping with your brother so fuck him. Rome had a little too much control. Checking her location, riding past her house it was really passive aggressive as hell, toxic, and so many other things. Your friends can't be with you sister, but you can sleep with your sisters' friends. The double standard was mind blowing. Still, was she a little slow. She cried at the drop of a hat. That right there was pissing me off. The book was ok, I still love a good Riley book but this one def wasn't my favorite.

Fayth had been in love with her brother's best friend since she was in high school, but couldn't show it. Rome set his rules, and expected his boys and sister to follow them. Quintyn decided it was time to get the woman that he had been in love with since they were children. She held his heart, and deserved to have it. In spite of Rome's request, Quintyn and Fayth had been had fallen in love and couldn't stop it. It caused friction it their relationship, but it was a risk worth taking. They were happy and in pure bliss. Quintyn were her safe space when Rome wasn't around. Great read.
Riley , you did it again! Definitely as a good read and I didn’t want to put the book down ! Although I was so nervous for how Rome came off and his role in Sunshine life I wasn’t sure if she was going to continue to deprive herself for someone else’s happiness or do what her heart has been desiring for YEARS! In the end love won and that always makes my heart smile big . With her being an emotional Pisces it was hard to decipher if he was another water sign like she was due to the emotional support he’s always provided her and that connection they shared or if he was an earth sign (Virgo) due to the theme of the series lol. Either way they were perfect for each other and I’m happy he wasn’t afraid to go after what he wanted . Beautiful book and I loved the characters and a part 2 would make my heart happier ! 10/10 recommend
All I can say is wow!! The authors of BLP continue to blow my mind with the Signs of Love Series!! Riley Baxter did an excellent job telling us about a Pisces Allure.
Fayth and Quintyn’s forbidden love story was simply amazing. He knew from day one that he was going to go against his best friend’s rule for his sister, he just had to see how she felt about him and baby she was in love with him just as much as he was in love with her.
The problem was her brother!!! Riley did an outstanding job building their relationship before the put on their big boy/girl pants and told the world they were together. And even though there was drama surrounding the reveal it all worked out in the end!,
Please add this book and series to your TBR, you won’t be disappointed!
Hmmm, the sibling to friend threat ratio by early to mid thirties was/is merely an option. The heart & couples are cognizant of desires & definitive about what & who they wants🤷🏾♀️‼️Thereafter, “tell them that it’s human nature” 🤭….according to the king of pop🧐🥰‼️Meanwhile, “Her Pisces Allure “BLP Sign of Love - Book 5” (3.75 ⭐️’s) was a mediocre read. I appreciated the banter, loyalty & general friendships sustained for decade. However, the double standard imposed onto consenting adults was unrealistic & inconceivable to entertain🥴.
Fayth has had a crush on Quintyn for a lot of years but never stepped over the line because of his friendship with her brother, Rome. Once Quintyn gives in to the passion flowing between them, he is determined to be with Fayth no matter what Rome's objections are. Rome got on my last nerve with his double standards. He wasn't thinking about Fayth when he was handling his own affairs. I was happy when Quintyn stood up to Rome, and kept Fayth's happiness at the forefront the whole time. This book was an enjoyable experience from beginning to end.
This was a nice read. Fayth and Quintyn have held on to their feelings for so long that they finally get the chance to express their feelings for one another. As a March Pisces, I was not expecting Fayth to be so emotional. She cried entirely too much. I just knew she would've stood up to her brother for the way he was acting. I get being protective, but it was too much. Im glad Quintyn, decided enough was enough and he didn't care what anyone had to say about his relationship with Fayth.
Come on now, Fayth. Quintyn was right there for you just like your brother. There is no way Roman thought it was cool for him to act this way. She 31 bro and he was good for you to call when you had sex on the mind but not good enough for your sister.
Yeah, he was just as worse as his father. I cheered when Quintyn took that first step back because, ugh. Keep the family out of your bedroom. If someone make you happy, love them in public.
That was just the right amount of info to be able to love these characters. However, I’m going to need an update, part two, a full novel on these two. Lay was such a sappy sweetheart and that loving man of hers, yep you guest it so very loving and nurturing. I love every moment.
This story hits home, but I’m glad Fayth got out of her own head to allow her happiness to occupy it. Quinton stood on business when he finally decided to say forget Roman and never let Fayth’s sway the way he felt about her!! Five Stars Ms. Baxter!!
I’ve read quite a bit of this author’s catalog and this book doesn’t even sound or feel the same. I’m not sure if it was rushed or what. But is the FMC 31 or 15? I get the trope, but to waste 90% of the book on it and rush the ending wasn’t good at all.
The book was good, but I would be lying if I said that Fayth didn’t get on my last nerves! Quintyn had the patience of Job. It would’ve been a different ending if it was me,because I would’ve left her ass alone. I’m glad Riley Baxter is an author and not me lol.
I love how the couples didn’t let anyone stop their happiness. It was a beautiful story This book plot happens all the time in real life. I am glad he stood up to his best friend to get his girl.
As a February Pisces, I can say, I do not cry like that. When angry yess. But, just all the time? Nope. I wanted to reach in this book and snatch this girl edges. At 31, she needed to grow up. MMC had the patience of a saint.
It's funny how brothers always think they can tell their sister who to date and who not to date while they do what they want. I love that Quityn did not listen. I really enjoyed it.
These books are good quick reads, but this one was a little annoying. The brother was far too invested in his sister that it gave creep. Fayth cried far too much, and I got tired of reading Lay this and Lay that.
Rome was being a hypocrite. Knowing Fayth loss friendship behind him but she couldn't go with no of his friends? Quintyn I liked how he put Fayth feelings first.
