Cecilia Dunn once had it a close-knit family, the legacy of her family’s Montana ranch, and a high school sweetheart who put a ring on her finger. Then, in the blink of an eye, she almost lost it all.
It took years to fight her way back, but it wasn’t until she received a cryptic text from a stranger that everything changed. A desperate plea from the brilliant but wanted international hacker Jake Andrews leads her into a mystery that binds their lives together.
Despite the ranch becoming a safe haven for Jake, he’s drifted in and out of Cecilia’s life like a storm on the horizon—untamed, unpredictable, and unforgettable.
Jake saw in Cecilia everything he thought he could never stability, trust, and a place to call home. And the closer they grow, the more of a danger the past becomes. Hidden legal traps buried in her father’s will, missing paperwork, and whispers of murder threaten the land they both now love and put their newfound love on shaky ground.
Will Cecilia save the ranch—and the man she loves—or will the ghosts of their pasts finally tear it all apart?
This book was a great read about second chances and finding home in unexpected ways and in a person. I liked that it had a low spice level and not too many in detail scenes throughout the book. I liked the dynamic Cecilia has with Casey and how they interacted in the book. Although I wished there were more of a romance in the book between Cecilia and Jake but overall it was a captivating read. I can't wait to see what happens in book 2 with all the characters!
Throughout the book, I felt like there was a lot of black holes and things that were mentioned or being talked about that left the readers out. I think this book does have a lot of potential but I just couldn’t get into it! It felt rushed, and I felt like the tropes and genre did not match up with what was being said :/
This book was fantastic. Really shows how love and family takes there own version. And found unexpectedly. This is Kira Cassidy's debut novel. And I was not disappointed
