Cybersecurity queen Delilah Davis’s first field assignment should have been routine—run a system check in a dust-baked one-street town in West Texas, shake a few hands, and head back to HQ. But the locals are anything but friendly.
Then the phones go dead. Every road out is blocked. And armed men stand between them and escape.
Former Texas Ranger Zack Adam knows this isn’t random. Someone went to a lot of trouble to stop them from leaving—and his gut says Delilah’s notorious past is the reason.
If Zack can’t find a way out, the men hunting them won’t just tighten the noose around his neck—they’ll turn Delilah into their weapon.
Falling in love shouldn’t be this dangerous—but Jorgia Yates wouldn’t have it any other way.
She writes Christian Romantic Suspense with protective heroes, courageous heroines, and a faith that holds strong when everything else falls apart.
Jorgia married her teenage sweetheart twenty-five years ago (after a truly cringe-worthy meet-cute in 1990), and together they’re raising two amazing children on the spectrum.
Living with chronic illness means her world is a little smaller—but her imagination is anything but. So while real life includes rest, resilience, and lots of grace, her characters chase danger, dodge bullets, and fall hard for the kind of love that protects—body and soul.

Delilah is Hightower's IT guru and has desperately wanted to do a 'field job' out of the nice safe office. When a nice simple straightforward IT clear out/system check of a recently closed bank in a small Texas town comes up, she is cleared to do it, with Zack, an ex Texas Ranger along for security. Due to a past injury that shattered his pelvis, Zack isn't as physically active as he used to be, considering himself broken down and not good enough for Delilah who he has been fighting an attraction for over the past 4 years of working together. When things start looking not quite as expected, Zack pulls her off the job but they soon discover they have no way out of town, no communication with the outside and things quickly go from bad to worse - and then somehow worse again. I loved how Zack refused to let his physical limitations stop him and was willing to put his life on the line to protect Delilah, yet didn't kill the enemy when he didn't have to. I also liked how both he and Delilah took their Christian walk seriously. I received an ARC but this review is my own, and I can't wait until the next book in the series.
I have been enjoying the Hightower series. This story follows Zach and Delilah on what is supposed to be a simple project but soon red flags are raised. Nothing is as it was described and Zach is on edge. Delilah starts out to be very excited but soon realizes this is not what she anticipated.
Both Zach and Delilah have hidden things from each other and that could really cause huge problems in this situation. One thing you notice, they are willing to do anything to help the other survive even at the cost of their own life. Great story on overcoming both emotional and physical hardships using their faith in God to give them that extra support and strength.

This is another good inspirational romantic suspense in the series. The first half of the book or so is mostly the thoughts of the main characters, Delilah and Zack. There is the possibility of suspense, however, and it finally materializes about half way through the book. Then the action starts and continues to the very end.
There is good character development as the plot develops. Delilah is supposed to be a desk person, with huge tech skills. She is excited to be in the field but then everything goes terribly wrong. Zack is a damaged man and he has to work hard at believing someone might actually love him. He is physically limited too, with a bum leg and hip. Forced to work together, we hope they can overcome their issues, avoid the bullets, and realize their attraction to each other.
Each book in the series focuses on a different person so each can be read relatively well as a stand alone. Another member of the Hightower team goes on assignment at the end of this novel so I'll be watching for the next in the series.
I received a complimentary egalley of this book through BookSirens. My comments are an independent and honest review.
I am a huge fan of Jorgia Yates! I love how she wraps deep truth in a tense and exciting story! Passive Attack is everything but passive. It is a stark reminder that our enemy seeks to control us through our weaknesses or our love for others. Zack is a true "tortured hero," wracked with physical pain, doubt, and self-condemnation. Delilah is an overcomer trying to escape a past that desires to swallow and exploit her again.
Zack and Delilah's story emphatically shows that no one is ever too broken or too stained for the Lord to love, deliver, empower, or bless! The mystery and suspense of what should have been a quick and easy assignment was intense! And Jorgia Yates did a fantastic job of showing us through Zack and Delilah how we can allow the false narratives that play on repeat in our minds to keep us from believing the truth of what God says about His children. This story lingers in my thoughts long after I turned the last page of my advance copy!
Wow!! What a ride!! Passive Attack is the fourth book in the Hightower Security series, and while Passive Attack is a standalone story, I would highly recommend reading the earlier books in this series.
Passive Attack is filled with non stop action and an intriguing mystrey and woven between the the suspense and intrigue is a wrestle with faith and control.
Delilah and Zack are both survivors and this is most evident in their determination and grit.
If you enjoy high intensity, action packed, Christian romantic suspense then I would highly recommend Passive Attack.
I received an ARC from the author, and I was not required to leave a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Great action. Delilah seems to not be the type of person Zack would fall in love with, but he's totally into her. She's into junk food, dressing in clothes from the 1940s, and a cybersecurity expert. Zack was a Texas Ranger and is more into physical security. Their mission going sideways means they're hiding out and trying to get to safety. She's out of her comfort zone and he's going to save her at any cost. She's watching him trust in his faith to keep them safe, and learning to have her own measure of faith.
Jorgia Yates is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I enjoy reading Christian Romantic Suspense that has a good faith message with the action and suspense that rival watching an action movie and Jorgia delivers with flying colors.
I first received one of her books from her newsletter email signup. That book happened to be the prequel to the Hightower Security Series. I was skeptical at first because I hadn’t read any of her books yet. However, Jorgia delivered a well written shorter story that intrigued me to look for more of her books. I didn’t get the chance to read Hightower Security books 1 and 2 yet but I have had the chance to read books 3 and 4, (this one), and I enjoyed both immensely. They are the kind of books that keep you turning pages well into the night to see what’s going to happen next. This book has well developed characters and clear imagery. It is a clean read, no explicit scenes or language. I would recommend this book. Fans of Lynette Eason, Elizabeth Goddard, and Susan May Warren, (as well as many of the other well known Christian Romantic Suspense authors), would enjoy this book.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Passive Attack, by Jorgia Yates, was full of action and thrill!! From the very first page, this book was wonderfully written and filled with emotions, details, and then threats. Computer whiz, Delilah Davis, was running from danger -- even if she didn't realize it. The protection, easily given by Zack Adam, a former Texas Ranger. This allowed them to get to know one another more fully, so they could build off of their strengths in overcoming any threat. Over time, solid truths have allowed them to see that they could trust one another fully, allowing them to follow their instincts.
I loved this book for all the action and unexpected danger that Delilah and Zack ran into. Still, even facing fear, they're there for one another. Their trust in each other isn't blind -- it's evident in an "all for one, one for all" mentality. Yates presented a united front within this team. It's a fact that they're in it 100%, and that together they'll find whatever truth that will set them free. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars and I am seriously excited for the next one!!
Delilah (our favorite computer maestro) and Zack are chosen for a one-day assignment. It’s right up Delilah’s alley since it deals with computers. She is so excited to finally get the chance for field work!
A beautiful day, a good flight, and a good drive - that is until they are met in a strange way as they get to this tiny town in the middle of nowhere.
The assignment goes sideways and Zack and Delilah are wondering if God will spare them from this ‘fiery furnace’ or whether He will take them home and end all suffering.
Jorgia Yates has written this superb and riveting book in such a way that you feel your heart pounding at times as you’re reading. Her books keep getting better and better!
Delilah & Zack grab your attention and refuse to let go. You’ll laugh, cringe, & smirk as danger chases them at every turn. Zack’s inner turmoil, torn between protecting Delilah & giving in to his feelings tugs at your heart, while Delilah’s spark & joy light up every page. Watching her fall for Zack is pure delight. Love & faith shine through even when doubts creep in, & the camaraderie, devotion, & warmth that surround them bring the story home beautifully.
What a great story! I really liked the camaraderie between Zack and Delilah; how it moved to a slow-burn yet totally sweet romance; then the decisions they both have to make about continuing to work together or not.
I've not read all the books in this series yet, but they are wonderfully intense yet sweet; balanced between grit and grace; hope and hostility; redemptive and full of God working behind the scenes. LOVE it!
“Passive Attack” delivers heart-pounding action and edge-of-your-seat suspense from start to finish. Jorgia Yates masterfully brings background characters Delilah and Zack into the spotlight, and their romance—unexpectedly tender and compelling—adds depth without overshadowing the thrills. Fans of the Hightower series will be thrilled to see familiar faces take center stage, and newcomers will be hooked by the sharp pacing and emotional stakes. I’m already hoping for another installment in the series, but even more, I can’t wait to see what Jorgia writes next. She’s truly at the top of her game with this one.
This was my favorite Hightower book so far. The interaction between them is so much fun with their very different backgrounds and personalities. The suspense and action is pretty much non stop. Zack has to deal with his limitations as he is the only one who can save Delilah. Delilah has a great quirky personality and has to keep her head and remember who she is not letting her past define her.

Delilah is assigned to her first ever field ops assignment and is paired with Zach. Unknown to her, Zach has always been attracted to her.
When their assignment goes haywire, they work together closely to stay safe as they try to evade danger. I loved their close friendship and despite Delilah fumbling her way through her first assignment, Zach was always ready to help and guide her.
That ending was amazing and I loved how their mutual confession finally allows their relationship to deepen and bloom.
Great addition to the Hightower Security series by Jorgia Yates. Intense story of trying to stay ahead of the bad guys. Delilah is on her first field mission with Zack and things go sideways before she has a chance to do any real work. They have worked together for years and are clueless about the other’s attraction. Zack figures the reason they have mercs trying to intercept them is because of Delilah, but why? *I received this as an ARC reader and am leaving my unbiased review.
The story is amazing, so many twists and turns. Zack and Delilah are sent out on a mission together—Delilah's first mission out in the field. Not trained in field ops, Zack is worried about keeping her safe. The mission turns out to be something more than he planned. Delilah has a past he doesn't know about that resurfaces, creating more danger. Between running from the enemy, Zack deals with an attraction to Delilah that complicates things.
Just when I thought the mission was complete and the end was near, it took another turn for the worse. The author created more edge-of-your-seat action that kept me turning the pages, wondering what would happen next. The main characters had many layers that were revealed throughout the book. The ending was perfect, wrapping everything up nicely.
I received an ARC from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.
Get ready for an awesome story. Delilah is called the cyber security queen because she is that good. Now on her first mission going to fix the problem it's a setup and its going to take Zack ,a former Texas Ranger , to keep them alive long enough for the rest of the team to charge in.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Another captivating story with riveting characters and twisting plot lines. She doesn’t disappoint. I can’t wait for her next book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Christian Romantic suspense with twists and turns. Great characters and from the start it is getting more and more intense page by page. It’s exiting and anticipating. This is also a page-turner.
Hightower Security book # 4. Don’t have to read in order but makes it easier to know the characters and background. It is a stand alone but ok. Zack & Delilah go to a small Texas town to help close down a small bank.
This is Delilah’s first mission as she’s the computer genius working behind the scenes. They need her skills to close the banking systems. When they get there trouble starts. She “sees Zack in a different light and her respect for him skyrockets.” He’s a former Ranger with severe injuries and always in horrible pain, yet Zack does his job with everything in him despite the pain.
Zack says several things in this book I love: “quiet sin is laying traps for folks who think they’re too clever to get snared.” “I…send up quiet thanks. For pain that didn’t get the last word,…for a God who keeps on using broken men to show just how small we are and how impossibly big He is.”
In our lives we need to let those quotes sink into our minds and hearts!
Jorgia Yates amazes me as each book gets better, as if that’s possible, because they all are amazing and the suspense is gripping! I love her books, her style and God has blessed her with an amazing imagination!
I received a free copy and this is my honest opinion. Betty F
This book is great! I loved it from page one all of the way to the end. And I highly recommend " Passive Attack" to you all as well. Let us know what you think. I love a nice clean love story that I do not feel guilty for reading.
This is a book about Delilah Davis and her first field assignment that she is so excited about. She never gets to go out in the field to work and most of her talents are behind a computer. She always feels left out and now she gets an assignment. It should be a routine job, run a system check on a closing bank, maybe shake a few hands and head back to headquarters. But the locals are not very friendly in this one-horse town, the phone lines go dead, every way out of town is blocked and armed men stand between them and escape.
Lucky for Delilah one of her best friends and former Texas Ranger Zack Adam is with her and he will protect her with his life if needed. He has had a crush on Delilah forever and been afraid to say anything. He calls her "darling", and it makes her knees go weak, so she likes him too. Maybe on this mission Delilah will realize God has forgiven her for her past and make her see that she does have a future with Zack.
Passive Attack is a wild ride that requires the reader to be anything but passive! This installment in the Hightower series features Delilah, the quirky computer wizard that everyone loves. She feels a bit left out, always on the sidelines and never on the front lines. Now is her opportunity to work in the field. The threat assessment is low but Zack goes along to provide security while Delilah does her thing. Only, things are not what they seem and Zack recognizes it right away. The pace is frantic from that point, resulting in bitten nails, hair pulling, and extreme stress — all of it mine! I was completely invested in this story, fretting over potential egress points, strategies, and plain old “how the heck are they going to survive THAT” moments. Delilah and Zack are amazing characters. Their dynamic is just fun but when it’s time to work they bring their all in spades. As always, the author provides those God moments in a continuous thread with solid punches of divine wisdom as revealed through the characters. I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy inspirational romantic suspense. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
We are back with the Hightower Security group and this time the story belongs to Delilah Davis and Zack Adams. Delilah is the cybersecurity queen extraordinaire of the group and she and fellow member and former Texas Ranger, Zack Adam, are sent to Texas for what should have been an easy job. Go in, check the cybersecurity of the small town and return home. But things are not what they seemed on the surface, and what had appeared to be a quiet small town, is truly a sinister place filled with evil. Will they be able to find a way out and live to tell the story? In the midst of the danger, feelings blossom. But first, they have to get out and warm others. The story had this reader on the edge of their seats from the beginning to the end. It was also great to “visit” with characters from previous stories. A great addition to the series. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Booksirens. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Fabulous: I really loved this book! It was filled with plenty of tension, action and suspense but still just the right amount of meaningful dialogue to keep things balanced. I loved the dynamic that existed between Zach and Delilah and was delighted that they got to be together. I also liked how Zach had real physical issues that he had to endure and everything wasn't perfect nor resolved unrealistically. Woven throughout the story was a wonderful Christian message that felt authentic without being too preachy. Unfortunately my advanced reader copy seemed to have some chapters in the wrong order or missing, but I was still able to enjoy this book very much and hopefully these issues have since been resolved. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
Delilah finally gets her wish to be assigned to a field op. Sometimes our wishes and what we get are not in alignment with God’s will and we wake up to a rude awakening. Zack, assigned as the security lead, already smells a rat upon arrival in Deadman's Bluff. Despite their specialities, they lacked in other areas and had to come up with impromptu solutions to get them out of the danger zones. What I liked about this book, is that the story continued after I thought would have been the end. This author didn't leave me with questions or loose threads. The plot was well thought out and easy to follow and the characters true followers of Christ. From a sinful past to a discipleship. I was fortunate to obtain a copy and it is my pleasure to leave my honest and voluntary review.
‘Passive Attack’ was one wild ride of emotions. The plot was filled with suspense, tension, action, a disabled security associate, spirituality, computer technology intrigue, baggage from the past, evil men, murder, kidnapping to have a reunion with an unsavory blast from the past, interesting family dynamics, a disappearing act, a much-needed major comeuppance, and falling in love. Moreover, Delilah and Zack, the protagonists, were ideally suited for each other and had chemistry. I kept rooting for them. Additionally, I liked the author’s vivid descriptions which created a frenzied tone. Oh, my goodness! Overall, I liked the riveting narrative. I received a copy for free and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
O my goodness!!! This was mindblown amazing! It literally feels as if you are there with Zack and Delilah witnessing their hilarious banter and interaction! You can see Delilah struggling to adjust to the Texas environment while she is used to all the city comforts. But more than that, Jorgia Yates weaves all the needed ingredients for an awesome romantic faith suspense together to give us an unforgettable book filled with humor, suspense, drama, romantic zing and faith-nuggets! If it were a movie it would be an million dollar blockbuster attracting all the crowds! I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed this book! This is a DEFINITE recommend!
It is a story about Diliah who is a who is a Tech Mastermind, always working at a desk but finds herself in the field. Zack is a damaged man that thinks no one will ever love him.
They are forced to work together. Their love story is beautiful and the trust that form between them is great.
This book is an inspiration of every day life situations. It is written well and easy to read. I have falling in love with this writer
I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Heart wrenching, page turner with HEA. I fell for tortured Ranger Zack with the strong unwavering faith. Delilah computer code writer extraordinaire seemed a little flighty to me. Intelligent, caring, fierce yes but a little over the top, then when we hear what transpired in her past it came together. The standoff and what follows were pretty epic. A moment that stands out to me is when Delilah asks for the faith and relationship with GOD that Zach has. My sister is like Zach in faith and I am like Delilah in faith. Thank you for the advanced copy. I freely share my honest thoughts and opinions. #PassiveAttack #HightowerSecurity #JorgiaYates #JorgiaYatesInc #Booksirens
